1. 5/5The Best App for Investing

   I’ve been using this app to keep me in the green and then some for the past 3 years. Not only can you look up a company and review it’s fundamentals and technicals, but the Quant system is very accurate in picking stocks that will perform well in the short and long-term. I’ve seen stocks rated a strong buy after thinking they were just going to be average and sure enough they went up above any expectations I had, but the quant system saw it and made the proper recommendation. There are several great things I like very much about the desktop and phone app for Seeking Alpha. There is a very knowledgeable and vibrant community of traders just like me. I pick up great ideas from the members and importantly there are a ton of authors writing about each of the stocks. The analysis is very good on almost all aspects. The system lets you breakdown every aspect of the quarterly earnings and gives a percent of growth in the short 3-4 month period and analysts predictions for longer term growth. I look for companies with consistently upward revisions as this is a prime mover for growth and increased returns. Seeking Alpha shows all the revisions quarterly and annual. There never seems to be a shortage of writers and commentators who are knowledgeable about a stock and who offer good advice. I highly recommend this service to anyone who trades, and if you are just an intermediate trader you will find tutorials on learning how to read technical and fundamental analysis as well as a host of other tutorials to make my tradings easier and more profitable.

2. 3/5Deleted another money greedy app

   Had to delete another money greedy app. I got tired of the flood of notifications and inability to read the volume of articles because of their high price. I get the same articles on the Apple News even though I don’t pay for either Apple News or Seeking Alpha. While I admit the article in Apple News is a limited snapshot, I feel it gives me the gist of the article, where as Seeking Alpha simply puts up a block from allowing me to see only their wonderful deal of paying a small one time monthly fee with a reoccurring fee for subsequent months being 6 times higher. Everyone says Seeking Alpha is a great source of information, but from what I can see is it is simply an opinion base. Why would I want to pay &30+ a month for an opinion? I see lots of people writing articles on something they profess they don’t even own. Some are cautionary tales, while others support buying a company, yet even when these people say a company is a strong buy rating, they always say I don’t own this company. Sounds kind of fishy when they promote a great deal and are lacking the confidence in buying the product themselves.

3. 1/5No longer functional due to continuous advertising

   This used to be an excellent app for tracking your portfolio and setting price alerts. Unfortunately, an update earlier this year changed their promotion settings so that a full screen popup advertising their premium services will take over your screen every two or three clicks. And instead of just caching their popup, it seems to require a fresh new download every time, making the app just plain unusable if your WiFi is slow. It also used to be possible to save a preferred default view for your portfolio. Now, it’s still possible to save that preferred setting, but it no longer displays that way by default. So, click once to try to see your portfolio, get lagged by their obnoxious popup, click again to change the view settings to what used to be your default, get lagged by their obnoxious popup again, start scrolling through your portfolio to see what’s up and down, get lagged by their obnoxious popup again, click on one of your holdings to see more info about the stock, get lagged by their obnoxious popup again . . . You get the idea. I actually *had* subscribed to some of the analysts on the app before, but now I’m just looking for alternatives to view my portfolio from now on. Maybe TipRanks?

4. 3/5Great tool with good content,but…..

   The product is great and I see it as invaluable, so nothing negative on that front. However, that’s not the purpose of this review. First off I absolutely hate the app update they did at the beginning of 2025. I almost cancelled my subscription just because of that but I realized I like the tools and content enough to deal with it. But most importantly is I noticed a couple weeks ago my app started getting glitchy and laggy. It was still functional and not too much of a hindrance, however starting yesterday it is now so bad that the app is unusable. Nothing loads while scrolling and then freezes for about 20 seconds to reload more items and so on. Clicking on articles and such take about 10 seconds to load and the scrolling issue persists while reading. In the analysis tab it won’t even allow to click on different sector categories to change the articles. And the contact us is basically worthless. Hence why I’m leaving this review. Leaving a review on the App Store is sadly the most direct way and hassle free for me to reach out about the gradual deteriorating performance of my app. And no it’s not my device. Every other app I have functions as it should.

   August 2018. Down to (*). In response to my critical feedback at SA, they have removed my ability to comment on postings. No great loss, but censorship as a response to critical feedback merely validates my comments. As of today, the app remains buggy and all three indices are listed in dollars!! Does anyone even audit this app before they publish updates? Disappointing. May 2018. Back to (**). Another upgrade and another example of inadequate testing and deployment. Required I login with upgrade and then required I add a portfolio as it assumed I was a new user. Once added, I could access my portfolios and delete the new one. I don’t care for this version interface. It could be more compact and deliver more detail. Check out the Stocks Live app for an example of excellent interface design, and boy do they test before deployment. Previous rating (***). Better than previous rating (**), but I hesitate to score higher until a few update cycles. Lost my portfolio during one of the recent app updates.
