1. 2/515% auction Fee and a 2.00 item fee!!!!

   I had a screen shot but apparently we can’t post any pictures. I knew this was happening before I was forced to go download the “new version “ So now we’re charging a 15% fee and a 2.00 “item fee” REALLY?? This is getting ridiculous with everything anymore! Yeah we’re bidding and sometimes getting good deals, or so we think! How much are we really saving after a 15% fee tacked on plus a 2.00 auction fee? You have thousands of people bidding on a daily, anything of value everyone goes after. I’ve seen some things get as close to full retail value! I’ve went and researched some of these items you post and it’s not even the right retail value! Not to mention how many times I’ve bought something “new” got it home and it was not new! Idk how many times I’ve had to turn around and bring back your “new” items. All I got what “oh sorry that was a mistake on our part” what about the fact that I wanted that item? that’s what I came to bid on, or , the fact that I’ve traveled to both auctions weeks after weeks and we all know how much GAS I’m spending to get there, or, hours of my life sitting here watching and bidding. “Oh sorry” I’ll never get that back either! And NOW a 15% auction fee and 2.00 item fee. From 13% to basically 17% . Things are tough enough out here! We came here to “get a deal” are we really getting a deal nowadays?

2. 4/5Can’t save filter settings

   I love OLA but what annoys me about this app, is that you can’t save your filter settings. I have to literally filter and click to one pickup location each and every time I search something or any time I click an item, I have to constantly click that setting manually, because the other location is an hour away from me. I accidentally bought 2 items from the other location, and now have to try and find a way over there or I risk forfeiting the items and I’m out the money spent. This is extremely annoying and somewhat predatory. It almost seems as if OLA wants you to accidentally buy from another pickup location so that they can get some ones for free if you don’t pickup. Because you have to be blind to not see that issue when using the app. Also, items need to be broken up into categories such as “cleaning” , “tech” , “tools” etc. this will make searching products so much easier for users and will likely lead to more products being sold for more money. I have noticed that in auctions, there are 3 of the same items. 1 is being sold for significantly higher than the other two, and that’s because people see that item first when scrolling down the item list. If these items were broken up into categories, and people searched by categories, then each of the 3 identical items would be selling for more. People aren’t finding the other items as easily. Overall the app is promising but needs to be more user friendly.

3. 4/5Good deals, app could be improved

   My husband and I get things through OLA all the time. I understand that they are a salvage company and I don’t expect the app to be out of this world amazing or anything. I would just like to see their search capabilities upgraded. Right now, you have to type in very specific keywords to find anything. You cannot search by category like “pets” or “furniture” and expect to see anything close to the whole catalog. Also, the search thinks that I’m only typing in part of the word and will show me a bunch of options unrelated to my search. For example, if I search “cat toys”, the app will pull up a ton of options that start with the letters C-A-T so I’ll have to manually scroll through games of Catan or Quick Catch Tuna (C-A-Tch) when I wasn’t asking the app to show me these things. It also doesn’t know that I ONLY want CAT toys, not every single kids toy on the app. Very frustrating. I wish they would upgrade the search feature to be a more smart search that understands when I type two words separated by a space, I am looking for those two words together, specifically. It would be a huge help if they just had categories so I could see all the kids items, kitchen items, bathroom items, etc. Instead, you better know exactly the right words that they used in the title or else you’ll never find what you’re looking for. Because of this, it unfortunately makes browsing very tedious and annoying.

4. 3/5Good but not great. Somewhat buggy, poor search

   Overall the app does the bare minimum. You can usually find interesting items, bid on them, get notified when outbid or win, and schedule pickup or delivery. But it does glitch enough at the end of auctions that will sometimes miss out on an item you wanted. Big flaw for me has been the very limited search capability. I get spoiled by apps that use a google-like search bar. Until today, the app would search for any item that contained any word in your search and often return items that did not. If you search for PAPER TOWEL, you would get everything that included paper or towel. Today, the search changed and now the phrase has to be exact. Somehow that’s worse. If I want a SOLO BONFIRE, I can’t search for both of those qualifiers without excluding items that may describe the item as solo stove bonfire. App needs to fix search to allow WORD & WORD. Or exact phrases only in quotes.

5. 4/5Love the service in Stow Ohio

   First off, the organization and the pick up and the friendliness of everyone that worked there has been extraordinary. Even when there’s a long line, I feel that we’re taking care of in a timely matter. I can usually get in and get things picked up and get back on the road within 15 minutes. The guys that work there will come out and help you load if you have several things. When I have had to return something, the process is easy and quick. Why I only gave it 4 stars is because there’s been several things that should never have been put on the auction site. There are obvious parts missing or it wouldn’t come on when I got it home if I have to plug it in. But like I said, if there’s something genuinely wrong, they are very good about making it right.

   When I first started getting items from here, it was great. The last 6 months have left me very frustrated. Almost every item that I have bid on recently has not been in the condition it was listed in. There was also an instance where the location of the item I bid on changed to a further location AFTER I won the item. Their response is always to either keep the item and get a 10% refund or to return the item to a warehouse for a full refund. Who is going to refund me for gas and time wasted?!
