1. 1/5Worst! Endless errors hides tickets purchased often. Object errors on cancellation attempts.

   Truly awful app due to endless serious bugs for ages now. Many times tickets purchased disappear the day before movie time in either iPhone or iPad app or both. Sometimes they disappear days or weeks ahead and you don’t even know what you ordered and end up ordering unneeded more. Sometimes they even disappear from desktop browser website sign in and no way at all to even access ticket and you still see your seats reserved in the seating map but no way to get in without last second having to buy new tickets just to sit in the seats you had already paid for. SCAM! They don’t fix it since they want to constantly rip people off randomly for more cash about time to start class action lawsuit and start reporting to state AGs. Sometimes it simply won’t allow tickets to be purchased anywhere for a few days and says purchase can’t be completed (nothing to do with funding or CC block or anything even when trying to use Fandango cash.) Very often if you need to cancel it tosses up a red box with “Object Object” error and won’t let you cancel and thus rips you off. Very common with the apps but sometimes even using a desktop browser it will still toss that error and kindle it impossible. SCAM! They don’t fix since they want to rip people off randomly as much as possible. Oh and now you also have to select don’t sell my data like 20 times each time you try to do something.

2. 1/5Last Minute Ticket Purchase

   Never had a problem with Fandango until recently. I typically buy tickets for all the Marvel movies from the same app and for the same theatre. I decided to try out a different theatre and thought I selected the correct one, which turned out not to be the case. I bought these tickets about 5 minutes in advance, on the way to see the movie. Upon arriving I was told it wasn’t the correct theatre and that Fandango didn’t sell tickets to the closer theatre we had chose to drive to. Whatever. My fault, I’ll accept that. We found this out 5 minutes after the movie that was paid for started, and when going to the app we were met with the same error message saying we couldn’t get a refund. So a $40 gift card was just thrown out because we wanted to see a movie last minute. When asking the customer service email, we’re met with the same robotic response which is what their policy is and that’s once the movie starts you can’t get a refund. No questions. Which I think is ridiculous, and I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks this. For last minute movie buyers, there should be some sort of grace period. 10 minutes doesn’t feel like a big ask, and even if you’re not buying them last minute it should still be 10 min after the movie begins. I did end up paying for another set of tickets anyway, but now I’m out about $45 because of Fandango policy. I probably won’t buy off Fandango unless I have to, I’ll stick to going to the theatre beforehand or buying off the theatres website.

   Fandango might be an ok app if your evening goes as planned, but don’t expect any sympathy from them if they or the theatre you purchase tickets to don’t do their job. Three of us purchased tickets through Fandango to see an 8:45 movie on Halloween night (also my partners birthday), but were not given an option to assign ourselves seats. We get to the theatre and take our seats only to be told that we needed to move because we were sitting in another groups’ assigned seats. We move to new seats only to be told again a group had the entire row reserved. We move again and you get the point. At this point, it is past 8:45 and there are no longer three seats even available in the theatre because it was sold out. Workers at the theatre tell us that we should have been assigned seats when we checked in, but someone failed to do their job. We immediately purchase three more tickets through Fandango at another theatre 20 minutes away figuring Fandango will see we weren’t trying to pull one over on them, we just wanted to see a movie on Halloween. When we contacted Fandango the following day, they refused to refund the original purchase because they have a strict no refund after posted showtime policy. So that movie for three of us ended up costing over $90, even though this was clearly not our fault. I have been a long time user of this service too, but never again. I have heard many similar stories since so do not trust this app. I am taking my business elsewhere.

   **Title: Worst App Experience Ever! 🌟** I wish I could give this app zero stars. Fandango has managed to take everything that should be simple about buying movie tickets and turn it into a nightmare. First off, the app crashes constantly. I can't even search for a movie without the screen freezing up or the app completely closing on its own. When I finally do get it to stay open long enough to browse, the user interface is a confusing mess. Buttons are too small, the text is hard to read, and the layout looks like it was designed by someone who has never actually used an app before. But the worst part? Buying tickets. Oh man, where do I begin? I selected my movie and showtime, but when I tried to choose my seats, the app decided to randomly change my selection to a different theater in another city. Seriously? And when I finally managed to get the right theater and seats, the payment process was a disaster. The app wouldn't accept my perfectly valid credit card, and when I tried using Apple Pay, it just kept loading indefinitely. Don't even get me started on customer service. I reached out for help and got a generic auto-reply that did nothing to solve my problem. By the time I managed to buy my tickets (on the website, not the app), the show was sold out. Save yourself the headache and just go directly to the theater's website or use another service. Fandango's app is a joke, and not the funny kind. 📉

5. 1/5Worst Customer Service on the planet

   I will NEVER buy tickets through this app again. They have a very rigid no refund policy, no matter the circumstances. As a business owner, sometimes you have to be flexible and understanding of your customers request for a refund, especially when your business can be faulted for contributing to the issue at hand. I was able to purchase 2 children’s tickets to a R rated movie. This was for an animated movie. So as a parent, I admit that I wrongly assumed it was at worst going to be PG-13. But at no point in time did Fandangos app give me any warning that I am about to purchase Childrens tickets for a R rated movie! This is 100% a fault with Fandagos purchasing system and needs to be corrected asap! There should be some sort of disclosure that pops up that this purchase is for an R-rated movie and that the purchase of an adult ticket is at least required to proceed!!! Not to mention the actual rating for the movie could hardly be found anywhere on any of the listings for the movie within the app!!! I have screenshots of the listings and there is NO rating listed anywhere to be seen!! Long story short, I bring my teenagers to the theater and they are denied entry. And Fandango took my money and would not refund me! Blamed me for essentially not doing my due diligence as a parent but took zero accountability for the fact that I was able to purchase these two children’s tickets without an unaccompanied adult ticket for an R rated animated movie and that the rating was nowhere to be seen! No-one was able to see the movie with these tickets so a refund should have been honored!! Horrible business model!
