1. 1/5Terrible Customer Service

   The other day I had two charges made to my card from this company, I've never used their services and was confused as to why I was being billed from them. I’ve attempted to contact them via their customer service line as well through email and no one has been of help. The gentleman who helped me on the phone was of no use and told me to email customer support instead for their assistance (what’s the point of having a customer support line if they don’t know how to help with anything?) so I went ahead and reached out to them via email. According to the person I spoke with on the phone, everything was going to be resolved within an hour. It’s been two days since I reached out to them and no one has helped at all, they take forever to reply and even when you provide them with the necessary details they supposedly need they launch an investigation, they ignore it and ask for you to resend the information that you just provided them with. Does no one here know how to read? I have to keep sending follow up emails to see if someone can help me with this situation. I already canceled the card that was charged but have yet to be refunded or even notified of who it was that was using my card information to use their services. Who knows if this app is good or not, but I won’t be sticking around to find out since their customer service is absolutely terrible. Would hate to see how they’d respond if I had an issue with their product seeing that they can’t even handle my current issue.

2. 1/5Let me ride out of service area, charged me to get back

   I was not made aware of service areas and I rode to my destination well outside of the service area. The scooter never made me aware I was leaving the service area (they let you know when you’re in a restricted zone, why not leaving service area?), then charged me to get back to the service area. Then I had the pleasure of walking to my destination 30 minutes late. I contacted bird for a week, finally I got a response. I was directed to four different people who all sent me the same automated response saying I wasn’t getting a refund. I didn’t get a real response from a person acknowledging the fact that bird scammed me by allowing me to go far out of the service area and then charged me to go back in order to end my ride. How far was it going to let me ride? I would have never rode the bird had I known I couldn’t get to my destination. In the end an Uber in a car would have been significantly cheaper and quicker… Horrible customer service, scamming users by allowing them to go way out of service area on their dime to get back. Awful. Update: They responded to my review telling me to reply to an email address, I did that and got the same automated response. I’ve learned since my initial review that the scooters are supposed to slow down after you leave a service area, mine did not. Bird is unwilling to care if you’ve been ripped off by their equipment malfunctioning so beware.

3. 1/5Don’t work for this company

   I became a charger for this company and just completed my first release today. All was well, I released the Bird to the correct location, completed my task and went on my way. At 10 am I began receiving notification that my Bird was late to release. I went to check my tasks and nothing was there but I also noticed that my pay out was not listed either. I contacted support and was told that they did see the release completed so they “removed” it from my tasks (although it was never there). When I responded asking for my payout, I was asked to provide screenshots of my location on the Bird map, a screenshot of the error I received when releasing, and a picture of the location I was releasing. As it was now 6.5 hours since I released the Bird, it was impossible for me to provide this information. When I responded stating this information, I was essentially told “Too bad, so sad. Next time do all these things because you will have to request a pay out every time you release.” When I asked again for my payout, I given a link to an article in the FAQs as to the reason for my lack of payout due to faulty release, even though I was never told that there was actually an issue. By the time this was said and done, this company wasted more time and money creatively telling me no than it would have cost to just pay out the measly $3. I am throwing away my chargers and discouraging anyone I can from using or working for this company.

   I would’ve given you guys five stars. I bought the Ride Pass that was $20 for ten FREE rides up to 30minutes each. Had an amazing time, but then the cracks started to come through. Dragging heavy ah scooter because it doesn’t tell you you’re out of the ride zone until you’re far into it. Not to mention, me and my cousin both bought the ride passes, the first few rides was fine, the scooter stops after 30 minutes. Well, someone from support said it is supposed to notify you but I was never notified, and they took $48 from me, when it was supposed to be paid for BY MY RIDE PASS THAT I BOUGHT. It’s very misleading how they advertise it, and even more upsetting their system is so faulty— one minute you have 7 rides left, not even thirty minutes later it goes to 3…smh. I never exceeded 300 allotted minuted i BOUGHT, yet they are so greedy they took my money anyways. On the phone they told me to email support and I would get a solution in 24-48 business hours— well I didn’t. They just all wanted to argue, and say it was my fault, but one of then even admitted to the system being faulty and the scooters are supposed to alert you, which they did NOT! After emailing its been over 52 hours and nobody has even helped me!! Very disappointed. Use the lime scooters instead, at least they don’t mislead and lie, nor are their scooters faulty and shut off randomly so you have to drag them to a parking spot.

5. 1/5Charger Help is NO help at all!!

   I became a charger less than a month ago. I don’t need the money but loved the idea and enjoyed it when the app worked. One morning (my 2nd week in) they had a network error as I was out dropping off Birds. The app would NOT allow you to release all your Birds! I followed all their app help instructions of what to do and went on my way. I located a $12 Bird on my way home and went to scan it. Due to their network error I was unable to scan the scooter. I opened a help ticket and took the bird with me. I charged it and waited to hear from them. Eventually they got to me and said that since I didn’t capture the bird I would not receive payment; to just go ahead and put the scooter outside. I also didn’t get paid for 1 of the birds that I released when the network error occurred. They assured me that I would but I still have yet to be paid. I have picture and documented everything. This past weekend (Dec 22) I went to release 7 birds and there were no nests. It was 5:45 AM. Again, another network error. Was told to release birds and document everything, that we’d be paid. I followed their instructions and I was only paid for 2 full birds and 1 partial. So, not paid for 4 birds! I’ve messaged the help section multiple times a get NO response! I’ve received a few cookie cutter messages that they haven’t forgotten about me; but I really don’t think they care! There is no number to call so if THEY have an error, you’re screwed out of all the work you do! Still waiting to hear back......

   hard to stop ride charge at end of ride had to tunn blue tooth on and off so app would register helmet was clipped into bike so ride would end.

   Scooters are often damaged and the app frequently tells you you're in a no parking zone on GPS despite being nowhere near the no parking area IRL. Use Lime instead.
