   So, compared to having had the 670g not being able to do anything like this and now the 780g, this is amazing that we have the availability to sync to our phones and also loved ones. Overall, it’s a nice and smooth interface. High on my wish list of things I wished the app did is; I wish that it were able to connect to AppleHealth like Dexcom does and all of that information goes into the Health app. Definitely wish there were widgets that could be made— that’s something that I think would help ease a lot, instead of having to go in the app or the pump, all you’d have to do is have a widget on your Home Screen and your sugars are right there. It’s also hard to find a watch face that allows me to add the app on watch faces— I literally had to go through a bunch of different faces just to see which ones allow you to display your current sensor reading as a complication. I really wish that we could add in different foods that we’re bolusing for and then we’d be able to see how different foods affect our blood sugars. It would also be nice to have more than just the last 24 hours worth of Time In Range for when you swipe left. Even being able to create all of the reports here in the app, instead of having to go online and generate reports through there would also just kind of streamline everything. So, can the engineers make the app sort of like a one-stop-shop, possibly? For sure to connect to AppleHealth, the widgets and watch faces and adding which foods we eat are the most important. Well, to me, they’re all really important but at least those things. Overall, decent app, though.

2. 1/5Poor form

   I was excited to switch back to the minimed after using Omnipod, but now that I can no longer utilize the app to view my blood sugar on my phone or watch I am seriously considering returning to the Omnipod/Dexcom combo. I am a mom with a toddler as well as a healthcare professional, my hands are often full and not being able to glance at my device and be aware of my blood sugars has become a true impediment to the control and management of my diabetes. It has now been almost three months since the iPhone update with no corresponding compatibility update for the app. Not only have I seen a discernible change in the degree of control I have with my blood glucose, but I have also seen nothing from Medtronic updating patients on the app issue or offering any insight or reassurance to its continuity. Why is this not more of a priority for you, Medtronic? This isn’t candy crush, it is an important tool in managing a chronic illness and directly impacts patient care. Please update your app or I fear I’m not the only one who is goin g to start ‘podding’.

3. 4/5Good but missing a few needed features

   The app does what it’s designed to do which is to send some pump and sensor information to your phone and watch. However, it would really help it it was more bidirectional and allow bolus from phone/watch, silencing of alarms from phone/watch, suspend or temp target from phone/watch, etc. There seems to be a communication bug from time to time where the app will say that it is updating info from the pump, but never does. Shutting down the app and restarting will usually fix the problem and re-establish communication. Communication to the watch also seems a bit buggy at times and unreliable and will not always show info when accessible on the phone.

   Keep trying to log in to have my phone and watch connected and it keeps saying pump pairing lost!! It could use a much needed update/bug fix and this tool is supposed to help manage diabetes easier but it has been doing the complete opposite!! With me being busy all the time, still having to check to recalibrate the sensor is super annoying!! I will try to recalibrate it and sometimes it works but 90% of the time it tells me to insert a new sensor so they haven’t been lasting the full 7 days and it takes 2 hours to warm up so I’ve been thinking about returning it because it has been impractical and inefficient for the last 5-6 months. When I first got it a little over a year ago it worked perfectly and now it seems like it’s not working at all other than displaying blood glucose to the pump but what’s the point if I can’t see it on my watch or phone if I don’t have time to check or busy doing something. With a few fixes I’m sure I would definitely keep it but at this point it’s a waste of money and time unfortunately 😢😡

5. 2/5Needs vital additions/fixes!

   While it’s great that there is an app in the first place, a few things that need to be fixed to make this an actually useful app… The watch complication doesn’t update until you open the watch app, which means if you want to check it for a second time in 5 minutes, it’s there, but after that it shows nothing, and you need to wait for the app to talk to the phone, which talks to the pump to get all of the missing data and update the complication, which can take upwards of 10-15 seconds, rather than just updating in the background and being there at a glance, which makes it rather useless as a complication. THIS NEEDS TO UPDATE IN THE BACKGROUND! The second issue is that you can’t silence an alert from the phone or watch. Inevitably, it’ll tell me something that needs to be responded to immediately while I’m driving, and then I need to dig it out from my belt under the seatbelt, pull it out, read it, and silence the alert on the pump, rather than just hitting Acknowledge on the watch. Oh, and I have to do this all with the pump upside down, because the pump screen doesn’t have a way to flip 180 degrees! It would be even better if I could bolus from the phone or watch… that would be a game changer. We need two-way communication with the pump from the phone and watch!
