1. 1/5Don’t waste your time

   I created a RingCentral account to host meetings for various events and people and wanted to try out a different platform than zoom. So I came across RingCentral and on the surface it seemed to be a great alternative to Zoom, and I became even more interested upon finding out that it was like a brother zoom-having all the same features and being “powered by zoom.” So I made an account, tried to start a meeting but was prompted to download RingCentrals “Meetings App.” So I did. Tried to log in and kept getting error message saying my account doesn’t exist; so I go back to the RingCentral app get into my settings and turn on the option to host meetings from the RingCentral app itself ultimately bypassing the need for the meetings app. Cool! So I host a meeting and I find that neither I nor my participants can send messages to each other. 🤦🏾‍♂️ So I open the web browser and navigate to the website thinking It has to do with my account settings. I try to login and again I get hit with the “No such account exist” message. So I try to create a new one and now they’re trying to charge me for a monthly or yearly membership when the membership was previously free. I check my email for confirmation and come to find out my account is owned by some website called Glip, not RingCentral and for some reason they aren’t integrated with the RingCentral app. Long story short. Don’t waste your time. Download: Whereby. Jitsi meet. Zoom or any other platform. Just don’t download this sham of a App

2. 1/5New app = HORRIBLE! May cancel contract.

   RC is forcing us to migrate to the new app, yet it doesn't have all the same BASIC functionality as the previous Phone app!! They added new features that, to me, might benefit larger companies, but took away the very simple NECESSARY features that I, as a sole proprietor, need to work quickly during my day. IT'S INSANE! I not only have too many message conversations going on with clients-- NONE OF WHOM I KNOW WHO I'M TEXTING WITH IN THE NEW APP since I can only see phone numbers-- and I can't see the name of whom I'm receiving message from, I can't initiate a message without going to the old Phone app or my Apple contacts to copy and paste their number, and there are no dedicated buttons to click to initiate a text message!! WTH?!? Also, trying to send out a fax is not much better-- you have to click on the "call" button (looks like a phone handset), then click on fax, then click on the compose fax button. On the Phone app-- it's a single click on the fax button. VERY TEDIOUS and honestly is wasting the little time I have during my work day. What Einstein designed this?? I have been a loyal Ring Central user for 10 years now, but this is a deal breaker for me. Either they prioritize these simple changes, first and foremost to ADD CONTACT SYNC WITH MAC, or they postpone the date when the Phone app will be eliminated. My contract is coming up soon and I have no issues moving to another service that will actually simplify my job, not make it more difficult. SIMPLY TERRIBLE, RING CENTRAL!

3. 1/5Don’t give your payment information for a trial

   When deciding to give RingCentral a try I was assured that the payment information was just needed to get me onboarded and if I wanted to stop the trial it wouldn’t be any problem. Fast forward 3 weeks. I let my sales rep/onboarding manager know that I have made a decision to utilize another software and will need to cancel my trial before the 39 days are over….. Now the fun starts. Not hearing anything back, the week after I am sending a follow up making sure everything has been out in place and the cancellation was completed. They did charge me $260 and then told me it wasn’t their responsibility and I need to reach out to another department. They couldn’t verify I was the admin, because I didn’t have an extension for my phone number. I was never set up with one. I tried to explain that but it didn’t go anywhere. Now I’m playing phone tag with some customer service rep I have never talked to before. I’m glad the true face shows now and that we decided against using them. Another main reason for us to go with another provider was the switch from Diesel Laptops who were really dissatisfied with the customer support and service. I can just agree. If you are looking for quick responses and that somebody actually cares, don’t use RingCentral!

4. 1/5Allows Scammers On Their Platform

   I was invited to this app by a “company”, which turned out to be a scammer. I thought I was applying for a job at the company, but instead, the person tried to scam me. Now I just want to delete my account and move on with my life, but there is NOWHERE on the Ring Central app for me to delete or deactivate my account. It won’t even allow me to change the name of the company I’m associated with. So my name is forever associated with the scam fake company on the Ring Central app. I tried to use the “chat with support” option to see if I could speak with someone to see if maybe they could delete my account for me (since I’m apparently not allowed to do it myself), but all I was allowed to speak with was a chat bot. When I asked for a live agent, the bot told me that only company administrators are allowed to speak with live agents, and that I would have to speak to my “company administrator” for the issue. But the problem is that the “company administrator” is a SCAM ARTIST! I literally just want to delete my account. I don’t understand why this is so difficult. I don’t want to be associated with these scammers. I can’t believe they would make you jump through hoops to delete your account, yet when it came to creating my account, I was able to do so in seconds. DELETE MY ACCOUNT!!

   This app is unbelievably bad. Dismiss the call quality reminder forEVER! Not just for 24 hours. My god, I mean I love having to press extra buttons after every call. Like whenever I make a call with my regular phone, the thing I always look forward to is leaving a call quality rating! And my grandmas old rotary phone, after each call I used to love talking to the switch board operator to tell her the quality of the call, but then she’d politely ask if I’d like to dismiss the reminder and I’d say yes!! And she’d reply, great, I’ll remind you again tomorrow. Also, what fricking app am I supposed to be using? Same goes for my work computer. You know how many times I’ve missed calls because it was in “meetings” or vise versa? I love telling my new boss that I’m late because I can’t figure out how to use over bloated phone software. And if it’s not already open on the computer (consuming a quarter gig of ram and a handful of cpu just at idle), it takes at least 3 minutes to open and connect. Three minutes late to every meeting because I had to figure out first which app, then wait for it to open, because I need every resource my computer has for my regular job functions, not meetings. So I’ll just use my phone app(s), oh wait, which one again?
