1. 3/5Why can’t I change my flight on Brex?

   I previous used TripAction, if I need to change a flight I can easily do it on the app. On Brex after I book a ticket specifically allow change for free, within 24 hours, it won’t let me change on the app, must go through agent. Then it takes much longer to do a simple 1 ticket change. Because they had to cancel my entire round trip ticket than rebook - risking me loosing my previous selected seat for the part of the flight that I didn’t need to change. Why can’t I just change it by myself on the app?

   This is one of the worst apps I’ve ever used and it’s really embarrassing for a banking app. The amount of time it takes to take an image of a check is about 1-2 minutes, the app doesn’t save organization names so they must be retyped in full constantly, and the processing it does is totally unhelpful. The app also doesn’t seem to successfully show check submissions and it attempts to reuse previously used check information for checks already deposited so it’s impossible to know if a previous deposit actually worked since reusing the check data indicates it doesn’t work. In the end, depositing even a small number of checks becomes an hour long process.

3. 1/5Good service, but app is unusable for reimbursements

   If the app just worked I’d love it. It takes me maybe 5-6 tries of opening and force quitting the app to be able to submit a reimbursement. During the process, when uploading a receipt, filling out details, and hitting submit - almost ALWAYS one of the fundamental buttons just doesn’t work. The ‘Submit’ button after filling everything out just doesn’t function, no matter what I do. It’s like you’re not even pressing it. That or even just pressing the + to submit a reimbursement. It’s ungodly infuriating. It sometimes takes me 30 min to submit two reimbursements with how much I have to just quit and start over. iPhone 16, latest software but have had this prob for months. PLEASE FIX THIS

4. 2/5Aggravatingly Limited

   I’ve used a few different deficient mobile apps over the year—Concur, Expensify—but for all my complaints, I find myself longing for their sweet embrace again. This app is a train wreck. iOS sharing functionality to Brex is extremely limited, it seems completely unwilling to believe that I might dare have a receipt in PDF format, and rather than assuming an unmatched receipt might be a new expense to ingest and process, it seemingly rejects it for lack of matching. Perhaps that works better if you exclusively use their payment card rather than a personal card. When it does work in its limited capability, it’s fine. Pictures seem to be fine for receipts, for example, but those longing to long press their hotel receipts into the app will not find relief here. Off thee to the web page and actual functionality.

5. 4/5Mostly Great, but…

   All around, Brex is a good service. A smooth interface, easy color scheme, functional menu, handy system, and general usefulness are a few of the good qualities. A++ to its multiple account capabilities (though currently only available on the website), super quick and free domestic wires, multiple company owner acceptance, text-back feature for receipt saving and such, great accounting help, and so on. The awfully long time it takes to deposit a check, the limited app features (though they say these will be resolved in coming months, at least as of Jan 2022), the lack of allowing several physical cards, the lengthy questionnaire forms for check & wire sending/receiving, the annoying incompatibility to instantly receive funds like any other bank via debit card transaction through services like PayPal or Venmo… yeah, these are all not great features. But overall, Brex has room to grow and improve. I could really see it becoming a seriously amazing, ultimate #1 business banking solution… and I’ll certainly update this review when it does. ;)
