  1. 5/5GREAT CAMERAS

I can give a real review and an honest one because I have been using these cameras for over a year and I love theme. They have great video + night vision and the two way intercom is so handy for when I’m at work and need to quickly say something to someone in my home. I have theme in every room of the house up in each corner which covers most of the room and also two out front, one above the porch roof aimed at the street and one above the front door aimed at the porch. They have motion sensors as well as a load beeping alarm that u can set to go off when motion is detected. You would expect to pay way more for such quality cameras but they deliver the right stuff for the right price and I can’t complain about that. I use the ye 1080 p home cameras and the ye out door cameras but they have many other choices. Easy set up and install. (hang- plug-sync-play) or u can just set theme up on a table or night stand whatever u like. The app allows u to monitor All your cameras in one spot and with the cloud service u can always go back and see what u need to see. They also have a memory card slot so if u don’t want to pay for the cloud service u can just install the card and call it a day. They also hook to your smart devices like Alexa and google. Thank u YE AND I HOPE THIS REVIEWS HELPS SOMEONE OUT THAT WAS NOT SURE.

  2. 5/5Decent camera for the price

It is a great camera for the price point. The images are clean and clear. The ability to save images to an SD card or to a cloud (with a minimal monthly/yearly premium as well) is a great option and one that makes this an attractive camera for many different people's needs. I like that it can pan & zoom and is quite responsive to controls. It starts recording a few seconds prior to the event so that the full event can be seen and/recorded if necessary to save it. Depending on your plan (we are on the least expensive cloud plan) & we are only be able to retrieve/record the event onto our phone for 7 days. Then it's gone. While you'd figure if some big event like a burglary happened you'd save the data right away but if someone wants/needs documentation of events for long periods then make sure to use an SD Card or save the events immediately or pay for the premium cloud plan. It has lots of options. It has night vision, hd or sd and auto which intelligently switches to the best recording option for the images & the current lighting. My favorite feature is the time lapse video. It has the ability to create neat time lapse videos on the images it captures. One could have a lot of fun with it. All in all I highly recommend for the minimal cost.

  3. 2/5Half decent cameras&app-BY NO MEANS top of the line

Pictures are mostly pretty clear. Microphone and camera works somewhat well to pick up surrounding sound but the speaker on the camera does not allow you to talk to anyone in the room because it just doesn't get loud enough. Pictures on the camera are OK but I would think HD would be a much better picture. As far as the app goes, you can't switch very seamlessly from one camera to the next. You actually have to back all the way up into the home screen of the app to select a different camera and go back through the menus to get to the new view. If I have four cameras in my house I would like to look at the cameras and switch from one to the next to the next and this app does not allow that. Also the large expanded view of the cameras looks like it's in landscape mode but the app does not go into landscape mode. Just the picture turns so it's not truly landscape, as in you cannot operate the app in landscape mode which is kind of a problem especially if you're using it on a device that you want to split the screen on so that you can monitor something while you are using another app on your device. also the app allows you to bookmark camera settings however they cannot be accessed in full screen mode so if you were looking at the picture in full screen and you want The camera to rotate, you have to back into the previous menu, select bookmarks, click the view you want to rotate to, and then go back into full screen mode. Pretty freaking useless. So if you want good functionality you're going to have to spend a little more money but for $35(per camera), it's not bad.

  4. 1/5They charge for their cams and make money from ads

Yi and Kami (same parent company) used to be good until they’ve slowly stripped away features and now displays ads before you can access your cameras. It is frustrating to have to deal with ads when you get an alert from your camera and cannot view the video right away. The biggest pros to these cameras was the built in SD card slots so you can have a SD card in them to record the video and not have to pay for cloud based storage or subscription. Now this company is requiring the purchase of their cloud “premium” subscription in order to remove the ads. I will be replacing their cameras with Kasa and Tapo cams, same SD card slots and functionality but without the ads. If you’re going to delay the viewing of my cameras with ads, then the cameras should be free. I do not appreciate displaying ads for cameras I’ve paid for. By the time I get through the ads, the event for the alert I’ve received has already passed. I am scared for not being able to view critical events right away, where each second counts. Update: And their response is to offer a discount on their premium subscription to remove the ads. What a shake-down! My Kasa and Tapo cams are ad free and works the same way. Buy those instead. (Sort the reviews by most recent and you’ll see how these cams used to be good. Now they are just money hungry. Yi and Kami are the same company so don’t buy Yi cameras either unless you want the same headache dealing with ads.)

  5. 1/5The ADs are soooo unbearable!!!

I’ve been using these cameras for 10 years and have consistently upgraded over the years to newer models. They were the only budget cameras at the time that had SD storage, so I got caught in the ecosystem. I currently have 8 of these cameras in my home and they were great in the beginning. There were absolutely no ads at first. Then they started showing pop ups to purchase cloud service which was kind of annoying but at least I could close it immediately. Then ads got more persistent. But I dealt with it. Now it’s a whole level of OBNOXIOUS!! When you open the app, it forces you to watch an entire ad before you can even look at your cams…it doesn’t give you an option to close the ad early and sometimes when you think you’re closing it, it opens the App Store for some app they’re advertising. This is also with loud sound on as it isn’t on mute by default, so you need to remember to silence your phone before accessing the app if you’re in public (in my case I’ve accidentally opened it at work without silencing it first and it was mortifying!). The latest nuisance they’ve added is once you’re in the app looking at your camera views, there are still constant ads that you can’t close. I’m finally done and have purchased all new cameras from a different company today. I bought one first to test out the app and there’s no ads, so I purchased several more cameras. Once they arrive and I get them set up, it’s ADIOS to Yi!!!
