  1. 5/5Got to be the worst UI ever

The concept is simple. Use the RF tags on my clubs to track every shot. Look at the results later. However, during a round you also have to tap on this UI constantly while interrupting your round. I shot an entire round today, tracked every shot. Half of them were set to the first hole because the app went to sleep and when I resumed it, it went back to zero. Each time the app resets I have to resume the round and reset every option for brightness etc. I have never seen something so utterly frustrating in my life. This is an app made for golf, a sport that requires flow and concentration and this app is doing everything possible to distract me and take me out of my game. If I tag a shot on the 5th tee, how is it possible it thinks is the 12th shot of hole 1?? Why do I pull my phone back out and the scanner is hidden and I have to go to the map and back to the scanner again. Why, why, WHY. This is the most horrible app ever. Absolute garbage.

  2. 3/5This app COULD be a hole-in-one.

Overall the app is good, but it could be much better. They need to bring all the stats that are on the web version to the app. It’s a pain that in order to see the data that matters I have to whip out my computer. Wish they had dark mode. Wish you could actually share round data rather than just screenshots of rounds or holes (they’re missing out on huge marketing here as I’d love to send a round to you friends). After editing a round you have to say “Sign Off” which is a really confusing phrase especially when they refer to it as Save everywhere else in the app (and there is Sign Out in other parts of the app). Doesn’t seem like it’s been tested on iPhone 12 mini as all page titles hit the top of the screen. “Courses” and “Course Hub” are confusing to me. Don’t know the difference. Club filtering is annoying as it scrolls back to the beginning whenever you select a club. All-in-all the app and product is really good, but there are small tweaks and improvement that could make it great. They need to keep investing in cleaning things up and bringing more and more data to the app. This product is better than Arccos because they focus on the data. If they double down on that they will grab market share from serious golfers looking to better understand their game.

  3. 3/5Poor at Best

The problem is with the App. (1) Uploading rounds is a pain. I click to sync rounds and it just stops or sticks at a certain percentage, usually 97%. I have to uninstall the app, reinstall, hard reset the Shot Scope device and then it will sync. (2) You can not edit your score or round until after it’s synced. This can not be done without adding missed shots after the round. This is near impossible on the app as nothing works. How am I supposed to remember what shots were taken over the course of an 18 hole round if not captured during the round? Especially when I have to wait to get to a computer. Wouldn’t it be better to be able to do it during the round or to have a functional app that actually allows simple stroke additions or score changes.3) App is terrible. It is constantly freezing and I am constantly having to uninstall and then reinstall it. I click to edit round and nothing works. I have to do all of this on the website page. Generally, the data is awesome and I love the device, but there needs to be some serious work on the app before this is user friendly.

  4. 5/5I have H4 and this is awesome

I just got my H4 last week played for the first round this Sunday. And I love this app device combo. The biggest part for me is there no subscription fee. I get my strokes gained data and now I know it to work on for the following week. If you don’t know, you can either 1. do the tags with the app only or 2. you can have a device with the app and tags. I highly recommend the device. It is so tiny. It’s just half the size of a golf ball. You tap your tag to the device right before or right after your shot and you move on. I really don’t wanna be playing with my phone or looking at my phone while I’m playing golf just focusing on the shots and my routine. This was perfect for that. I’ll update my review again in like a year or a few weeks. But I haven’t made a review for in like 10 years so this is just absolutely I want to support these guys thank you so much.

  5. 4/5Newbie but I still recognize it needs improvement

I really love the data I can accumulate to improve my game and really dig that ShotScope sensors are included and no extra cost for subscription. That key difference is why I went w/ ShotScope. Generally, the automatic scoring works. But on 3 or 4 occasions while golfing the round was not captured. In one instance, the GPS got lost on a specific hole at the tee box which had been under construction and the rest of the round was goofed up. I lost data for 9 holes when it was an 18-hole round and while golfing the watch looked like it was keeping pace and recording data. I also don’t understand the discrepancy between manual scoring and automatic scoring. When confirming a score while in “Pin Collect” mode is that the manual score? I thought it was me confirming what the watch had calc’d for my score. Key point: if distance to the pin is your main reason for buying/wearing a device this one is highly accurate, very comfortable and easy to use.
