   I’m opening my own salon suite rental and Vagaro is the booking app my studio rental company recommended. So far, I am enjoying the overall template and how easily customizable everything is. I also love that you can choose from multiple payment collection options. I especially love the “pay later” feature, as I *know* I’ll have clients who will love that option for investing in their more expensive hair services. One of the only real issues I’ve come across so far is that Vagaro works well from the app on my phone, but acts weird when I use it on my computer. I can customize my calendar from the mobile app, but when I try to adjust anything on the calendar from the computer, it says I am not authorized to make changes to the calendar and insists I have to adjust “Access Levels” in Settings. There is obviously nothing wrong with my “access level”, or my mobile app wouldn’t let me customize my calendar either! If the program worked more consistently across both the app and browser formats, I’d like it a lot more. I prefer working from my computer screen for certain things, so it drives me a little bonkers being forced to do everything from my mobile phone. Outside of a few minor inconveniences like this though, Vagaro overall has been really great & super straight forward to set up. I also love that I can upload photos right to my booking page to correlate with the services I offer! Clients love that. It’s also great that you can adjust your “Reviews” setting to only allow verified customers to leave reviews.

2. 4/52 day transformation

   Great program. Changing from Salon-biz to Vagaro n in only 2 days, we have set up our pricing. Connected buying to several social media accounts, set up a new payment system, added a superior website with all the pricing from the program showing up in details services on the site. Great organization and simple to use. Great marketing tools and very streamlined. Excellent! The online booking has made it so we can run the business without a receptionist for the most part. A few phone calls come in but those are easily answered and handled by other staff. This program has been influential on us making $$$. What we have asked for and hasn’t yet been added: client’s ability to us multiple credit cards for services in a single transaction. Hopefully this in the pipeline, because it is very common for customers to request using more than one source. There are work arounds, but for example if there is a transaction for $100 and client wants to split it between two cards plus tips, the work arounds are clumsy. Should be really straightforward and simple. Over all this is an excellent CRM and management program. Pros outweigh the cons by far. And at the top of this, is responsive customer service. They usually answer calls, and communication via email stays timely.

   I did a lot of research before deciding to go with Vagaro as my booking service. While I like the overall layout and most of the features that are included I do have some issues. Sometimes Vagaro goes down, this is usually temporary and resolved quickly but it happens often enough that it’s a concern. Sometimes there are glitches- haircuts for one client being scheduled twice (this has happened via online booking but also after I have booked a single haircut for a client, I have went back and checked and it has now booked them two haircuts). This takes double the time on my book and causes me to lose money. A lot of features are not included with the basic plan, they do cost extra. Sometimes I find the addition worth it, since the base price is so cheap, but once you factor in all of the additional features, the price becomes way more than it’s worth. I focus on the key additions that are worth it for my business and the price is still extremely reasonable for me. Running reports can be glitchy. I usually have to run a report a couple times before it will correctly populate for the date(s) I’ve selected. This is a minor inconvenience that doesn’t affect the overall functionality of the reports. Overall, the app is easy to use and easy for clients to book from. The price is extremely affordable (minus every additional fee for each add on service). The technical issues, while annoying, are still very minor when it comes to running my overall business. I think Vagaro is a solid, affordable option for small business owners.

4. 1/5Always problems with Vagaro!

   Use gloss genius instead! This booking system is nothing but problems and the other ladies in my salon who use this also have problems and the ones that use gloss genius don’t. The app is constantly glitching (making appointments and taking payments) and they blame it on my phone when I never have problems with any other app. They charge so much for what they offer. They allow clients to use Google Pay and Apple Pay to put a card on file when booking (a feature I pay extra for) but it doesn’t actually capture card info for these options. So today when I had a no show I couldn’t charge the client because there was no card on file and when I called Vagaro as to why there’s no card on file I was told that their “system doesn’t support those options” and that their “software developers are working on it.” Why would you offer that option if it doesn’t work? You should have that figured out BEFORE YOU OFFER IT. And you can’t opt out of offering those options for payment. So now I’m out money for a problem that is Vagaro’s fault! Are they going to reimburse me that money?? No why would they.. Just another company who has no problem taking your money with no accountability. Horrible! Not to mention for card purchases they charge a flat fee per transaction + a percentage on top of that. They take way too much money from business owners for as many problems as they have. I would not recommend this service and I would switch to gloss genius if I could.

   I have used Vagaro for a year now and have used it at another establishment prior to owning my own business. I find it to be user friendly, anticipates what needs I will have, and covers every need I could think of. It talks to so many other programs too and is easy to incorporate into a website, also they offer you a website!! The reports are easy to run, and customize and so are the client assessment forms and consent forms for customers. It is easy for online to book or from my computer or phone too. I have been able to truly make it my own it works with and for your business and helps ease your mind in so many ways! Also a lot of people have an account already and it will find the person or duplicates. There are so many other attributes on here I have yet to even explore and work with which I am adding as I need them in my business’s progression. The cc processing is also cheapest I think that o have done research wise on the front and back end as a merchant offer. Also the fact they work with AFFIRM is fantastic saving me from having to pay care credit or deal with patient Fi or cherry. It’s easy to be paid and add anything that I need or want. I’m super appreciative to this company and their customer service as well too notch, I am incredibly grateful. Thank you for helping me grow my business and being my right hand people in a business of just myself it’s like I have a team behind me! Thanks!
