1. 2/5Feedback on in-flight service experience

   I was introduced by a friend to fly with Starlux Airlines for the first time on a round trip to Taiwan. For both flights, I purchased seats with extra legroom, as I am tall and find it difficult to sit for long periods. On my return trip at the end of March, a flight attendant asked us to hand over our empty water containers for disposal. I took down my backpack from the overhead compartment and handed her one empty plastic bottle. She then asked me to take out another transparent water bottle, which was a Japanese product purchased in Taiwan. I explained that it was my personal item, and she then instructed me to put it into my backpack. During meal service, she served my meal first but did not provide any water or beverage. When she returned after serving the passengers in front and came back to my seat, I asked if I could have a drink. She responded with a stern expression and made a downward cutting gesture with her hand, without saying anything such as “please wait.” I have already sent an email to your company but have not received any response. I hope this feedback can be taken into consideration, as I believe there is room for improvement in service communication.

2. 2/5Needs a lot of work. Unreliable.

   The app works about 70% of the time. It is pretty finicky especially about signing in and often just fails. Several of the basic features of an airline app are missing such as the ability to check-in (takes you to a website that fails regularly). It also seems to struggle to associate your booking with your account. Other easy things like being able to see boarding times and departure gates are missing entirely. Also, many areas of the app require a long loading screen that seems unnecessary. Not sure why they didnt just copy any of the other highly functional apps out there. Fortunately, they made sure to get the ads working….

3. 2/5Cannot sync my miles or access my flight info

   The most important part of an app like this is to be able to access flight information for international travel. I repeatedly get an error that says my information doesn’t match or that I have no upcoming flights — but my info is correct and I do have an upcoming flight. I need to be able to access my miles with their partner airline (Alaska) — which was offered upon booking, but no luck there either. I have my flight confirmation number and no way to know if the flight is real, contact customer service, check-in, access updates, etc. via this app. The website worked smoothly, but the app needs major help before I book a STARLUX flight again 😕

   For the last week … this is the message that pops up on the app. “The system is currently busy. please try again later.” At the bottom of the message is a button that says . When you push it, the same message pops up. Thank goodness I have an email ticket from them but I prefer getting my boarding passes for my wallet instead of having to search emails. Anyhow - I hear the airlines is nice - the app just is not functional as of this review.

   This is the first I am reviewing apps. I know they are new and need a lot of fixes. The app does not respond by entering the booking. You have to press the button twice before taking it. I booked a ticket with Alaska Airlines and can not manage my booking. Keep saying I am entering the wrong or missing. I chatted with customer support and they said. They see my booking but I can not manage my booking. Because I do not book directly with Starlux. At any other airline, you can see the booking without where you are booking the ticket.
