3/5Bugs and errors, hard to search and browse
I frequently get errors. I tried to report the error in the app using their email contact option, and that broke too. Couldn’t even send the feedback email. On top of that, it’s really hard to browse. It makes you pick a location first and then say your pickup times and drop off. But if your location is closed, they just say — nope, sorry. So you go back to square one and try the next location and hope the hours work out. Why not just have the user enter the pickup drop off times first, then show the available location — makes much more sense, right??!

I can’t understand why Europcar still hasn’t fixed their app or website to offer customers a smooth and pleasant experience. I’ve rented from Europcar before, but during my most recent attempt to pay for a rental upfront, things went sideways. Instead of checking one item off my to-do list, I ended up with an even bigger hassle. Although my card was charged, I received a technical error message on their website. I called customer service, only to speak with someone who barely spoke English and lacked the patience or professionalism to address the issue—in fact, the representative ended the call by hanging up on me. I tried again, this time dialing their international number (at my own expense), only to be told I needed to email their webmaster. I did, and while I received automated responses confirming receipt, no one has followed up. Since I live in the U.S., I thought there might have been a connection issue—naïvely giving them the benefit of the doubt. So I downloaded the app, hoping it would work better. Unfortunately, I couldn’t even log in. After a dozen failed attempts, I gave up and decided to write this review. While developers may not be able to fix the broader corporate mismanagement, they can create a functioning app—and honestly, it’s not that difficult, especially with the budget a company like Europcar should have. It’s a shame what this company has become. With a bit more focus on their infrastructure and customer experience, Europcar could easily be one of the top choices for car rentals.

1/5Worst Car Rental Service Everj
First of all, I’m a very considerate individual and as a rule I never really make critical comments about people, businesses or service providers. But I’ve got to admit, in all my years of traveling extensively across the globe I have never had a worse customer experience than what Europcar put me through. Europcar ruined my recent family vacation right from the very start and to cap it all up, their stooge who received the vehicle fraudulently extorted me by claiming bogus scratches on the rim for which Europcar charged me. If Europcar had requested they needed money I would have gladly donated, but extorting me by cooking up some bogus charges is beyond the pale. I wished I had never signed up to use Europcar. Well, this is one bad experience that will not repeat itself as I am never coming back, and I will make it my mission to prevent everyone in my immediate circle from making the same mistake by booking your services.

Whoever wrote the backend for this platform needs to quit their job and go back to intro to computer science. I clicked back on during booking on the website, and despite not showing any confirmation or indication, Europcar already charged my credit card. Because they also don’t have any support phone numbers listed anywhere, I had to dig deep into the internet and found their sales number, which they couldn’t find any reservation and told me to call back on Monday when their customer service opens. How can any rental not have 24/7 customer service, and the fact that they can charge me without any trail of evidence, nothing shows up on website, nothing shows up in this old looking app, even their sales can’t find my reservation in database and I can’t even get my money back. THANKS FOR RUINING MY DAY

1/5App charged me twice, still no confirmation email, refunded extra charge will take 2 weeks minimum
Easy enough to use and book a car. Submitted payment and then discovered I was charged twice (over $4200). Also, there was no confirmation email - do I have the rental? - but later there was an email sent to me to compelling me to complete the booking and that my car is still waiting for me (!) I reached out to Europcar to resolve the issue and now I’ve been told I have a reference number to handle my case but it may take up to 10 business days to refund the money they erroneously charged me - we can easily give them money, but when it’s their error, sorry, but we’re holding onto your money for a bit. My wife the lawyer is now mad as I should have stuck with our usual car rental company. Thanks Europcar!
