5/5Smooth
Honestly Google Fiber is so smooth. I’ve got a great deal, the internet is FAST, the app is amazing! You can pause your child’s WiFi right off the app if need be and set timers. You can kick people off the WiFi and see all the devices on your WiFi and how much the devices are using. You can make a guest WiFi so you don’t compromise your direct WiFi when people need the internet. At my last house the price was a bit pricey, but my new house it is cheaper and I do not like spectrum! I’m originally from California and had Frontier Fiber Optics, it was a rough company to work for and sell cause of there history but they had the best product so that’s what I used. I moved to Missouri and was happy to know Google was in town. I was a bit iffy just because it’s google but so far I’ve been amazed. Where ever you can get fiber get it. It’s a direct line in, it’s fiber optic your upload and download speeds will match. Using other companies that are not, they use coaxial cables which are like old telephone lines blended with fiber. Which limit your upload speeds. It’s like glass compared to plastic. Plus normally when I test my speeds they are always great! Customer service is great when you call too!

5/58gig Las Vegas
I recently upgraded to Google Fiber 8 Gig at my home in Las Vegas, and wow—what an incredible experience! Scheduling was easy, and the installation team showed up right on time. They were professional, friendly, and did a clean, efficient job running the fiber lines and setting up the equipment without any hassle or mess. The real star is the performance. I’m now getting consistent 8 Gbps download and upload speeds—it’s absolutely mind-blowing! Large file transfers, 4K/8K streaming on multiple devices, online gaming, and work-from-home tasks all happen instantly with zero lag or buffering. The network is rock-solid stable, even during peak hours. The Google Fiber app makes monitoring and managing everything simple, and the whole setup feels future-proof. If you’re considering it, don’t wait—this 8 Gig service is a total game-changer for my household and business needs. Professional install, unbeatable speeds, and fantastic reliability. 10/10, highly recommend! ⚡

1/5Set up issues
Every person I’ve talked talked to in person or on the phone has been great. I am giving a one start because of the lack of communication and the difficulty to get to a person through the automated system. I set up to have internet two weeks ago and my first appointment was canceled with no reason as to why and very little notice. When a technician finally came to my house he was able to give me an immediate reason and was great and personable, but being in the dark for a full to weeks with no internet was extremely frustrating. I did attempt to use there customer help services, but the AI generated assistance created more confusion and very little help and when it came down to getting a person, it said hold on for a moment I have a person right with you and then never connected me. After I finally my router installed the servers had some sort of error and it all wouldn’t connect to the internet. So I was stuck waiting again. This morning it finally displayed that it was fixed but I received no phone call which I was informed I would when it was ready to be set up. I then tried calling again and the AI assistant asked for all this information. Finally connected me to a representative and they just all the same questions again. I’m so irritated with AI generated assistance when it does literally nothing to assist.

4/5How Can GOOGLE Fail at Searches
It’s really quite amazing how bad the search functionality is with this app (and Google Fiber itself). Example: The Oscars are tonight. I’m not home and wanted to record the show. Dare I try on e again to use this worthless app to find a show and record it? Oh, why not? I’ve got 29 minutes to kill. I found 14 “The Oscars” titles, NONE OF WHICH had any “upcoming airtimes” that I could set to record. I finally used the guide and just kept advancing hours until I found it. Why are there 14 “The Oscars” in the first place? Because Google wants you to know that there were Oscar ceremonies on TV in 1952 as well. Why does this matter? It doesn’t, but you still cannot find what you’re looking for and record it. What’s the point of a app like this? I dunno, ask every other cable provider. They seem to have their own issues, but finding a show that comes on TV six hours from now is not one of them. Google is exceptional at finding things. How can it be this horrible at the only task you’d need from an app like this? Answer: it’s okay. you have the same issues when searching from the Google Fiber set-top box.

1/5Slow and Terrible
The app takes 5-15 seconds to load pages after clicking any button. If that was the only issue, I’d give the app 3, maybe 4 stars. Unfortunately, that is not the only issue. I wanted to set a static IP address for a device on my network and while it would be a 30 second to a minute task on Eero, it took me 2 hours. 33% because the Google Fiber app is just that slow. 33% because all of the documentation about the Google Fiber app online is out of date, and Google AI is probably being fed that, so it’s not useful either. 33% due to the “agents” just being humans using Google AI to answer your questions. I started sending screenshots to the agent following their steps to prove what they were telling me to do was not possible. This was after they lied to me and told me that setting a local static IP was impossible. Honestly impressive how hard they made it to set up, especially for someone who has done this dozens of time. I don’t think I could design a worse app if I tried. Good job Google, you erased all good will I had towards you as an ISP. Just go with someone else!
