  1. 5/5Taking my game to the next level

I started playing in my late 20s, 43 now, so I had no clue about course management as I never played on a team or anything just with friends and the occasional tournament. Getting down to a single digit handicap I hit a plateau of improvement. I did find some info on course management which helped but until I found decade I did not have the tools to really understand and implement course management. Understanding decade strategies and relying on them has really helped me play my best and removed a lot of the stress and frustration as well as understand what I need to work on and how to do so to really shave strokes off my game. I am now a 5 handicap and really feel that I can reach my goal of dropping to a 2 handicap or better by the end of this 2025 season. Excited to see the progress and learn from each mistake along the way. Knowing how to properly select the proper target and being committed to your decision is key to this game, and decade provides you with the knowledge and tools to do so. No matter what level you are playing at now, decade will help you, if you commit to it, period.

  2. 5/5Essential to improve at golf

If you want to shoot lower scores and your swing is decent, my advice is to play a lot with a player who shoots the scores you want and learn how they manage around the course. If you’re like me and don’t have regular playing partners who are at that level, you must use Decade to learn how to navigate this game at the highest level. Simply googling golf course management will give you too generic of tips, many of which are simply incorrect, like playing less than driver club off the tee “to get the ball in play”. (Fyi, the correct tip is to practice more with your driver and/or get lessons and turn it into a weapon. You should be bummed when the correct play is less than driver 😁) The Decade system is based in math and strokes gained statistics. The app continues to improve. Scott holds regular webinars to answer questions and explain nuances.

  3. 5/5Open your eyes, new way to approach the game

May seem simple to some, I’ve played golf my whole life…after decade golf is easier. Great mental thoughts and reasons to play shots you KNOW you can hit vs. HOPE you can hit. The elite membership with stats tracking is my favorite golf purchase in the last 10 years. I can’t believe someone made the software that enables regular players to track a few stats and have strokes gained numbers available to them for their personal game. Keep it coming. Will have a subscription for a long time.

  4. 3/5Could Be Great

The app is so embarrassingly bad. My team and I struggle to enter rounds without constant crashing and lock ups. Back end management is scattered and disorganized. Also, as a coach, I have to download and use THREE separate apps to effectively use all functions. Scott’s approach to the game is totally effective but the app makes it cumbersome. If the app is difficult to use my players don’t want use it. If they don’t want to use it then what’s the point? Also, why can’t I delete or modify my player’s rounds? IE sometimes they enter a practice round as a tournament round. It happens. But once it’s in I can’t edit it and they haven’t figured out how they can either (see above about the app being cumbersome). Could be so good but it’s just not right now. If there isn’t a massive update and convergence of three apps into one, we’ll be looking elsewhere for next season. I pray it gets fixed. I’d be glad to beta test it as well.

  5. 5/5Exactly what I was looking for.

The Decade app is, as the title indicates, ‘Exactly What I Was Looking For!’ I have a junior golfer in the family who has a very nice swing, very athletic and coordinated. At 14, he has been playing golf for about 4 years. He hits lots ta of really great shots, but also has an issue that errant shots wind up costing him big time. He will make three pars in a row, then hit one OB, over compensate on the next, into the trees, and put up a quad or something. Then, understandably, gets frustrated and the negative self talk starts and the downward spiral begins. I think that many of us are very familiar with that syndrome. The Decade system provides education and methods to reduce the occurrence of the OB that triggers the whole thing and how to deal with the results of it does happen. This young man has plenty of potential to be a great golfer, but needs to learn every bit of this material. We have already begun seeing results.
