1/5Slow
App and website are extremely slow and produce a LOT of errors. This new payment system is basically unusable and it takes hours just to setup auto pay for no reason other than they don’t have the load balancers to deal with the extra online traffic. Also I am unable to link any of my bank cards to the system, it keeps saying that the information is incorrect… it obviously isn’t because I was able to add that exact card with the same information on other websites so there’s obviously a problem on their end. I haven’t seen such a poorly unoptimized website like this in almost a decade now, the government websites actually work better than dealing with this. Hopefully things will get better and SOON because this is definitely not a sustainable environment as it stands. You all are trying to do way too much with your website and don’t have the hardware to accomplish your vision. PLEASE! optimize your online service! I’ve been in the field for almost 20 years now, Im not going to get into any details but just look at your developer tools when surfing your website next time… there’s a whole lot of errors. (Tested on Edge, Brave- shields up and down, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, unchromium on both Windows and Linux operating systems both on bare metal and virtualization. Obviously also tested on this app) please do whatever you can to fix these issues get a professional, use Burp suite to dissect the issue if you have to. We all need this to work smoothly, I’m upset about this but hopefully this critical issue isn’t being overlooked.

2/5Useless for everyday spend
This Credit Card is good if you only plan to pay your rent. Even that’s mediocre at best. 2 huge problems with this card, firstly the conversion rate for the reward points is low. Just about any Credit Card out there with a 1% cash back rate out paces this card buy .25% or more. So even though you get rewards for rent you can math it out and cover any fees just by the extra % on cash back with literally any card on the market. Secondly the limit is way too low. Just enough to cover a single rent charge but forget about anything else which makes it practically unusable for the everyday spend or the rewards. Twice I’ve attempted to get an increase and twice I was denied. This is fine by me cause I don’t carry a balance anyway but for anyone that wants to use this as an actual credit card well good luck to you. I understand why Wells Fargo reports a loss of $10M per month on this card. If people are basically forced to pay off the balance each month revenue from interest is non existent. That is much better for the consumer however a terrible business model. Now for the app review. It’s like a rollercoaster of unattainable random stuff. The interface changes every 3 days and becomes very confusing to even use for simple things like checking your balance. They advertise soooo many perks and ways to use your rewards but what I’ve found is that you have to choose. Use the card for rewards OR for rent. Unfortunately credit limit restraints don’t allow for both. At least not for me.

4/5Update broken.
I’m leaving my previous review below because people deserve to see that you had a security breach. But now I’m complaining about the fact that the pay feature is no longer there. I need to pay my rent. I do not wait for auto withdrawal. The button is now not there anymore. And I don’t see my points. It looks as if built erased all of my points. My apartment management , forced all renters to use the BILT app to make our payments. Making my payment through my Apartment Website before BILT was perfectly fine and nothing happened to my information or my payments. Within two months of being forced to use this BILT app, BILT sent out a notification, and so did my apartment office, stating that there was a security breach with the company BILT. This is absolutely ridiculous, when considering the fact that both the apartment management and BILT itself touted itself on its protective measures of our security and within two months, all of us were compromised and we were forced into the situation. On top of that, if I make a payment to my rent before the auto pay withdraws then I still get a text message and an email stating that there was a problem processing my payments. Yes, of course there’s a problem processing my payment because you are not allowed to take my rent money twice within one month. Fix your app! Fix your company! I would give no stars instead of one if I could.

1/5BILT travel service is a joke
TLDR - NEVER USE BILT TRAVEL. TRANSFER YOUR POINTS INSTEAD. I’ve used BILT for the last 5 years both to pay rent and as a credit card. I’ve accrued and used over 250,000 points with them. Recently I used their travel portal to book multiple flights. BILT goes hard on their AI features and are cheap with their human travel specialists. The travel specialists seem to follow a script and do not understand anything that isn’t on their script. I cancelled a booking within 24 hours and rebooked. The points and cash refund was supposedly issued but it has been 3 weeks and nothing. I also tried to change another flight I booked and the travel specialist said they could fully refund the ticket and issue a travel voucher but then said they were sure if I’d be charge a change fee when booking again with the voucher. Sorry what? So I didn’t change my flight because their travel specialist doesn’t seem to know how refunds or vouchers work. This is a recurring theme with the travel specialists. BILT AI concierge constantly directs you to a travel specialist but they don’t seem to understand the problem so you have to go back to the AI and force it to connect you with someone from BILT instead and sometimes the BILT folks tell you to talk to a travel specialist again which is wildly frustrating.

1/5Save the hassle, avoid BILT 2.0
I’ve long admired the Jain family legacy from InfoSpace to Ankur Jain’s vision of making housing rewarding and achievable for everyday people. That is why I became a BILT customer in 2022 and stayed loyal to the brand. Since BILT& Wells Fargo ended their partnership, the experience has gone with it. Rewards have become less worthy, payment issues are frequent, and customer service is terrible (segmented by a caste system). I wanted to believe things would improve but instead I’ve wasted months trying to get basic issues resolved. Rather than addressing problems directly, BILT 2.0 pushes customers through a maze of support channels (yes, email and phone and text are different Teams) So I got the impression that BILT 2.0 is more about deflecting old issues than actually solving them, leaving everyday users left with the fallout. At this point, BILT 2.0 feels like a broken program, driven by a big vision but overwhelmed by poor execution. The only positive change since is the AI chatbot “neighbors concierge” that actually works. The other shiny reviews often read like insiders with special treatment (you not on the list to BILT nyc events so you cheap) rather than the average customers. Good marketing sure but not reality for the everyday users so be warned!
