   I was finally able to get rid of my regular grocery store that was overcharging me more and more and more as time went on. I am a senior citizen on a fixed income. I watch every penny and I pinch them. But I like good food. I buy only organic, wholesome food. My grocery store was starting to price me out of these foods, pushing the Big Name Companies who are all now on the Bioengineered wagon. NO THANKS. I'm very happy to say that now that I get Imperfect Foods delivered, I can buy the organic, simple nutritional food that I love and not go broke. The quality is excellent, the selection is everything I could possibly need, and the delivery is fantastic. I don't mind a few pieces of fruit that have blemishes, or that maybe might be too small for the regular grocery stores. They taste great. My father used to tell me, (and my father was a green thumb farmer), that "the uglier the vegetables and fruits, the tastier they are." 😊 And I love how I'm able to call the shots, so to speak. If I don't need groceries, I just tell Imperfect Foods don't bring me anything and they don't. I thought about this for a long time before I did it. I wish I had gone ahead and done it a long time ago. If you are thinking about it, don't delay. You will not be disappointed.

2. 4/5Any unhappy issues are my own not Imperfect Produce

   I have been a customer for over two years, maybe 3 and any issues such as not liking automatic fill items, overcharging, forgetting to order or skip etc are issues that the app gives you every opportunity to rectify. The company has been wonderful about skipping and order if caught in time, credits, and answering any concerns I have ever had. I have to put a disclaimer in here in that I am very forgetful and get busy so miss my date but that has been my fault because IP sends texts as reminders and does everything they can to help you avoid this, all of which I appreciate. My biggest complaint is the ripeness and the size one often receives in produce. Many times I have ordered avocados which were the size of silver dollars with no meat and all seed, fennel that is the same ultra small size, pears that were so hard as to be a week away from ripening, etc. On the flipside, I have been please with the spices, the cheese selections, the butter, the fish, the olive oil, and many other items I have chosen. I love the mission of the company and after working in a wholesale capacity in grocery stores seeing the amount of perfectly fine food thrown away daily in stores, I feel this little bit I can do to save food from the dumpster is well worth the effort I must place in this process with IP. Keep up the good work and sourcing fun products….and thanks for your vision.

3. 4/5Awesome enough to put up with

   I’ve used Imperfect Foods for years because the food is high-quality, the mission aligns with my values, and I genuinely enjoy the surprises. The whole appeal is getting an interesting assortment of odds and ends, so being slammed by algorithmic monotony feels especially backwards. The cart is open from Thursday to Sunday evening (not midnight) for a Wednesday delivery. It’s easy for me to miss my chance to make edits. (ADHD?) I often get the default cart which tends to send the samebthings over and over again. At one point, I accumulated over 15 heads of garlic, three at a time. I finally put garlic into the “never send me this” box, only for the algorithm to start sending me tubes of garlic paste instead until i had five. I love garlic. I just do not need an endlessly regenerating garlic supply. The same thing has happened with cooking oil, chickpeas, and potatoes. I currently have 8 cans of tomato paste. The only reliable way to stop an item is to banish it completely, which means many of my favorite foods now live in grocery prison until I get to the end of the surplus and remember to let them out. Please add a pause option, item-specific cooldowns, and some kind of smarter automatic rotation. Certain groceries simply should not accumulate this quickly, and the automatic cart should offer more variety instead of repeatedly selecting whatever it chose last time. I love the service enough to keep using it. I would just prefer that its algorithm be more clever not convert my house into a storehouse for surplus grocery items.

4. 1/5Really disappointed since Misfits Market Merge

   I’ve been ordering from imperfect foods for over a year and was really disappointed when I heard that they were merging with Misfits Market. I started buying imperfect foods because I like what they stood for- saving food that would otherwise be discarded. Misfits market is basically just a regular grocery app with regular things you buy at a regular grocery store. since the merge they have been selling regular produce, regular brands that you can find in a store at the same price or even higher than you can get at a grocery store. Not only has the quality decreased and price increased, but the new App is now extremely difficult to navigate. I put orders on hold for the last month in favor of local farmers market produce, but as it’s fall I just turned my subscription back on. The box I received today had multiple incorrect items and the boxes are not packaged with care anymore. There were no ice packs in my order, and things looked like they were just thrown into the box. My strawberries were opened and crushed by a can of beans that were thrown on them. There were random pieces of cardboard laid on top of everything- the dividers that used to be used to divide things to keep things organized in the box. On top of the wrong items in the order and the app issues, they shorted my already very small shopping window- Shortening it from 4 days to 3. I just wish there was a competitor I could go to that was exactly what imperfect foods was before they sold out to misfits market.

5. 1/5Imperfect food at beyond perfect prices

   Had been wanting to try this out to reduce food waste, but after getting my first delivery, I’m very unimpressed with the items received. 2 out of 6 oranges were clearly rotting/spoiled. In general, the produce items were clearly bottom of the barrel rejects because of size (too small) or quality. That would be fine if the prices were lower, but you end up paying the same price or higher that you would pay for the nicer produce items that you would pick yourself at grocery stores. It’s like someone picking the worst produce items for you, and then charging you regular price or more. In addition, a lot of the items that they offer are essentially the same things offered at regular grocery stores but at higher prices, and the forced shopping is beyond stupid. If you forget to shop, then they pick a bunch of stuff for you, and you end up with food that you don’t want. That’s the very definition of food waste. Someone else had mentioned that after researching more about the company, a lot of the board members are from Walmart, etc. This makes sense. It’s the perfect scheme. Create a social image of preventing food waste and helping small local farmers, but in reality, you’re just off-loading the junk/seconds from your regular industrial complex farming retail process. All of that could be accepted and tolerated by some people (who are ok with supporting retailers that don’t pay fair wages and encourage manufacturing nearly everything in China), but on top of all that, they charge you the same or more for the privilege. No thanks…

   I HATE the new driver tip option. I obv appreciate them & the job they do, but absolutely fed up w/ the constant idea that I always owe more than the actual cost of the item I'm purchasing. Either bite the bullet and increase item costs or simply...idk...pay your drivers the $3.00 more per delivery that was so kindly automatically activated and added to my weekly bill without my permission. It's "optional," I know, but don't act like it doesn't put a mental burden on the customer.
