2/5Issues with the portal a.k.a. the app
Sometimes things we need to talk to her doctors are not listed and they don’t get routed correctly. You should put “other” category in there. I certainly appreciate the fact that I can reach out to my doctor and within a reasonable amount of time 2 to 4 days I can get a response from him for something that’s not urgent. However, the portal is not very intuitive and it does not run smoothly. Constantly shutting down in the middle of researching things are looking at your reports your test shots on you. I know that I tried four times today to key out a message to my doctor and as I was going through an editing for grammar and spelling mistakes before I sent it the app shut down, and I had to retype it 4 different times. About care in general: whoever is answering calls some of them need a better bedside manner. Sometimes labs and results appear in our portal before a doctors had a chance to see them and it can be a bit frustrating to not understand why there’s a red ! There. I can be a bit frustrating cause you’re wondering if you’re dying or not. The other thing is that I have been with my PCP for 13 years before he was ever in this office. The practice has gotten so big it’s nearly impossible to schedule an appointment in the portal because as soon as he has availability is three months out. Best thing about the portal is that I have four different doctors that I see in Baylor Scott in White I like the fact that my information is available to all four of those physicians along with all my medication’s in my medical I don’t have to remember to update this doctor about something and they can see everything right there. To me that is that is invaluable, and it ensures that care from one doctor doesn’t override care from another doctor, and provides care from 360 perspectives.

WOW! How blessed am I having such an amazing, experienced medical team guiding my diabetes care plan for years. I am always greeted warmly from reception, to checking in with the nurse. It is often that I get to speak to both doctors, if only in passing, not just the one I have an appointment with. I have been coming here for two decades. Here I’ve been guided in best practices for managing my type 2 diabetes—from nutrition to a progression of medication that helped me manage my diabetes and maintain blood sugar control. As new medicines have become available on the market, these informed doctors converse with me about them and possible logical next steps, such as the Ozempic semiglutide I began in June of 2022, and I’m now taking with great results. I’ve seen success personally in maintaining my overall health and well being after having diabetes for 27 years. 4/5App Needs Some Improvements
I access this app to view documents, appointments, test results and communicate with drs offices for my 77yo father. I’m able to navigate things myself but it’s not very user friendly for older patients. This should be streamlined in a way that makes it much easier for older patients to navigate and access their information. For example accessing test results takes extra clicks to links within messages to access when they could be simplified by clicking on “test results” and viewing a list of results by date with a comprehensive naming for the result so that I know what type of test it was before opening them. Instead I have to click “test results” and then click a link in a message to view them not knowing what results I’m viewing until they open. Also, I would suggest adding a feature for archiving messages in bulk or at least having an option to slide left or right to mark messages as “read”. There are multiple other improvements like these that could improve the user experience for this app and more importantly make this easier to navigate for elder patients. Overall I’m able to get the information I need for my dad and give it 4 stars. However, I doubt that the elder community currently utilizes this much due to the difficulty they likely have with navigation and overall user experience.

5/5All-Around Really Great Healthcare App
Although far from perfect when first released, BSW has continually updated and improved upon the UX and features of and functionality of this app. It seems like every few months or at least twice a year, I logon and notice a new or improved aspect of the experience. Just now I went in to schedule a general wellness checkup and and the UX was seamless and intuitive and better than the last time I scheduled online because once again they have made positive changes; In previous / providers providers I’ve seen before but this time it had me put in a location and then showed me all the available providers in that area. I still selected my current PCP because I’ve been seeing her for many years but it’s nice to see the other options and have more flexibility. I also love that any action taken in the portal for example getting a message or making an appointment or paying a bill, is immediately confirmed via email and text and MyChart message too. The processing speed is very quick. The only thing I’ve ever had trouble with that I can recall is sometimes the Video Visit feed has had issues either with Audio or the video freezing. This could have been a Wi-Fi issue but there’s no way to know for sure. Mostly though like 8 out of 10 times it works fine and the fees is clear and consistent for the whole video visit. Overall, love this app and love my Baylor S&W providers and staff! The receptionists and refill coordinators are always helpful and kind. Tversions, when I’d go to set up an appointment it would only list my current providers/ providers

As another patient said before this USED to be a great app. My husband and mother could go on and look at labs, visit notes, etc. it’s ridiculous. I have been diagnosed in October of 2017 with a new illness. I’m seeing multiple providers for this issue. I required about 10-12 vials of blood to be drawn. I have a port because my veins are useless. So 2 of my other specialists sent lab requests over to Texas Oncology because they drew from my port. These were extremely important tests. It’s been over a month and not only have the labs not posted but there was no mention of my low iron that I have treatments for. In addition my physician got a little agitated saying that having all those tests run there was not going to work. He said he doesn’t read those labs and since it’s under his name he could be liable. Well, ok they are the ones who suggested this because it’s nearly impossible to draw from my veins. So I’m kinda stuck. I’ve sent messages thru this ridiculous “portal” which was the one thing baylor had going for it and now it’s useless too. Lastly I have a patient portal thru Texas Oncology and it’s no better. I don’t know what happened but it’s a real shame and disappointment because you can never get info by calling dr or nurse. Standard is “ let me pull that up and I’ll call you back or I’ll send results to your email. You are forgotten before the phone hangs up!
