5/5Software 2.0 changes the game!
Update 6 May 2023: The big 2.0 update is here, and it totally transforms this device for me. A sleek new UI, data logging, graph view and more. Everything I was missing from the iGrill app seems to have made its way here. Thank you Weber! 🙏 Two suggestions for improvement; there are moments/areas where the font size and zoom seem incorrect or collide with items/borders in the interface. I’ve noticed it especially in the temperature readouts of the “now grilling” and “grills” dashboards when a temp range alert is set. Second, please add an Apple Watch app for Weber Connect. Even though connectivity was shaky in the iGrill Watch app, I still used it frequently as it improved my experience and level of convenience. Well done; please keep up the good work! ———————————————Happy to see this app moving in the right direction. Remote monitoring is great and seems very reliable, but I was disappointed seeing that so much of the basic functionality present in the iGrill app was missing here. Improving/adding native notifications and simple temp range/target temp were big (but obvious) steps. Wish I could adjust the temperature range function without having to delete the current and enter a new one (maybe this is just me?). Also hoping that data logging and more make it into the upcoming “big update.” Thought I might have put my hub away for good a few months ago in favor of my trusty iGrill. Glad to see I can use it again, and hopefully it continues to get better!

5/5Why couldn’t cooking always be this easy ?
Just bought our first Weber pellet grill after a long life of cheap grills. This new technology is a game changer. I have always over/undercooked everything and have never felt confident enough to say I am a good cook. This app and grill just changed my mind. I have cooked three meals from the Weber connect app. I followed the clear and simple step by step instructions along with the temperature probes and timers in the app and it has been amazing. Stop being cheap ( like me) and just buy the grill that uses this app!!! You’ll thank yourself later.

2/5Trending in the wrong direction
The app started out pretty strong, but more recently I’ve seen lots of problems. 1) Connecting to the grill at all feels hit-or-miss. Half the time it works, the other half it doesn’t. There’s no clear rhyme or reason. 2) Even when it’s connected, the app doesn’t always give you the most current information on temperature or timers. Not sure how or why this happened but now you need to tap around to force the info to update. 3) The notifications and alerts went from being useful and descriptive to being something generic like “Weber App needs attention”. This is just terrible for the overall experience. Instead of being informed that the grill is at temperature or that the timer has been completed, there’s a moment of anxiety where the full range of potential problems is on the table because of this poor messaging. This app was good at one point. It can get back there, but it needs some love from Weber’s design and dev team. Update: Revised down to 2 stars. This most recent mid 2023 update is really bad. The app isn’t as clear or as useful as it was before and feels like it’s lost a lot of personality along the way. Please consider rolling back this most recent update. The previous version was a better foundation from which to iterate vs this one.

3/5Your product
Your grill the sear wood 600 xl is phenomenal. Perfect heat, most smoke from pellets are terrible but the sear wood has figured out how to use pellets better than any smoker I’ve ever used. Now that’s the pro onto the Con. Your app graph is useless. It doesn’t zoom in to see temp fluctuations. It doesn’t store the info so we can take notes on how the smoking went, and if I accidentally swipe up on my iPhone it loses the history from the start of the smoke and starts over again which is the worst out of all the problems. When I wake up and smoke at 5am and check my smoker at 9am and accidentally swipe up while I’m groggy in tha Am after an early AM I need the App to hold my data and provide it back to me when I want to review my results. Also for 1200$ I should get a shelf and not have to buy it cause that’s just ridiculous for that kind of money. Overall the grill is great but when I tell my friends I don’t focus on the positive just the weak parts when they also are deciding if they want to invest in a $1200 smoker grill combo. Thank you

2/5When it actually Connects . . . .
Buggy. 1. Start up is painful. Will not automatically connect. Doesn't show a connection but shows the option to Disconnect. iPhone shows a Bluteooth connection but the app shows Offline. Will not recognize my wifi although the router is only six feet. Must manually connect. 2. After finally connecting all probes, Bluetooth and wifi, a temperature reading is displayed momentarily. Then Connection Lost message appears although my iPhone shows a Bluetooth connection and a router connection too. 3. After another repeated connecting effort, it may last for a while, until Bluetooth is lost showing Offline yet transmitting over wifi. Definitely not Plug and Play easy although apparently accurate when all steps are shaking hands.

2.2.0
Weber Connect 2.2 is here! We've been listening and responding to you wonderful users, and have made some adjustments to the app to make it easier to use in addition to the usual bug fixes. • We've made notifications more timely, fun, and attention-grabbing. Push notifications are now categorized as Time Sensitive, so they don't get delayed by your phone unintentionally. We've also restored the cute notification jingle from the 1.0 version of Weber Connect, which makes it easier to tell when your grill needs your attention while your phone is in your pocket! • We've also separated the Settings screen into clearly distinct sections for the app vs. the grills and devices you're paired to. This should help clear up confusion about which settings apply to the app and which apply to your grills. Weber Connect 2.1.1 added bug fixes and improvements. Weber Connect 2.0 was a complete redesign for iOS. • Every feature has been redesigned to be easier to use and more powerful, to make grilling more fun and more precise than ever! • Additionally, this release is full of new features! 2.3.0
What's new with Weber Connect with version 2.3? Have a seat and I'll tell you: WiFi connectivity improvements • Users with some types of WiFi routers have found that their grills would stop communicating over WiFi unexpectedly. Weber Connect 2.3 includes improvements to this behavior, and more are on the way. New colors for buttons and graph • Just in time for (late) summer! Or just in time to get you through the rest of the winter if you're in the Southern Hemisphere!.. We have cheery new colors and subtly refined UI for the Dashboard. Better separation of Essentials vs. All Recipes • When looking at the recipes in a specific category, we found ourselves losing track of where the Essentials ended and the rest of the recipes began. So we've put Essentials in one of those slick horizontal carousels, which keeps them all up at the top of the category. 2.2: New/old notification sound, notifications are time-sensitive, Settings screen got reorganized. 2.1.1: Really was just bug fixes and improvements. 2.0: Was a complete redesign for iOS.
