1/5Great intention. Lacking implementation.
Really enjoyed the Facebook Group for SiP when I was lucky enough to find it. They’ve made it possible for me to get bottom surgery by connecting with folks who could care for me afterwards. I’m indebted to these folks. So I was very excited to see them get an app, because frankly I’d rather not keep giving Facebook more information about me. The app, sadly, is not really ready for production. 1. The full UTF-8 character set is not implemented. So if (like me) you have a letter in your name that isn’t A-Z or has an accent. 2. Connecting with people is very unintuitive. With the Facebook group each region has its own group. So it’s very easy to connect with people geographically close to you. The app, however, just filters the feed based on distance. So you have to fiddle with the the filter to figure out how to see posts from folks in your nearby area. 3. The identity servers do not seem able to handle the capacity. They’re trying to migrate all their users away from Facebook by the end of the year. So it could just be the crush of everyone signing up at once, but I’m rarely able to login. 4. Notifications are not helpful. When you do get logged in it’s just a stream of posts. People can react to them and you’ll see that someone has reacted, but that’s it. Facebook at least allows you to click through to get a list of folks so you can then connect with them directly. I certainly hope they find their footing. I am definitely pulling for them, especially considering that we desperately need community now. This version just is not it, and given the VERY toxic response I got when I offered this feedback in another forum, I’m not sure how things will be moving forward.

3/5It just needs some work
I have been a member of the facebook group for a year or two now and have met some of the most wonderful people in the world thanks to this community. I have high expectations and a lot of respect for Mr. Blevins. I was so excited to see that there’s an app! However like any new app it’s a little buggy... It needs some tweaking. Some of those things include: Notifications: It varies from having to hunt down where the notification came from to getting notified for every single comment even if it’s not directed at me all the way to not getting notified at all especially if it’s a message only to discover it hours later. Group approval: Waiting almost a week+ after making a new group and still haven’t heard anything on approval or denial. Unable to delete posts, comments, or messages that are no longer relevant. There’s more but this is off the top of my head. As I mentioned every new app is buggy so I’m more than happy to update my review once this is no longer an issue for the majority of users! This app has the potential to be phenomenal and help so many people! I can’t wait to see where it goes.

2/5Phishing/money request concerns
I REALLY want to support this app, but unfortunately my very first experience being reached "for support" was being asked for money. I think that if people want to be able to provide that for those in need that is so valid, but I dont have a lot of money and really dont want my only option to help people is providing them money. If we could make that an option to note for those seeking support that would make this experience way better. This recent interaction makes me very wary of this app's potential becoming a perfect site to phish and ask for money rather than it's original intent, which makes me less likely to use the app

1/5Keeps restarting and asking to finish creating profile
I really like the idea behind this app and downloaded it to offer support. I created a profile, clicked on the Discover tab and the app closed. When I reopened the app it asked me to create my login again. I went to the sign in section, using my saved login info, and my account wasn’t saved. I went through the account setup, only to have the exact same thing happen again. Just to be sure, I tried a third time and had the same things happen again. I want to use and love this app, but in its current state I have to give it a one star. Great concept, struggling app. If the bugs are fixed I’ll re-download the app and change the stars for my review, but for now it’s a 1-star app.

5/5Not what I expected.
I looked over the other reviews, and it seems like it’s getting a lot better. Though, the app is still slow. I’ll have to wait for it to finish loading so I can see my profile picture or close and reload several times. Often if I close the app, I will have to log back in, which makes sense, but then it won’t log in. Also, there are a lot of creepy men on the app. A little unnerving when it’s supposed to be for vulnerable people wanting a stand in parent.
