Our summer blockbuster, Transit 6.0 — at least for blocks with lots of buses — has now made its way to a theater near you. Wearing your popcorn bucket on your head, you’ve raced past the ushers, pushed through the theater exits, pulled your friend by the lapels, and they’ve done the same to you: DID YOU JUST SEE WHAT I JUST SAW!? Hopefully by now, your pupils have contracted back to their normal size, the 6.0 changes have settled in, and you’ve been adjusting well to all our latest tweaks! We’ve spent the last week combing through your emails, DMs, comments, and bug sightings, and now our post-6.0 afterparty has kicked off in earnest: - We’ve improved the contrast of stop locations in Dark Mode to account for bright lines (e.g. white, yellow, and pink ones) so you can more easily distinguish stop locations within the winding route path - Tweaked ETA cards to more reliably scale with your OS fonts, and made it even more obvious that you can scroll to see all upcoming departures - Standardized color handling to put a few renegade shades back in their place - Fixed a bug where Live Activities would show details from a previously planned GO trip, rather than your current GO trip - A few other miscellaneous licks of paint More fixes for sixes are on their merry way. Halloween is done. Daylight savings is over. The baseballers have gone home for good. Yet the season of sleigh bells is not yet upon us… which means it’s time to bask in the wonderment of GOvember, a middle month for raking leaves and plowing through the leaderboards on your local buses and trains. While you’ve been busy turning public transit crowdsourcing into a gladiatorial spectator sport, we’ve been plotting our own suite of entertainments. Like any worthwhile surprise, we’re giftwrapping it in mystery and allusion. (If you’ve put the “GO” in “VERY GOOD” this year? You can see “pickup only” and “drop-off only” stops for relevant bus lines. Tap any transit line, check the list of stops, and we’ll show you if those destinations are pickup/drop-off only. (If you start a GO trip and select “set destination” afterwards, we’ll also flag any pickup/drop-off only stops.) - Other small things you won’t notice unless you are the All Knowing One Rate us 5 stars if omniscience is your side hustle and omnipotence is your superpower.

OK. So maybe our beloved Canada isn’t a soccer powerhouse quite yet. But if there was a shiny cup for being romantic about public transportation, the Transit team would be frontrunners every year — and you’d be our honorary captain. From fond memories of rides across the city, to your obsessive impulse to know exactly how much longer your morning commute is versus your afternoon one (it’s important, OK!) our all-new Trip History feature lets you run the tape back and look up stats for all your past GO trips. Once you enable Trip History in the settings, you can start tracking all the tracks you’ve travelled down, including: - every GO trip you’ve taken - the number of riders you helped via GO crowdsourcing - the rating you left each trip - what the weather was like - how long the trip took, how long you waited - top speed (wheeeee) and more For additional info, take a trip down your bus-filled memory lane: transitapp.com/en/features/trip-history We’ve also snuck in a few other surprises before the final whistle, like: - Helping partner agencies who are playing host to the football fiesta (in Vancouver, Toronto, Kansas City, Seattle, the Bay Area, and beyond) make it easier for spectators and regular city folk to navigate their cities, with little improvements here and there - Invisible backend improvements that let us swap real-time sources faster than before. (Has your agency made an on-the-fly fix to where their transit data is stored? No more stale data lingering in the app — we’ll now update to the new source in a few short minutes.) - Homescreen widget update! From fond memories of rides across the city, to your obsessive impulse to know exactly how much longer your morning commute is versus your afternoon one (it’s important, OK!) our all-new Trip History feature lets you run the tape back and look up stats for all your past GO trips. Once you enable Trip History in the settings, you can start tracking all the tracks you’ve travelled down, including: - every GO trip you’ve taken - the number of riders you helped via GO crowdsourcing - the rating you left each trip - what the weather was like - how long the trip took, how long you waited - top speed (wheeeee) and more For additional info, take a trip down your bus-filled memory lane: transitapp.com/en/features/trip-history We’ve also snuck in a few other surprises before the final whistle, like: - Helping partner agencies who are playing host to the football fiesta (in Vancouver, Toronto, Kansas City, Seattle, the Bay Area, and beyond) make it easier for spectators and regular city folk to navigate their cities, with little improvements here and there - Invisible backend improvements that let us swap real-time sources faster than before. It hasn’t just been a summer. It’s been an Odyssey. We’ve returned from the Trojan bug wars looking a little bit worse for wear. But the lotus flowers were delicious (from what we remember) and boy, do we have stories: - Boston Green Line riders rejoice: we defeated the six-headed sea monster of branched train lines: instead of making you swipe through six different train “directions” (when it was really the same train, just stopping at different platforms) we now show just two train directions, with the branches and platforms nested underneath - We added better handling for connecting lines, so you know which bus and train lines you can easily transfer to when searching a station or tapping on a trip plan - We made sure that scheduled disruptions appear in all the various places that they should have been appearing in all along! (Like putting strikes on cancelled departures when you tap open a line or trip plan. Oopsie.) - A couple little typographical tweaksie-doodles on the Home Screen widget that helps you plan a trip to a saved location Hope that satisfies your fixins for bug fixes!
