1. 1/5What’s the point?

   Cumbersome system that adds very little value compared to much simpler ones. Not worth all the inconvenience and troubles. For example, driving back home and wanting to enter the garage, must stop the car, pull out the phone, open the app, scroll to the garage row, select it, then select open, then put the phone down and drive in. How is that easier than a fob or a license plate reader??? Any guest or delivery person will have to download the app and deal with its counterintuitive complexities. There are valid reasons for all these negative ratings, and much more practical alternatives. Note how the screenshots provided here only show a single access point; which apartment building would have only one door that needs access control? This is technology for the sake of technology. And let’s not even go into the permissions the app requires and the privacy issues that come with that.

2. 1/5The worst app I have ever been forced to use.

   This app is genuinely one of the most poorly executed systems I’ve been forced to use. It does not reliably track basic door activity—who is entering, when it’s being unlocked, or what method is used. For something tied directly to building security, that failure is not a small bug, it’s a fundamental breakdown. It removes any sense of trust or safety the system is supposed to provide. The loading time is absurd. There is no justification for an access app that moves this slowly. Sitting through splash screens and delays just to perform a basic entry function is infuriating and completely impractical. It turns something essential into an unnecessary obstacle. The design is chaotic and unintuitive. Nothing is placed where you expect it to be, and even simple actions feel buried or inconsistent. On top of that, the connectivity is unreliable—dropping, failing to sync, or requiring Bluetooth in a way that makes the system feel half-functional and poorly engineered. Overall, this feels like a product that was rushed out without proper testing in real-world conditions. It does not meet even the most basic expectations for a secure building access tool. For something that residents depend on daily, the level of unreliability is unacceptable and honestly embarrassing.

3. 1/5No Stars if I could....

   This system is ridiculous. We were basically forced into this at my camden apartment. I requested that they wait 2 months for my lease to be up before installing the new lock, to witch they said NOPE! Now, installed today, I’ve been locked out of my home 3 times with no way to get in as 1) my phone was inside, 2) it was left in my car, and 3) it died as I was trying to get into the app. Although the office made it sound that it would be quick and easy to set up a pin, it is not. I’ve been looking all day and have not been able to figure it out. I’m 22 and fairly tech savvy... shouldn’t be so hard!! The office is so busy responding to the panic of what I would guess is others going through similar situations that they can’t respond to everyone. All around horrible experience. I will be getting an old school key tomorrow to use for the remainder of my lease. Hopefully it works... if you have a choice or are thinking of moving into a community using or planing to use this system, I’d urge you, DON’T!!

4. 1/5Thanks, I hate it.

   Our Camden apartment community switched over to using this app to access all of the public entry points a few months ago and I’ve tried to get used to it... The Spaceship feature works less than half the time so I don’t even bother with trying that anymore and even with opening the app and selecting an entry manually it is still sometimes a hit or miss. Just now a guy with the old fashioned fob we used to use had to let me into the building and again onto the elevator because the app just wasn’t working for me. NOW they’ve installed a new digital lock on our unit’s door today that requires this app or a passcode to get and again I had difficulties. My fiancé had to finally let me in. If you’re looking to move to a community that uses this app for public entry and unit access go somewhere else. It’s extremely frustrating to be forced to use a faulty app to access your own home!

   Not sure what the exact issue is, but either the app/Yale lock is causing app resumes, when on the ‘key’ section, to not work as expected. For example, I have my front door setup. Now if I start from the root key view, and tap on my front door, it will work as expected: drill down into a subview, show the big black circle thing, and start attempting to find my Bluetooth lock. The problem is, after it finds it, and I lock or unlock the lock, I often just leave the app in the same state, as my work is finished. When I later leave, go somewhere and come back, then open the app again to unlock the door, it resumes where I left off, however this time instead of searching for the lock, it does nothing. There is just a big empty space where the black circle would be. If this is done on purpose, then it seems a bit heavy handed. The ‘workaround’ is pretty easy, just press back, then retap the lock you are interested in, however this is a pain at two extra taps. Other than that, at least with a Yale lock and iPhone 11 Pro, the unlock range is impressive, and allows slightly quicker entry.
