1. 5/5Update made app useless for an iPhone 7

   I have had One Medical for several years & have liked the service & the app. But now I cannot open the app because it works only with iOS 16. I have an iPhone 7 which won’t upgrade to iOS 16. This is REALLY disappointing as it makes the app useless. The app tells me to upgrade but when I hit “upgrade” it takes me to App Store where I’m told to open the app. When I hit “open” I’m back at the app telling me to upgrade. Update: since writing above I’ve been locked out of my account on my computer & told to change password but it doesn’t send the password reset. I wrote to tech support at One Medical & have not gotten a response. Also, I originally submitted this review a day ago & it has not shown up on the App Store. What’s with that? I’ve been really happy with One Medical up til now & recommended it to others. But all these tech problems are frustrating.

2. 2/5For the love of god fix family logins

   This has been issue I’ve raised for a few years. And was told it would be changing. With our first child we where told that I would need to use a different email address, and log in and out of the app to go between their information and mine. Two separate accounts. Then with the second child three years later, it continues to be unresolved and we have to use a THIRD email address, logging in and out. Add my partners membership and this one App has us logging in and out with FOUR different email addresses in order to access a significant aspect of what we are paying One Medical to be a part of: convenience. Making and changing appointments, video visits , lab results, messaging care providers etc. Permissions and multiple accounts under one login has been solved. It is wild to me as someone who works in Tech that this is still the experience for One Medical. If My Chart and our local hospital systems can figure this out, why is One Medical not making similar changes. HIPPA already addressed child/parent privacy concerns so that cannot be the issue. Please please please fix this. I want to switch profiles within the App without having to log in and out. And remember which email address I used for which person.

   I signed up for this Amazon-backed medical service expecting convenient, competent care. What I got instead was a complete waste of time and money. My initial physical was shockingly superficial—the doctor barely examined me. I had blood work done, but I don’t recall even a basic check like listening to my heart. It felt rushed, careless, and borderline negligent. Things only got worse from there. I needed a referral for a sleep apnea study, so I scheduled a telehealth visit. That appointment was essentially pointless. The doctor asked no questions, vaguely said they’d “get back to me,” mentioned some at-home study options, and then… nothing. No follow-up, no referral, no action whatsoever. Despite providing zero actual care or outcomes, they still charged me for the visit. When I contacted both the office and billing department—armed with clear documentation through their own app showing that nothing was done—I was told it didn’t matter and that I still had to pay. This service is disorganized, unhelpful, and completely unaccountable. It feels less like healthcare and more like a billing machine. I strongly recommend going literally anywhere else for medical care. If I could give zero stars, I would.

4. 1/5Would avoid One Medical

   First let me start by saying that I’m a physician and pretty familiar with the workings of a medical practice. I joined One Medical because I thought that they would be easier to deal with with their app and focus on electronic communications. That was true at first but now it takes days to get response. The app says that typical response time from the medical team is 3 days and from administrative team the same. I sent them a request for insurance referrals for routine matters (yearly cancer screen from my dermatologist, etc and one rather urgent follow up with podiatrist after breaking my toe). The administrative team sent me referrals on paper but didn’t set them up properly with my insurance company (poor training) so that they were invalid. I called the customer service number and the representative, not a clinician but guy with a sort of affected joy and excitement in his voice told me that he’d send a message to my provider because he couldn’t do this as a non-clinician. I got a call the next morning that my provider wanted me to set up a remote visit to review my requests. I missed one appointment and didn’t have the luxury of waiting to schedule a remote visit. So I waited until my lunch break and did an on demand urgent visit. The clinician apologized for what happened and spoke to her supervisor who had her advise me that they would get back in touch with the rep that I spoke with yesterday and make sure that he got my referrals. So I wasted a PAs time with an unnecessary urgent visit, wasted my time managing all this wasted my dermatologists time with a visit I couldn’t make not having the necessary referral. Why pay $200 yearly for this when you can just see any clinicians office and get the same run around?

5. 2/5Used to be incredible, AI ruined it

   Prior to AI the OneMedical app was probably the best Primary Care platform anywhere - and I don’t say that lightly. Now that AI has “improved everything” the app is horrible. Used to be booking a visit was a quick and easy calendar list and now you have to answer a series of questions just to get offered some appt slots, and you can no longer choose from a list. Want to refill a mediation? Used to pick from your list - fast, easy, works every time. Now AI takes many minutes to figure out what you’re taking and THEN separately figure out what can be renewed and THEN you finally get asked which you want to refill. But then AI wants to help you with the refill - not help actually refilling it, but help you “manage” your refill in myriad slow ways - before you can get to a spot where you think you’ve accomplished a refill. No joke it can take 30 minutes to get here and it used to be start to complete in 2 minutes. AI has made everything worse with this app. Maybe 5 years from now it will improve but it’s garbage right now.
