1. 1/5Technical Difficulties From Company During Sign In

   I depend on my electric bill app to work at all costs. It’s my electric. I full understand when technical service is being done and they alert the customers when trying to log in or even via email that it may be down for some time, however I have not gotten that on the app or manually logging in online. Instead I get unable to complete, try again later, we’re experiencing difficulties etc. They have all the marketing in the world to keep sending me physical junk mail and email junk for more things for me to sign up to, yet can’t advise the customers when their service is down, rather if they know yet or not. I’m typically spammed as well from this app for leaving a review constantly when I am logged in, so I figured the one time since I couldn’t, I might as well finally leave my honest one now on my own time.

2. 2/5Duke puts the hammer down on those who receive Social Security.

   I’m on Social Security it’s the only income I have. It was ok until Duke Energy raised my rates over 100%. I have to choose between buying groceries or paying the Duke Energy bill. I have lost so much weight because I haven’t had enough food. I eat meal now because Duke Energy are helping data farms pay for their electric electricity. My question is why don’t the AI companies pay for this how come I have to pay for it. I don’t want it anyway, because it will enslave all free people with an all seeing eye on everything we do as citizens. Let those who want these farms pay for it, because they have made record profits from the US Citizens. We are being bled dry so that they will be able to see everything and rule us all in the end. Free choice is going to die.

3. 2/5Commercial properties and rates should be noted on the Bill!

   I live in a commercial area, but I am not utilizing my property as commercial. It is my residential. Owner occupied property, however Duke has been charging me as a business since 2014. This ends up being about double the amount that I would be paying as a residential property owner occupied Duke customer, however there was nowhere on the bill that this difference was being made, and I in no way gave them any type of indication that this was a business. They changed the rate on their own without my knowledge due to my address charging me almost double each month. I defaulted on my account due to being in the hospital and that’s when I found out that I was being charged as a business when I couldn’t get onto the residential pay now Phone payment option. Duke may no attempts to refund me for my Uber charges, but yet they have never let me go that long and not pay my bills.

   It is not acceptable in this day and age to force paperless billing on a customer just to be able to view your monthly bill in pdf form online, period. The only way you can see your full bill either online or in this app is if you select paperless billing, this is the only company I have ever dealt with that does this. This needs to change!!! Also, you get charged a fee to pay your bill (again only company we deal with that does this) unless you ... you guessed it, sign up for paperless billing. Not everyone wants or can do that... and don’t give me the excuse that it’s your third party vendor that charges the fee... get a new vendor then because many companies do not charge that fee and can do it without, also, funny how the fee doesn’t apply if your paperless... same vendor.. why not. That’s because it’s a choice of Duke Energy to have it charged... TAKE BETTER CARE OF THE CUSTOMER!!!

5. 2/5No outage map?

   I’m experiencing an outage right now. I reported it via text and text back said over 1,500 ppl are affected. Then I remembered I had downloaded the app so I opened it to see if I could see the outage info and updates. My app doesn’t detect that I submitted an outage until I resubmit it via the app. Also there is no outage map on the app?! And no updates. I found an outage map for Duke via a web browser but that one gets updated every 15 minutes and no sign of my outage that supposedly is involving 1,500+ ppl. After the debacle that was Duke’s communication with its customers during Hurricane Irma in 2017 (when we were without power and communication from Duke for over a week), I would have hoped that things would have improved. However, it seems that it hasn’t. Your text system seems to have the information so the app should be updated with the SAME info in real time. Otherwise, it’s useless. Please fix this. Thanks.
