The app itself is nice. However it’s data for Muni is not reliable. The data for predictive times may not be within the control of the app developer, but if you can find ways to get Muni to provide reliable data, then using the app would be excellent. Update: I received a reply from the developer who found my review to be negative and written out of frustration. And he thinks it hurts his app to have this kind of review. I think my review is fair to caution users about the data. The app description describes it will help users with real time predictions to get to places on time. If the data can be unreliable due to the source, do not overstate the capability of the app. 2nd Update. I upgraded my rating to respond that the app is very useful. It’s convenient to have it available. However, Muni and it’s data can be unreliable. For example, a few times I have seen a prediction of 5 minutes for one line, get updated 2 or 3 times, then completely not show up and it would then show 20 minutes for the next one. This is the fault of the Muni data so my point is to highlight that the data (and Muni) can be unpredictable some times. In these cases, I’d rather hop an Uber or Lyft instead of be delayed further. Overall the app is useful but the system itself is not predictable.

5/5Most Reliable App for all Bay Area Public Transpo
Hi Steven, I love this app like I love my mother. Can’t live without it. I especially like the feature that allows me to monitor my trip and real-time routes and stops. I installed the BART app two days ago and have been playing around with it and happened upon your last comment regarding the crappy data from BART. I’m planning on giving BART some feedback on their new App and will echo your sentiments to them. I ride all forms of public transportation to get around and rely on Routesy heavily. In fact I was on Muni the other day and someone asked me for stop info and I busted out my Routesy app. That guy now has it on his phone too :). Wishing you luck on resolving the data issues with BART and hope they will continue to cooperate and share good data and access. I can’t live without Routesy so I’m gonna throw in my two cents to BART for you :)

5/5Can't live without it!
I grew up in SF and I take the bus every single day, so to say I use the app frequently is an understatement! I've used Routesy for years (and this is after trying a bunch of other apps). I happily pay for Routesy Pro because after it's done so much for me for free, it's the least I can do for Routesy (plus the Night Mode is hella nice). When I had a problem (which was ONCE in 4 YEARS of use), Steven reached out to me personally and found a solution within the hour. I love this app and Steven more than I love myself!

5/5Bus stop order flipped
Have been using routsey for the past year and I found it very helpful in navigating my way all over the bay. I even recommended it to my friends and people who uses public transportation. But recently I found out that the bus stop orders for AC transit is flipped. I think it’s now sorted out in alphabetical order which is a bit inconvenient when going to new places that I have never been to. It used to tell you where the next stop is and you can easily see where to get off but not recently. I hope it gets fixed soon.

5/5Best app for heavy users of Bay Area public transit
Routesy Pro is my favorite by far of all the public transit apps available for the Bay Area. I like it because I can use the bookmark function to essentially mirror my regular routes, so when I am on the go I can just quickly look at the bookmark page to know when to make my next connection. And it uses the real time feeds provided by the various systems, so it’s about as precise as it gets. The only major downside is that when the systems change or renumber their routes, you have to rebuild your bookmarks from scratch. This latest version though has a recommendation feature that is useful in a variety of ways, but I’ve found it also makes rebuilding my bookmarks page a lot quicker, too. I still keep the official BART and Muni apps on my phone, but they are there only as reference for out-if-the-ordinary trip planning. For day-to-day usage, Routsey Pro is it.

This release works around another unexpected breaking data change introduced by BART on the morning of March 5, 2020. If you'd like to help prevent this from happening again, please keep reading below to find out how you can make your voice heard. As of this morning, BART has has again broken their data, rendering Routesy inoperable for BART without this emergency update. The data that Routesy uses to match predictions against routes has been unexpectedly changed with no warning. I’ve contacted BART but they haven’t been replying to my emails, so I’m not confident that I will hear back from them. The thing that would help the most is for users of Routesy to contact BART at (510) 464-6000 and ask them when they will correct the issue where the route colors no longer match the departures, and to ask them to communicate with developers when significant changes are coming, so that we can keep our apps up and running. It’s impossible to maintain a public transit app where the data is being changed in unexplained breaking ways every few weeks with no warning.

      "notes": "This release works around another unexpected breaking data change introduced by BART on the morning of March 5, 2020. If you'd like to help prevent this from happening again, please keep reading below to find out how you can make your voice heard. As of this morning, BART has has again broken their data, rendering Routesy inoperable for BART without this emergency update. The data that Routesy uses to match predictions against routes has been unexpectedly changed with no warning. I’ve contacted BART but they haven’t been replying to my emails, so I’m not confident that I will hear back from them. The thing that would help the most is for users of Routesy to contact BART at (510) 464-6000 and ask them when they will correct the issue where the route colors no longer match the departures, and to ask them to communicate with developers when significant changes are coming, so that we can keep our apps up and running. It’s impossible to maintain a public transit app where the data is being changed in unexplained breaking ways every few weeks with no warning."
