5/5Sonos Dev Team, I hope you are listening
The app update is almost unusable. Lots of new bad reviews are warranted. I have several Sonos systems and used to be able to go seamlessly to my different locations. Now the app acts like it has never seen my other systems and I need to reconnect sometimes several times in a day. I can no longer easily navigate to the music I want to play nor can I easily see or decide what is playing next. The app controls don’t fit on an iPhone screen for some crazy reason you can’t Read some of the buttons and you will need to back out several times just to find out where you are within the app. Anyone, including Grandparents and kids used to be able to jump on the system and easily use it. I now have friends family and employees telling me each day they can no longer interact or get the app to function. Is the volume now controlled by ai? Seriously it does not even slide up and down smoothly, it is almost like it is trying to anticipate where it thinks you want the volume rather than allowing you to move the volume slide on you own. I hope you are listening and you can steer the ship back to where it was heading rather than where you turned it. The new app is almost a deal breaker. This is coming from a Sonos lover with multiple Sonos systems and an early adopter and promoter of the system. Thank for considering this.

5/5Sonos Software
I’d like to state that I have been a huge Sonos fan ever since we bought our first Playbar which followed with an additional 2 Sonos ones & to complete the set, a subwoofer. The Entertainement system was by far the best in sound, software, & control. Now for the explanation of the 1 start this “updated” version/product deserves. Leading up to fathers day I decided I’d add an additional Move to the house for my dad. Once getting, we allowed it to charge, then began the pairing process. It went downhill from there, after we attempted to pair it we had to upgrade all the other products in order to sync properly. The upgrade would make it to nearly 99% until displaying an error message. After countless reading through forums I decided to download the “New” Sonos app. I was then required to upgrade the system once again but this time I had to restart my WiFi and restart my products. Once it finally allowed me to update which took over 1 hr of tedious tampering it paired together. Although the pairing process occurred I STILL receive an error in the app where the products go missing in the app, constant restarting of WiFi, and Major WiFi issues throughout the house. If I would’ve known the stress that the new Sonos Move product would bring, I would NOT have bought the headache. When the speakers decide to work in synchronization it sounds amazing but as of Sonos software team... YOU GUYS NEED TO FIGUE IT OUT. Time for a new software team because whoever is in charge for the new products/app completely dropped the ball. If the issue persists I’m afraid to say but I’d rather buy from their competitor.

2/5Amazing hardware; terrible software
I have been an owner of Sonos speakers since the very beginning. I have thousands of dollars of their equipment and their innovation in the audio space and the quality of their devices are amazing. Unfortunately there is a big ‘but’ to this story. Since the release of the S2 app (which is vital to operating the hardware) my opinion of Sonos has gone down significantly. Many people will point out that there were feature takeaways in the move from S1 to S2 - and this is true. But it’s not the missing features that are the problem. It’s the reliability and performance of the core experience that is at issue. The new app (after being out for several years now) is fundamentally flawed in its ability to manage the most basic and simple aspects of running your Sonos hardware. Speakers will stop appearing in the app forcing you to reinstall them repeatedly, response times are laggy causing you to wait for long periods of time to switch between music sources or volume changes, there are too many ‘clicks’ to get to the music you want to hear, and there’s to much advertising - we already bought your devices, if you continue to delight us; we will buy more. Sadly, Sonos, even after a CEO change has not improved and does not delight us. I want to love Sonos so much, and did in the early years, but now I don’t and find myself wishing there was a legitimate competitor in this space that was passionate about the customer and creating a world class customer experience. I would gladly give them my hard earned dollars.

1/5Why?
My family and I have been loyal Sonos customers since 2007 (I think they had only started in ‘05). We have stuck by through the various changes and bricking of old components (that we paid good money for and still sounded great), and we bought the updates (more money!) but still loved the way the system worked throughout our house/yard. (Over the years we’ve convinced countless family and friends to buy the system as well. If we were salesman for the company we’d be big earners for sure.) …with all that said, I can say with no hyperbole that this app update is the worst I have ever experienced. There are too many nuances of the new app that make zero sense that I am not even going to take the time to list them all here, but it takes me a good 10-15 seconds each time I turn it on to remember where to press to search (not the least bit intuitive) and it glitches daily. For example, just now I was trying to put a song on and, no exaggeration, it took at least 4-5 button presses to even get to the song, then multiple presses (nothing) and finally a completely different song played (my son thought it hilarious, so that is something). After the change, my wife took the app off her phone and actually refuses to use the system- she simply uses Bluetooth stream to the speaker. For the love of God, Sonos, put it back to where you had it before this latest version! Seriously. This is the worst, and I swear you’re going to lose loyal customers like me as well as those we talk to.

1/5Never buying a Sonos product again.
I have been invested in Sonos for 15+ years and have spent countless dollars on dozens and dozens of your speakers and connect systems. Never again. This app is so terrible. The iOS integration is terrible. I cannot control the volume with the volume buttons while in the app. Now playing is not viewable outside the app from widgets, the lock screen, the control center, etc. so you cannot see what is playing or control it without going into the app. even something simple like “siri, next track” doesn’t work because of this poor integration. In the app, I am constantly pushed to your music service I don’t want. How come I can add and delete services as I like — except yours which is always there? Even though I have my apple music library first in my services, it shows up second on the home screen (behind Sonos Radio). On the search results page, my music is buried at the end. Searching only my music library requires me to horizontally scroll all the way to the right where my music library is last, even though it is first in my services. That is bad enough, but every time I go into search, the “All” button is defaulted to on, so this process happens every time I use the app. Ever since you decided you a music streaming service that also sells speakers, your app has progressively gotten worse and worse. Your terrible forced upselling of your subscription service has had the opposite effect on me. I am downselling Sonos forever.
