1. 5/5Worthwhile learning curve to Great App!!

   I’ve tried and explored a lot of the available golf apps. My goal is to record my round without distraction while playing, without sensors. I like to see club distances during play and learn from my play so as to know how best to direct my practice. This isn’t a perfect app, but it gets the job done very well and offers as much or as little feedback as you may want. There is a learning curve and in that period it is easy to become frustrated feel undesirably distracted from the round or your surroundings. The benefits of using this app once you are comfortable with entering whatever info you wish to provide during the round - and after the app has learned your game better (at least 3-5 rounds, the more the better) - is well worth it. Its tracking is very good and as good or much better than most of the other sensor-less apps out there. Is this Arccos - no; are its maps as good as garmin watch - not quite, but the information is still there; does it cost as much as those two -no; do you get nearly as much useful feedback - I think so!! Try it and stick with it, it’ll pay off!!

2. 5/5Improve your game!

   This is an amazing App for serious golfers who want to improve their game and lower their handicap. I am a retired scientist and mod-handicap golfer who likes to see data. Been a long time Arccos fine but wanted to go on a Tangent. The App tracks your shots without the need for sensors on your clubs and works well with an iPhone, Apple Watch and even better if paired together. Once it understands your game, the AI caddie will make club recommendations. It provides you Strokes Gain information on the four major categories: Driving, Approach, Short Game and Putting. But in addition to that, it provides much more granular analyses for example, in the Short Game category, it gives you strokes gained from the fairway, rough and sand. There’s a great after round performance review where it provides feedback in a custom Tangent Four spider graph identifying strokes lost due to 3-putts, two chips, recovery shots and penalties. It’s very motivating to read “you shot x score but you had the potential to shoot y score if you correct these mistakes”. I highly recommend this App for its features. Check it out if you are serious about your game.

3. 5/5This is the App!

   After using this app my game has really improved! I have used many golf apps but there are none that have actually let me know what and where I need to improve. This app analyzes every aspect of my game, (tee shots, long irons, short irons, approach shots, putting and much more), displaying each shot I make on a graphic that is easily understood and easy to read! It also lets me set the handicap I would like to achieve and lets me know how I did in each aspect of my game in reaching that goal ( where I improved and where I still need work toward reaching my goal), allowing me to improve in baby steps without getting discouraged. The caddie mode is excellent in giving real time wind speed and direction and suggesting what club or iron to use based on my input of the distances I hit each club or iron! If you are using any other app and serious about improving your game for the better, I suggest switching to this one, there is no other app that has come close in helping me as much as this one has! It has really worked for me and I am sure it will work for anyone else as well!

   Over the last few years I have used multiple golf apps to analyze my game and help me to improve. This is far and away the best I’ve found. I hesitated a bit at the price but after the free trial I knew it was going to be worth it. I subscribed after only one round and expect to be a user of Tangent for a long time to come. I did communicate with the developer about an addition to the app that I would like to see; a greens reading map. He explained that the reason for not having it was the prohibitive cost of acquiring that technology. I totally understand but I hope that the Tangent app is so successful that it can be added later. I for one would be happy to pay a bit more if that feature were added. This app not only tells me what I need to work on but also provides the drills I need to use to improve those areas of my game. I also really like that I can open a round later and edit the data for accuracy. Thanks to the developer and best of luck reaching the golfing world with this extremely useful app.

   I have been a user of a different tracking system for several years (one that requires little green sensors screwed onto the club handle). I tried Tangent after seeing Adam Young recommend it. My impression from my first trial round wasn’t positive, but it was mostly user error. Tangent’s CEO, Dallas, engaged with me directly to work through the crashing I experienced, and he figured out the problem. Now, the system is seamless and simple. I strongly recommend you use Tangent with an Apple Watch. You should also carefully review Dallas’ instructional videos in the app, and then, honestly, just PLAY! It works SO well with the Apple Watch, and gives great on-course information and solid post-round feedback and data with minimal effort. For me, Tangent is simpler and more reliable than the other system (which wasn’t bad, but struggled with putting especially for me). My only wish: Direct connection to submit scores to GHIN for official handicap tracking (if it’s there, Dallas, I can’t find it!).
