1. 5/5Credit Card Account Due Date

   I spoke with a rep today and was totally displeased for the 2nd time regarding having no option to change a due date on my credit card. I would like it changed to the 6th of the month. I have a monthly auto-transfer to pay this bill. The earliest I can schedule it to transfer is the 2nd of each month. The last 3 months I have managed to get this credit card payment paid on time which is due the 4th of each month because I set up autopay. However, as of today, it does not reflect my monthly auto-transfer of $700 for that transaction to take place. The non-business days (weekends) may be the reason it has not posted yet. I’m between a rock and a hard place. I can’t change my USAA due date and I can’t make my deposits be there every time by the 4th of each month. Why can’t you fix this issue? I do not want to get an outrageous late fee applied when I am trying to make every effort to avoid that by paying my monthly bill on time. And the rep recommendated I cancel my monthly autopay and pay manually until you guys can honor my request. At 70 years of age, I hit and miss reminders. That’s why I chose autopay! Doing this manually is definitely not the way to go for me. I moved money over to cover the balance needed for this payment today. I really hope USAA fix whatever it is that is not allowing a member to change a credit card due date.

2. 5/5Where did add a transaction feature go???? Well there it is.

   Update: I am changing my rating to 4 stars. The “add a transaction” feature magically reappeared today. Which means it was either a massive glitch or a design whoops. Why am I so passionate about this feature? Because it is the best feature of any banking app. Being able to add transactions that have not cleared yet to see where you are quickly is really nice for budgeting. So I changed my rating to 4 because either there was a massive glitch. (I updated the app and uninstalled and reinstalled before writing previous review. I even checked my husbands USAA app and his features were not there leading me to believe the USAA design team had removed it.) So yeah! The latest update has completely done away with “add a transaction” under banking. I loved this because I added automatic deductions and checks. This kept me so organized and on top of my finances. Now it has seemed to vanish. With out warning???!!!! Seriously why???? That was the best feature of any banking app I have ever used. I am so frustrated right now. I had information in there that I need and can’t get back easily. I could cry right now. Did I say I am so frustrated right now? Because, I am really really frustrated. Why? Can you PLEASE FOR ALL THAT IS HOLY, restore that and all my information PLEASE. And thank you.

3. 3/5Staff mot knowledgeable / AI phone options are awful. can’t get to a alive person

   USAA used to be the very best Bank insurance Car homeowners, health. The staff you talked to were kind and extremely knowledge.. In the last 2 1/2 years I have had staff down lied to me about things to get out of doing work and they clearly haven’t been trained and have no idea what other departments do or what they should do if they don’t know something. I’ve had several staff that I’ve outright told me things I knew were an error and later call back and confirm with someone else just so they didn’t have to escalate or deal with it or be. Staff training is not brought enough. Some of the staff have no idea what other departments do them when they should transfer or what some basic things are. I understand people can be new and not knowledgeable and it may take time but when they don’t know something, they should admit it and get you to the person. Your AI is beyond bad in terms of your phone service to be fair. Most iPhone service services are awful in terms of their options and getting you to a real person in a timely but yours is really bad. I like I use it probably at Phone system needs a whole lot more development. The biggest issue with your phone service is not being able to access a live person and having to listen for 10 or 15 minutes while it circles around and sometimes you end up back where you started.

4. 4/5Credit Card Balance Should Include Pending Transactions

   It would make sense to have the USAA credit card balance work like the checking account balance where you can see the actual balance and then a running balance that includes pending transactions. It can take time to calculate monthly spend when you have to add every single pending transaction to the actual balance of cleared transactions. Realize the budget / money manager tool can help with this but again that takes time and has value but not daily value in my opinion. When I check my checking account I see the balance and then I see running balances inclusive of pending transactions that paint a clearer picture of the true balance. Similar to the old school white transaction booklet you’d get with checks. The credit card should include running balances in real time that adjust with each transaction. Then just simply put a caveat that the actual balance only reflects cleared transactions… but having running balances that adjust in real time would be extremely helpful and more times than not will be the actual balance once everything (fuel charge for example) clears. Would like to talk this idea over with a USAA rep if possible and believe it will help those with cards and especially those who use their card for the majority of monthly spend as my wife and I do. 5. 5/5Wish I could go back in time..

   I giving one star for all the good service the USAA app has given me over the years. USAA was an leader in digital banking with early Mobil deposit and good simple layout with lots of options. Sadly those days appear to be done. The late 2017 update was a massive step backwards, in features and stability. Multiple check deposit is gone, why? One used to be able to take several check pictures in a row, assign them to separate accounts and deposit at once, done. With that option removed putting in 5 checks can take over 20 min, endlessly cycling through the repetitive menus over and over again. The camera used to work well and now it's very jumpy and difficult to focus, and is auto photo taking gone too? Seems like I have to try to dance around with the moving blue box and then push the shutter my self at just the right second. This process used to be automated. I wish I could have to old version back, it was better all around. Maybe USAA hired an new developer? Maybe they had to build from the ground up to incorporate new security? Maybe they just lost their minds. But they certainly bungled this update. Many recent reviews all follow this tone more or less. Let's hope there are open ears and and changes in the works at USAA.
