1/5Garbage!
Customer service is useless- God forbid you sign up for a subscription, when you cancel your camera no longer saves free 10 second clips unless you upgrade a subscription ! 4 of my cameras worked perfectly until I subscribed for 6 months and cancelled. Now 4 of 8 no longer work! This nasty company disabled my cameras when I chose to cancel the storage plan. Software upgrades disabled another 1 of my cameras. Motion detection quit working on another of my cameras after I paid for storage. Lots of garbage with these cameras and customer service! Don't waste your hard earned money! There are much better cameras out! If you ever get ahold of customer service they will tell you your wifi signal is weak. This is a lie which means "They Don't Know!" 30 other electronics in our home work perfectly until, some are farther away than the ZMODO garbage! 1 camera is 15 feet from the router and failed after a software upgrade. They do NOT back their cameras and will NOT send replacements. NO, the cameras did NOT revert back. That is a lie. That is exactly what didn't happen and my cameras are now stuck in "no view" unless I resubscribe! They are no longer viewable or connected to wifi since I cancelled the subscription. You have rendered them useless. They worked perfectly fine until I subscribed. Poorly written coding!

1/5The company has to have been hacked
There's no way forcing ads on a security app, one required to download in order to use cameras that you spent hundreds of $ on, can be legal. This isn't some free mobile game, it's literally half of the camera functionality. Makes me think that they're jumping ship and just trying to scam as many people as they can before they finally just disappear one day. I'm buying new cameras TODAY and will have these removed by the end of the week. Edit: after receiving the same basic response as everyone else, it should be known that I don't pay for a subscription. Even if I did, this wouldn't make sense as a subscription is literally to cover the costs they stated. On the other hand, I have an NAS system so I don't use your cloud based services. The cameras are connected to the base with my local hard drive, and this newly ad ridden app is the only way to access them. Thus, it is predatory to put ads on the only place that I can go to in order to view cameras that I paid pull price for years ago with the idea that I wouldn't have to use cloud services. You're a fraud of a company.

1/5Will be switching
Used Zmodo cameras for nearly a decade with minimal complaints.. initially the app, cameras and cloud service themselves worked flawlessly. Over the course of the past few years they have done a 360 and went the opposite direction. The app crashes on start up nearly every time. Once you get the app to open you have to reset it again due to the cameras showing they are unavailable. The smart motion detection hardly picks up any activity. The quality over the camera themselves is outdated compared to other modern cameras. And now the app is LOADED with ads.. I should not have to watch a 30 second ad and be automatically forwards to the App Store every last time I click on the app of my security cameras that I pay monthly to use. The ad shown at the bottom blocks your ability to click on the bottom few cameras, and the app refuses to allow you to scroll. And on top of the ads, since this last update 4 out of 6 of my cameras now show unavailable on livestream while still recording on the cloud. Adding ads to a home security app is absolutely ridiculous and a sure way to go bankrupt. I will be switching to a different brand.

1/5Don’t download, major safety concern
I’ve used this security camera app for years and have been a loyal user, which makes the recent changes incredibly disappointing and frankly unacceptable. A security camera app should prioritize fast, reliable access to your cameras—not force users through multiple video ads before they can even view their feeds. The app now requires users to sit through several ads when opening it, and when attempting to close them, tapping the “X” often redirects to the App Store and pushes unrelated gaming apps or other solicitations. That alone is frustrating, but for a security camera app, it becomes a legitimate safety concern. People use these apps to quickly check on their homes, children, property, or respond to suspicious activity. Delaying access with forced ads and misleading redirects is irresponsible and could interfere with someone’s ability to immediately view an important live feed. Advertising is one thing. Turning a security app into an ad-delivery platform at the expense of usability and potentially safety is another. Long-time users supported this app because it served an important purpose. The current direction feels greedy, intrusive, and completely out of touch with what users actually need from a security application.

1/5Ridiculous ad implementations
I have to go buy all new cameras from a different company because their ads make the app unusable when you need it most. I get a motion alert from a place that shouldn’t have motion at that time, I panic to go look but oh wait I gotta watch an ad for 5 seconds, oh even better they put the “X” button on top of a take me to see more about this ad button and I have to wait for that to load to exit out of that then try to exit out of the previous ad video after 5 more seconds. Absolutely idiotic. You would think oh I pay ANOTHER monthly subscription and not deal with this, nope! You can tell none of the devs or people making decisions trust or use their own cameras because they would immediately realize how terrible and unusable looking at your cameras when there is an unexpected motion alert. I now get to spend a significant amount of time to evaluate other camera brands to make sure they’ve already made it past what is only the stupidest as decision and implementation I’ve ever seen. Congrats, this camera app has killed its self. Killed your own company. Any recommendations on another camera brand?? Response to devs Once I find a replacement company I’m out Zmodo for good. Any chance for this app/company to viable needs to happen quickly, all the reviews are I had only Zmodo cameras for a decade and then I can’t even use the app. Get rid of the ads then figure out a solution.
