1. 5/5Ollie takes the stress out of meal time

   Meal planning has always been such a drawn out and frustrating experience for me. From trying to find new recipes that fit within whatever type of cuisine we are currently exploring, to preparing a grocery list to make certain I had everything. With Ollie it is no longer a source of stress for me and I’ve found that it wasn’t the cooking that I didn’t love. It was everything that went into it up to that point. I feel a bit foolish saying an app has changed my life, but it truly has. We live in a rural area, so I print my grocery list instead of having Ollie do the shopping for me. It’s conveniently grouped by category. And based on our meal reviews and preferences, Ollie plans the meals that we really enjoy. It feels very intuitive. I look forward to seeing what’s on the menu for the week. I don’t stress over the dreaded daily question of “What’s for dinner”. The app is a breeze to use. If I want to shift everything down by a day (if we just want a pizza that night), Ollie does that for me. If I want to air fry instead of grilling a dish, Ollie lets me know how to adjust to prepare it that way. I use this app every day, and I look forward to it. And the people behind the app are continually working to improve it day by day with changes that make it even easier to use. I can’t possibly say enough good things about Ollie. I intend for it to remain a part of my planning from here on out.

2. 5/5Meals and groceries made easy

   I never even knew I needed this until I tried it. Before Ollie, my boyfriend and I really struggled to choose meals we both enjoyed that were healthy because it was hard to cook with our busy schedules, varied appetites, and lack of proper grocery planning. But Ollie makes it so simple and now we have dedicated days for shopping and meal planning and we always agree or change the recipes as needed. There’s no guessing or wondering if we have the right ingredients and we can even ask Ollie to use ingredients we have instead of being wasteful or letting things go bad. Ollie has even helped us incorporate more mint into our dishes after we bought a mint plant and that has been so cool! I really love the detailed nutritional info you get for each recipe and how personalized Ollie has been for our low sodium health concerns. We use Ollie every week and it only keeps getting better. I have literally recommended this to all of my friends already and I think you would like it too if you took the time to read this review (just download it already, you know you want it if you’re reading the reviews).

3. 5/5Game changer for parents

   no other app has had as big of an impact on my day-to-day life as Ollie. No more daily trips to the grocery, frantically scanning aisles for something my kids will eat, no more panicking at 530 when both kids are already hungry and nothing in the fridge makes sense. I spend 10 min Sunday getting the family on board with our Ollie plan (adjusted with a click for busy days, extra guests, what we are in the mood for), then one quick organized shopping trip later, I’m set for the week (it even orders groceries now?!). Recipes are easy to follow and delicious, we have gotten our kids to try all kinds of new things that we had initially approached in a more complicated way (their hands on DIY recipes are great for littles!). We used to have meal delivery, but this is the faster, fresher, healthier, smarter, less waste version - and a dream for picky kids and people with restrictions. I’m not an investor or associate - just someone who loves eating good food but hates planning for it - until now.

4. 5/5Mealtime Game-changer!

   I don't want to be dramatic, buuuut this app has single-handedly saved me from the nightly existential crisis of “What’s for dinner?” I’ve been using it since Beta, and honestly, I don’t know how I survived before. First off, it takes all the guesswork out of meal planning. Instead of staring blankly into my fridge, hoping for divine inspiration, I just tell the app what I have (or what I wish I had), and boom—a full week of recipes appears like magic. It even compiles a grocery list so I don’t end up at the store impulse-buying charcuterie board ingredients and a box wine and forgetting the actual dinner ingredients. (We’ve all been there.) As someone who struggles with decision-making and executive dysfunction, this app has been a blessing. Like, no kidding. Full stop. It’s like having a personal assistant whose only job is to make sure I actually eat real meals instead of snacking my way through life. Need a substitution? No problem. Want to save your favorite recipes? Easy. Thinking about ordering takeout again? The app gently reminds you that you have a whole meal plan *right there*. Long story short: If meal planning stresses you out, or if you just want to pretend you have your life together, get this app. Your future self (and your grocery budget) will thank you.

5. 3/5So much to love but not quite there

   The AI meal planning and customization features are genuinely great. The ability to modify meals on the fly is the kind of thing that makes you wonder why other apps haven’t done it yet. The grocery list is where things fall apart. A few specific issues: • Old meals linger in your list and have to be manually deleted, which takes the app several minutes to process (took me 15 min to delete last weeks list so I could add this week’s groceries). • while grocery shopping, it’ll show quantities in cups, oz, etc instead of item count. So 2.5 cups bell pepper instead of number of bell peppers. Also, manually added items you’ve crossed off don’t clear • Adding a meal later repopulates everything you’ve already checked off If you grocery shop with your partner while they’re using the same list on their phone, you have to refresh the list constantly to see their updates. While grocery shopping, the items you mark off drop to the bottom of that category but stay in the list so scrolling through it is pretty annoying. The AI also has a hard time remembering preferences and incorporating them all in your next week’s meal even if they’re in your preference list. Seems like persistent memory is hit or miss. Overall, the bones are there but it’s still working on the kinks. AnyList has the best grocery shopping experience I’ve seen. And Ollie has the best meal creation part.
