5/5I’ve limited issues personally
I have been using it at work, via my iPhone hotspot on my iPad mini (2021) for 5-8 hrs a day. I’ve had no issues at all basically when using it with my PS5. First your console needs to be on, or in rest mode, NOT totally off. The proper settings need to be turned on as well, which should be an easy search online on “how to make it work” if you’re unsure. It does what it’s supposed to for me. It plays my games away from home. Here’s some stuff to note from my experience I think; I am only playing offline games or with minimal online connection, I played a PS4 disk game, PS5 disk game and a downloaded game all with the same stability. I had minimal issue with stability, I was using the standard setting for quality, you can give it more oomph to use more data or if you have wifi. It would stay HD most of the time, and sometimes lose quality. Rarely was I getting the connection issue icon, which is good, because I’m playing in a sort of weird spot for network. Anyway, check your settings and restart your devices. I know it’s obnoxious but I can’t understand why others are having issues as bad as they say, however some of these reviews are older.

4/5It’s Pretty Ok, But A Bit Underbaked
I really enjoy the convenience that comes from being able to stream my games through my phone. It’s fun to play online as long as I have a good Wi-Fi connection. Overall, good. However, the only problems are that the app tends to be quite finicky and janky. You can’t tab off the app without having to reconnect to the Playstation all over again. This definitely makes it inconvenient to receive texts or phone calls since answering them would mean having to reconnect all over again. Another problem I find is that Bluetooth compatibility with controllers can be weird as i’ve had issues where I couldn’t connect to my Playstation until I had disconnected my controller from Bluetooth first. Other times, in ranked games I play, the controller can sometimes disconnect from your phone and would require you to reconnect by closing out the app and reconnecting to the Playstation again. This problem has gotten me flagged for being AFK multiple times and there’s no easy work around. I hope Sony could give this app some TLC and make it a lot more streamlined and more accessible to use without having other things being super inconvenient

1/5PLEASE READ! Anti-Consumer Practices
Sony is setting a dangerous precedent by consolidating control over PlayStation game distribution into a closed digital ecosystem, creating conditions for monopolistic pricing power, reduced consumer choice, and unfair anti-consumer practices. Additionally, future games would become far less preservable, and users would be pushed further away from meaningful ownership and toward revocable digital licenses. Based on this dangerous precedent, Sony would fail to honor the reasonable consumer expectation that games purchased in full should remain accessible, preservable, transferable, and not entirely dependent on one company’s storefront or account system. Implementing a digital-only marketplace would not allow users a fair choice in how they obtain their games and media. This is not only dangerous for consumers, but for the hobby as a whole. This loss, however, does not fall only on consumers. The short-term savings Sony expects from abandoning physical media may be outweighed by the long-term damage to consumer trust, brand loyalty, preservation, retail partnerships, and competitive positioning. A digital-only future may appear efficient on a balance sheet, but it risks alienating the very customers who have supported PlayStation as a platform, a collection, and a physical-media ecosystem for decades.

4/5Lots of Potential!
This app has a lot of potential for the future. After attempting to give it a test with Apex Legends, I came to the realization that I simply cannot press all the buttons needed at the same time when under combat. The controls disappeared after a few seconds and I ended up pressing outside the button boundaries. I have not yet tested an external BT controller, so I might see if it has this functionality at a later time. But as for using it to control apps and services. It works great. The chat function works great, but it would be a nice feature addition to use it for only chat with no game audio or video. The quality and framerate is amazing if you have a 100mbs+ internet connection from both host and target networks. As this app was just released this morning, I'm sure there are lots more features and functionality planned as the technology evolves. Overall, this app works great as a way to play simple arcade or basic controlled games and is a nice remote, but not ideal for playing FPS or more robust games where you need better hand eye coordination. We’ll see what time has to offer.

4/5Great but its missing one thing or two
The thing that it’s missing is the buttons since the buttons are super big because i have a iPhone 6s Plus the buttons are big that I accidentally tap on the other buttons while I’m playing need for speed payback I accidentally put the button to tune the car or when I play fortnite (I’m lazy and don’t want to download the game on my phone because it’s a waste of battery and time and memory space on my phone so I play on the games of my PlayStation on my phone witch is fun and add a option in the the setting where you can customize the buttons where you can put them somewhere else on the screen and make them smaller and one more thing that it needs is that you can use the daulshock and play on the phone without the one thing that one thing happening and the two the two things that I’m asking please because someone’s tv or monitor might break so they can play on their phone or tablet with or without the daulshock that are the two things that I’m asking right now and other people might appreciate it a lot and I mean a lot and by the way mention the in the news and more people or going to use it
