1. 4/5PAYING FOR TAXES WAS DIFFICULT

   When I was done with filing, paying for the service to use TAXAct was difficult. When I was trying to pay by credit card, it told me that I had to turn off the Recapcha? what the heck does that mean? So without any explaination, I had to pay for doing my taxes a more difficult way, which didn’t make the process as convenient and not finished. The process of entering the info was easy enough. will be trying a different service next year.

2. 1/5App is Buggy

   The fundamentals of this app are broken. There are AI systems that could fix these issues within a week. Sign-in requires entering your email multiple times. Doesn’t automatically allow saving your password via password manager. Doesn’t have Apple Face ID. Messaging center is not readable. Entirely useless. No way to schedule a call once you have been assigned an Xpert. Those are base fundamentals. Once those are fixed, there is an opportunity to build upon to make the app a statement versus their competition. Update based on developer response: sign-in asks for email input back to back. It’s a glitch. Chat is glitchy too. You can only see a sliver of a single row of text. It’s a glitch. You cannot setup a call or speak by phone once assigned a Xpert. On app or on desktop. Not in the way you could before being assigned one.

3. 5/5Easy to Use and Affordable Tax Filing Service

   I had a smooth experience using TaxAct for filing my taxes this year. The platform was easy to navigate, and the step-by-step guidance made the process simple even for someone without much tax knowledge. I also liked that it was more affordable compared to some other tax software options. The refund estimator and error checks were very helpful. Overall, a reliable and convenient service for tax filing.

4. 4/5Needs some work but good

   Not too bad of an app for filing taxes. There are still problems that need to be fixed. Such as being able to find your bank info for direct deposits a lot faster, being able to use a passkey as well as making it more usable for mobile. Definitely still a work in progress. But 4/5 stars

5. 5/5I won’t go anywhere else!!

   I’ve been doing my taxes with TaxAct for years, and I’m a truly loyal customer. My boyfriend once insisted I go to his accountant “just to make sure everything was accurate,” and guess what? The accountant got the exact same result I was already seeing on TaxAct. (Of course I ended up submitting my taxes through TaxAct) That was all the confirmation I needed. TaxAct makes the entire process incredibly simple: step-by-step, clear, and completely self-explanatory, almost like just filling in the blanks. It even pulls all my information from the previous year, which saves so much time. I love that! The experience is always smooth, fast, and stress-free. I trust it, I rely on it, and I’m not going anywhere else.
