1. 5/5Gratitude and Support for Metro

   I find this to be a tremendous upgrade from the previous app version. The user interface is modernized. The map feels refreshed. The app no longer lags, and I now feel this is competitive with other ride share services. I’m reminded as I read other bashful reviews that we’re getting access to travel pretty far for only $2.50. This is a huge step forward for transit options in LA. 5 stars because my experience contrasts from others, where I’ve experienced improvement. New vehicle fleets, kind drivers, updated routes, I’m very pleased. I’m an Altadena resident who has seen immense responsiveness post-fire. I am grateful to our leaders for keeping this program alive which previously did not exist several years ago, and is helping home feel not so challenging to navigate around in.

2. 2/5App GPS tracking is horrible!

   The app clearly has an issue with keeping up in real time with consistent syncing. I have had one driver, Keysha, in the El Monte Zone who is a horrific driver! Always drivers around the whole block, in the opposite direcrion, pickup goes from 3 minutes to 15 minutes then she’s still driving the wrong way, then my ride gets cancelled. Why do these drivers always drive the wrong way? They will literally not move for 5 minutes + and then drive the wrong way in the opposite direction from you. Today, I had that same driver again drive the wrong way, kept going, turned around, then got stuck somewhere and never moved. Yet my app was displaying that “Your driver is arriving” when on the app, they were NOWHERE EVEN CLOSE. The information is NOT ACCURATE. I don’t understand why they can’t just make this app better. The drivers vehicle don’t sync up, they get stuck in place on the app and never move, or the vehicle would be 10 minutes away and then it instantly teleports to your pickup. The worst case scenario is it showing that your pickup is in 3 minutes and then goes instantly till “your pickup is in 22 mins” while you’ve been waiting at the pickup location because the app said the pickup was in 3 mins. At night, it’s frustrating to have the app not be consistent and I’m standing here at night waiting and looking like a fool!!!

3. 5/5Great and affordable service!

   Metro Micro is not Uber/Lyft. Riders do need to plan in advance. You will be dropped off at the nearest official bus stop location to your destination point. In my experience, I can usually book a ride and it will come within 90 minutes of when I book if I don’t plan ahead. I’d recommend booking a day in advance whenever possible. The app is good. I appreciate that you can see where your ride is on the map and how long it will be until you’re picked up. The cars are comfortable and many are wheelchair accessible. Every driver has been really nice. If I’m in a service area and can plan ahead, I prefer metro micro to the bus.

4. 5/5Don’t expect Uber

   I have been using metro micro since the trial began years ago. Not a perfect App, having to plan ahead can be very annoying/if you have last minute plans. Not nearly as convenient as something like Lyft or Uber but the price makes it very worth it. I have noticed drivers in the last year become incredibly irritable which don’t necessarily blame them as it seems like a very taxing job, but it doesn’t help the experience. I really enjoy riding on the micros despite the delays and inconvenience. (Of which there are A LOT).. I don’t drive and this is a great option for teens young adults who don’t either.

5. 5/5Great alternative than waiting for an Uber

   PLEASE ADD AN OPTION TO MESSAGE THE DRIVER PLEASE. It’s for local rides, and have had positive experiences so far. Only downside is that I don’t like that some passengers don’t pay or tap their card, and the drivers let them slide. I’ve always paid so I think it’s only right that everyone else does the same. It defeats the purpose of making it $2.50 already, so please people start paying! If you cannot afford, get on the bus or walk please. Sincerely a person who does right using this app!
