5/5Luv it!
Have used my IQ mini oven a few times along with the IQ sense and it has been a game changer for me. That’s was. I’m yes. I have a thing for helpful kitchen appliances. This is the best quality build I have experienced, thus far! I liked it so much, I just purchased the mini cooker and looking forward to my first cook in that. Love the recipes as well as being able to connect all my devices to the IQ app and pick up a cook either on the oven, iPhone, iPad and even a cheap Google tablet I use in my kitchen specifically for recipes. All one has to do is download the app on each device, connect your appliance to one device , login on the other devices and Presto! All connected. Eagerly awaiting recipes specifically for the mini oven which, when I ordered the unit, I called and was told they will be released very soon in June 2026. BTW, customer service on the phone was phenomenal and I actually was connected to an English speaking person on the phone in the USA. I so appreciate IQ not outsourcing overseas for that. Of course, there are many IQ sense recipes that utilize an oven and they can be modified to use the mini oven, as well as built in cooking for various meats and veggies. Really looking forward to mini-oven specific recipes. Fingers crossed, soon…Today is May 31, and yes, I am holding my breath!

5/5Next Level!
I am not a professional Chef. Never worked in a restaurant other than after hours with my buddies family restaurant. I’ve taken many cooking classes and have traveled and Italy also experienced cooking classe. With that said. I am the guy who created perfect cooked steak on my Weber Grill that would rival any Chicago Steak House. If your individual who is learning as you go meal by meal. All of Chef IQ products will make the meal from okay to excellent. If you’re an intermediate or experienced cook or chef. Chef IQ products will take your dishes and meals to the next level. Sous Vide is overlooked and under published. Makes whole russet potatoes taste like buttered mash potatoes with the texture of a baked potato. Seafood moist and flavorful cooked to perfection. Vegetables prepared par excellence! The thermometers are excellent for the beginner and saves the chef or advanced cook when they are distracted and working multiple dishes . Will notify when the meat or anything else cooking that a thermometer can be inserted. Bottom line any product from Chef IQ is outstanding and your family, and guest will be impressed and give you praise for the outstanding meal based on exceptional taste and done to order. Buen Appetit.

5/5Good enough
OK, I guess I’m being a little harsh, but here’s why. From a technology standpoint and the most important features and functions of the IQ Sense and accompanying app, it’s amazing. And I’m sure the recipes are all great too, if you want to scroll through them, all trying to find what you want. Because the search feature is borderline worthless. You could put in the word “chuck” because you want to get a chuck roast recipe and you’ll get recipes for chicken and tuna casserole and everything else. You could put in chuck roast and you’ll get a bunch of recipes completely unrelated to your search. So while the recipes are probably great, I don’t have the patience to scroll through every single one of them to find them the one that I want and that’s frustrating. So the technology gets five stars and the recipe feature gets one star.

4/5Alerts Inconsistent
Recently purchased the Chef IQ Smart Cooker 640. Easy to install and connect. ‘Talks’ to the device just fine. Review loses one star for two reasons. (so far) My first test worked beautifully, however, on the second attempt, (as I eventually figured out) the app could not communicate with ‘the cloud’ Tried various methods to reconnect. Wound up deleting and reinstalling the app. The other is that the alerts are not consistent. Been ‘playing’ with the sous-vide functionality, which starts with a pre-heat before actually adding the food. There is no alert when the preheat is complete, after multiple tests. (IMHO, there should be) That being said, I do get an alert when the cooking is complete. (Both sous vide and pressure cooking) and the best thing is that the alerts that are actually sent, are mirrored on the Apple Watch. On that note, a watch app would be awesome, that, in addition to the alerts, could show the remaining cook time. But that’s probably too much to ask. (Also a ‘Clear All’ option for all alerts). Other than that, great job.

4/5Lots of great features, the best so far
It measures accurately. I also like how the developers have coded in knowledge of various cooking techniques and have built in timers and notifications for steps in those techniques. So, you'll get time to flip, as well as early removal so that time to coast up to desired temp is observed. A lot of cooks will set the temp to the desired target, and not take the piece off until that temp -- not realizing that it will likely continue to increase in temp for about ten degrees F during the rest. Medium becomes well done, and they're confused. But not with Chef IQ. And that's a really nice feature. The other thing I really like is the base station, which you put near the cook, and it sends data via wifi to the app. Much better than Bluetooth, and the range is significant. Improvements? I have an offset smoker, so the numeral markers on each probe became black and basically covered over by the second cook. It would be much better to give each probe handle a distinct, bright color that would show through the glaze of the smoke. But here's the big one: a notification if the ambient temp drops below a certain degree. For offset smokers, cooks are a slave to watching the temp to make sure we don't lose the fire. We're often burning one log at a time, so this can be tricky. If we had a temp notification when it got too cold, we could free ourselves to focus on other things, a let the app dictate and even estimate when it was time to feed the fire. Overall, very happy!
