1. 1/5Gloss genius will still your hard earn money

   Do not. I repeat do not download this app if you value your business and hard earned money. My daughters is a solo esthetician that’s been in business for about 2 years. They decided to shut down her account over paperwork that she submitted to them for weeks and since they never get back to anyone to resolved issues that they created then you are left with no options. 1. At first they started taking clients deposits about $500 2. They withdrew $300 from her bank account without authorization. 3. Shut down account with no explanation while they kept telling us that someone will get back to us. 4. You will lose all your clients database if you don’t have it back up somewhere else. 5. Big issue with them is that they sell them selfs as an all in one platform, calendar and process your transactions. This should be a no no for small business. Always have your credit card processing separately from your booking app so they don’t still your money. 6. They will never get back to you. Of course they will answer the phone if you are a new customer to them but when you have questions they will give you the runaround. You need to speak to this department and they transfer you and no one answer. You need to email that department. They will never email you back or call you back. This app should be removed from the App Store. I will be reporting them to the better business bureau to see if we can get our money back. I just wonder how many other small businesses are these crooks ripping off.

2. 3/5Great for solo estheticians but I have my doubts they can support you as you grow a

   Multiple technical issues recently in the last few months. Been using Gloss for a year and the issues have become more prevalent in recent months. Support is always responsive to me but the issues have not been addressed! These include: repeatedly calling me someone else’s name entirely (they have me stored in their system as someone else for reasons I never knew and they never corrected); the app asking for a drivers license of a client for a larger transaction (over $600) but no place to enter the drivers license image or info; the card reader never working despite multiple attempts at help from support; and most recently, it appears that a receipt for one client was sent to the client just prior (!), which is of course a huge privacy concern. There is no way for me to see what clients receive which emails, so I can’t verify it myself. Also, this is a platform that can only be updated from an app, not a desktop, so you have to do it all from a phone or tablet. I also don’t like that when someone books, they have to select a date, then move forward a screen to check times, then go back if you don’t like the times (bad UI). I would prefer it if you could select a date, see the times without having to click forward and back. It’s a great option for someone just starting out but I’m starting to look at other platforms as I grow because I am beginning to see that Gloss cannot grow with me. I am on the Gold plan for reference.

3. 3/5Beautiful but lacking some features.

   I was using Acuity for years, and made the switch to GlossGenius mostly for the built in marketing which is so nice! However it is missing some features especially for the steep almost $50/month price. The two key features I think would make this worth it would be having an option to “optimize schedule” or “minimize gaps” in the scheduling. Acuity had that and it was nice to not have clients booking at random times of the day and leaving me with gaps and losing income due to not being able to schedule another appt where I normally would be able to if the gaps weren’t there. Also I wish was a legitimate two way sync for the calendars. The “two way sync” that they claim is not 100% accurate. You still have to block off time separately in the GG app or change your existing calendar entry into a GG entry. It doesn’t sync in the way that you can block out a time on your phone/google calendar and have it block on your GG. It’s still extra steps that you have to take to block time out. And it doesn’t correctly sync to my google calendar at all. It takes over a whole day sometimes for the entries to update so I can’t even rely on it. Acuity had full and seemless two way sync for all calendars which was super convenient. Honestly if it weren’t for the marketing feature I would have stuck with Acuity as they have much better features for almost half the price.

   I am a Barber and I just recently switched to GlossGenius from TheCut. Reason I switched was because TheCut has a feature where you can send out blast messages to all your clients but for some reason, a lot of my clients weren’t getting those blast messages so I wanted to find a booking platform that sent out text message campaigns instead and GlossGenius kept coming up in my social media feeds so here I am. I have my books set up where it requires a deposit to book which makes people have to put a debit card in. My dilemma with Gloss right now is that a few of my clients are having a hard time booking because the site won’t accept their debit cards for whatever reason. So I end up having to book their appointments for them. Not sure what this bug is but it we’d to be fixed asap! Also, one of my clients who has 2 boys, made a complaint about not being able to book more than 1 appointment at a time. On TheCut, you can book multiple appointments in one sitting. On Gloss, if someone wants to book “a Kid Haircut” and a “adult haircut” they have to book them separately. Maybe you guys should make it to where people can book more than 1 service in the same booking Update* — a new issue I just received via text form a client this morning was my gloss booking site was twins them their phone # wasn’t a valid # smh. PLEASE FIX! I’d really hate to switch platforms again on all my clients but if need be I will. I’m getting way too many complaints for me to just switch over to gloss recently

5. 2/5Good for very small businesses

   If your just starting this may work for you. There’s a few twists and turns ,for instance you can’t cash out your money unless you have particular banks that work with Gloss Genius. They submit dispute documentation for you instead of you doing it yourself. I never lost a dispute in seven years until I joined this platform. They lose 99% of the disputes but have a gold tier package that if you pay more, it’ll protect you from losing disputes. If you don’t have that tier, good luck. The confirmation emails change often and clients can’t find important information for their appointments because of it. They have a house call feature, but you can’t see that the client selected this without digging through your emails or scrolling way to the bottom of the appointment. They have very short characters for describing services and this can’t be seen for the client to read without the client hovering over the service picture. Be ready for clients constantly texting and calling asking what you’ve already typed up on the site. They can’t see it. They don’t have certain features like if you have a Monday special, you can’t block off all other days so clients will book your special on random days instead of Mondays only. When issues arise, they just repeat what they’ve already said a million times they don’t care.

   I really do love Gloss Genius. Their AI integration has been very helpful. I can just ask it things like "How booked am I?, what's my projected revenue next week?" it gives me an answer instantly. It sends auto rebooking reminders. I can send mass texts/emails to my clients & use the integrated AI to help me come up with the verbiage which I love. Some things I wish I could improve: Add options to services with no addtl time. Want more options to change business hours without entering time block

   I use it for my personal business and it has everything I need in one app! And the fact that your clients can rate you is even better. I've been in business for a year and a half and my clients keep rating my business a five star. . not to mention how easy it is to keep track of the business aspect and set daily goals
