  1. 4/5Great potential

I know this is probably biased but I just think there should be a way to make the app for people and families that couldn't afford the actual product or even the product half price. It really is crushing when you spend days thinking you are winning a bid for such a great price for something you or your child could never even dream of owning, only to have someone bid and bid and bid into the $100s in the last 5 minutes. Other than that, the only major problem is the lack of customer service via email or phone. And when I say lack I mean ZERO. I have had a (what I presume to be a lost package) and I have emailed over a week ago and all I get is thank you for your email we are working on responding. And there are no phone numbers or customer service representatives to chat with or call so they simply tell you to drive down to a warehouse. My closest warehouse is 15 minutes away and I don't have a car. Again, I love the POTENTIAL of this app and I will continue to use it but it can be very difficult for people that are trying to find a good price on something, not 3/4 the price or more after days and days of waiting and believing you might have some chance of success with an item for a price you can actually afford. Maybe a discount on shipping or lot fees or something for people with government financial assistance?

  2. 3/5Needs to be more diligent about products information

This particular company is a good concept. But there’s too many times that there products don’t match what their advertising and what you’re bidding on. There’s too many pitfalls of people not putting correctly on the site. What’s included in the product. Too many products have missing parts or missing boxes. it’s a love-hate relationship with this particular app and company. It takes time energy gas money and everything else that goes along with driving to facility to pick up the product to find out that it’s missing parts and other things as well. This company is grown extremely fast, almost too fast for its own good because their employees should be taking more care and looking through to see if the products their advertising on their site are complete. it’s really frustrating because it’s a crapshoot at best of whether or not you’re getting something that’s whole or not. In addition, the app doesn’t always work 100% and is kind of quirky. For example, I was watching the countdown for an auction that I was bidding on a chair and it showed that I won. It never showed that I was out bid whatsoever and then when the auction closed, I was surprised to see that I lost because the app didn’t show me that I was outbid.

  3. 1/5Ongoing dishonesty, and misleading descriptions

They are very dishonest, a lot of products that they know that it’s damaged, or broken, or simply not turning on, and they still sell them. I had this experience where I bought a cart to put my tools on while I work mechanics, and the cart came broken, missing screws, and missing a leg, I of course bought it with an insurance so I was able to return it, but I spent 15 dollars on insurance and they keep that, and then the day after I saw the exact same cart being sold again and in the description it only said open box, of course having a lot of possibilities of being broken, damaged, etc. I feel like that’s their way of getting away with it because, if they say that it doesn’t work then people will buy it for less or not buy it at all, but in reality they are making us waste money on returns since they want to not be completely honest about the product they’re selling, that they know it keeps getting returned because it does not work. And people’s best bet is to buy with the insurance so you are able to return just in case but that’s their whole deal. They keep on selling the same product that they know it’s damaged, and people buy it with insurance so when it’s time to return it, their profit is the 15 dollars that goes to insuring the product. And well it’s just an ongoing loop of returning and reselling products they know DO NOT work. This is a multi-million company and I fear the least they could do is be honest about what they’re selling

  4. 3/5Pictures/cost

A lot of the pictures are blurry and reused for same items that have flaws. Buyer looking at pictures of one of the items but buying one with damage because used different pictures. Please stop putting the yellow stickers on the actual item(especially books). Having a fee on every item and a percentage is too much. It should be One or the other. Isles are way too narrow. Cannot fit with two carts. Have to leave cart at end and walk to other end to get item (which may be heavy). Heavy items are stacked on light items. Have to move all kinds of items because my box is always on bottom. Most people are not careful and just push and drop other boxes. a lot of the items sold are in boxes two to three times bigger than they need to be which makes them easy to smash etc. those plastic flaps to get in and out of the building are dangerous. Folks constantly getting hit with them and items falling off of carts. I understand employees are cold. Spend the money for big automatic doors. The carts are absolutely awful. You cannot steer them. I feel bad for older folks. Employees are very nice and helpful. Glad to see the old manager Angela is gone she was awful!!

  5. 2/5Decent System

It’s a good system and you can get some really good deals. The down side is that there are a lot of broken items and a lot of items that have missing parts or components. I was looking for a set of luggage as a gift. I bought a set of three and the two smaller pieces were missing. I bought another set and it had grease all over it and some damage. Thankfully this set was listed as like new and I was able to return it on the spot. I had to buy several sets before I got a complete set that was in perfect condition. That being said, it is much safer buying items that are listed as “Like New”. If it’s an expensive “open box” item you should buy the insurance so you have the ability to return the item if you get it home and there is a problem. The warehouses are designed well but the isles get too narrow because of so many boxes protruding into the walk space. A lot of times you can’t take a cart down an isle because there isn’t enough room to make it through. The employees are usually very nice. Unfortunately I did have my account hacked and someone put a high bid on a small item. The manager on duty could care less and said I was responsible for the purchase even after I could show that I discovered it and changed my password before the item auction was done. MacBid needs a better system for resolving fraudulent activity. There have been several times that the MacBid app wasn’t working properly. When it works it is a good system. Even now, writing this review, it put this long and garbled word as my “Nickname” and everything I try to change it to is “already taken”. So I am leaving the ridiculous word.
