1. 4/5App Has Its Limits Currently

   I really like the features and functionality of being able to see devices, locating repeater feature, and several others. However, it doesn’t have / utilize “Face Id” and every time I login the app rejects my password, no matter what I do as far as retyyor changing, it rejects them and threatens to lock app for 10 mins. VERY FRUSTRATING! Please get these bugs fixed as soon as possible. Lastly, the TP-Link AX-3000 repeater has worked great so far during the past initial use of 2 weeks! It offers 2.4G & 5G at the same time and it looks like the equipment that links up pics the band it needs. As far as the installation, download this APP and follow instructions, just that EASY! I needed this product boost my WIFI signal from my home to my guest house that is approx. 40 ft. away from my garage which is the closest point to position repeater that has a 110vAC outlet. I get a full set of bars on 2.4G and 3 bars on 5G signal. No buffering on 2 TVs, 1 computer, and 2 cellphones while also allowing additional equipment in my main home to access this repeater. AGAIN, so far it is working perfectly! Just get a couple of the items I mentioned earlier and it will earn 5 stars. Current price is reasonable given the service expectations met.

2. 3/5Would be higher but been having too many new random problems

   Originally when I purchased my RE605X too boost my current speeds, overall connection, and latency issues it was night and day difference compared to without it. But the past few weeks I’ve been having terrible and I mean absolutely terrible if not worse connection issues than why I originally had purchased said product. The app is lack luster and doesn’t really have or give you many “advanced” and or extended list of options referring to making a network change, from when I first downloaded the app and even went online and logged into the router/extender using the IP address followed by admin Id and password I’ve noticed, “UpNp” and “DMZ” settings aren’t within the interface or options anymore, no port forwarding options, just generally no significant Wi-Fi options to actually help out my connection/latency issues just a dull interface with dns, dhcp and subnet mask/ip settings. 3/5 stars on a once self opinion biased 5/5 star device and app that once was helpful especially in comparison to price compared to its other rivaling company’s that produce the same product if not 10/10 better and significantly more options to help YOU WITH YOUR INTERNET EXPERIENCE.

   With the router being sort of massive and having all the antennas it has, you would think that the wifi signal would be very strong, but it seems to have an average presence. Although there are only a couple of dead spots in our 2 bedroom apartment, there should be none considering the size of our home. Also you can’t tell what wifi format you’re transmitting, nor you don’t have any control over assigning wifi-6 as a designated priority. Nonetheless, the router is reliable, but it is somewhat difficult to manage without an advanced degree in router science. Better explanation and clear terminology of the myriad functions, (breaking all them down in layman’s term) will help someone who don’t know much about setting up their home network, be more capable of at least understanding what is necessary and how those parameters will fit into their network prowess. I feel it is more important as the responsible party in the home, to have a hands on involvement in the functionality of my network without having to bring a technician in to set it up. After all, your product is more or less advertised as a DIY networking device that provides independence in our world of expensive outsourcing. Nonetheless, it is much better than that piece of junk I left from a few years back, that offered more problems then it was worth! That said, thanks for your reliability. Just work a little on functionality and you will have a product the novice homeowner can feel comfortable indulging in!

   I don’t usually write reviews but wanted to share my thoughts on this app compared to using the website control panel. I personally don’t like that it’s not a 1 to 1 toggle of the settings. In other words, not all the settings/features on the website control are on the Tether app, making it inconsistent and inconvenient to some extent. For starters, the Tether app doesn’t allow you to block keywords in URLs, it only allows you to block specific URLs, whereas the website allows for both. The app will show the keywords but you can’t add any - inconsistent design. It would be more convenient for users of the Tether app to allow for us to also use keywords just like the website. Some features I’d like to see - add a Web Filter to block AI sites, especially AI Chat bots; allow for domain name blocking, ie. adding .ai or *.ai to a block website list will block all websites with .ai in the domain - perhaps a workaround would be to add “ai” in the keywords/block list; another feature I’d like to see is adding/including a global block/approved website/keyword list and not ONLY restrict it to just certain profiles and devices on those profiles - so that ANY device that has connected to my network, like a guest or otherwise, has limited access to certain sites without me having to go in the app, finding their MAC address, add to a “guest” profile, etc. I also think the app needs a toggle for “dark” mode and bright mode - I think the app is TOO white and needs the option of a dark mode.

5. 5/5Helper with setting up

   At my business have still old DSL connection as Fios is not in my area that would have to pay a lot of money just to have it installed, ridiculous. So I did some researching on how I could boost my internet speed with what I have already. Got this app because the router i bought had told me in the instructions that it could help with finding the device and configuration as well. Tested it out and it was informative and easy to understand what it needed me to do as I did make a small mistake with the wire got them mixed up. After that it let me configure the routers ports to name and passwords set up and before I knew it I was up and running. It has boost up my DSL internet speeds up and the business can run smoothly until fios decides it wants to help this busy town my business is in and others to run their businesses smoothly as well. Shouldn’t have to pay a fortune when it should be available for everyone business or not. I have Verizon for my business but they don’t seem to check or update their customers thst been with them a very long time to help upgrade their devices to have better service. Thats what happens when theirs money involved they get so big and could careless about their customers but what I say about customers is that of it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t have a business, should value your customers.
