   I'm a new plant mom and this app has been great so far. It’s really easy to use, which is perfect if you are just starting out with plant care. The information has been pretty accurate for the most part. The features provide many useful things like their specific care routine and harvest time. However, these features are available only during the trial period. I wish they offered more access to these tools beyond trial so more people continue to benefit from them.

2. 1/5Charges WEEKLY even after canceled

   I continue to get charged $10 per WEEK even after canceling this subscription multiple times. Yes, I actually cancelled this subscription by going through subscriptions on my iPhone. It would then magically reappear. I cancelled it AGAIN recently only to be charged for it 4 days later. I have screenshots that it’s actually cancelled and that I didn’t just delete the app. I also followed all the policies about cancelling before 48 hours, etc… I finally talked to someone at Apple 2 days ago who confirmed that I canceled the app properly. She then said she manually went in and turned off the payments and that I “shouldn’t” have this problem again. We’ll see. There is no way that this app is EVER worth $520 a year. I’ve complained to the App Store multiple times, and I’ve canceled it multiple times but still continue to be charged. Updated to reflect I cancelled the app properly since the developer is questioning if I knew how to cancel a subscription.

3. 1/5Feels like a scam

   I downloaded this to try and identify a plant. I used a couple of really good photos but it couldn’t identify it. It’s not an uncommon plant. Plus the internet search identified this as a free app but I had to sign up for a subscription. I chose the free subscription and now am trying to cancel but in the settings it won’t let me click on the subscription button. Seems like a scam if I cannot cancel my free trial. Edit: I figured out how to unsubscribe through my phone, however today is the 26th and my trial period was supposed to be a week but it shows it would end on the 29th. 3 days isn’t a week. What a scam. The app doesn’t even work. The other reviews have to be fake! Edit 2: RE response. I did take multiple photos, close up, not close up, leaf detail, flower detail, etc. I easily found the plant name elsewhere with the same photos. Also your app says it’s a 7 day trial when it’s actually 3. Way to scam people!

   I recently started using Botan. I am thoroughly impressed! The app took a stunning photo of my olive tree that just started fruiting this year. The app gave me detailed information about when the olives will mature and how to harvest them. It also, identified why my quince bush was not fruiting with it’s health check feature. It provided me with different care instructions. The insights were both comprehensive and easy to understand. I am very pleased with this purchase as I am looking forward to improving my garden. This app has truly exceeded my expectations and has become an invaluable tool for my plant care. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to enhance their plant care routine!

5. 3/5Useful but could be better

   I love the concept! You take a photo of a plant and get information about it. It also has a handy chat feature with what I’m assuming is an AI that gives you personal tips and answers questions. However, all the information you get when you scan a plant has to do with the plant’s history and more scientific data, not how to care for it in your garden or home. The format of the text is also kind of hard to read. It’s spaced weirdly and sentences kinda run together. The pictures in the gallery for each plant don’t load either. All in all, with some formatting improvement and bug fixes, this is definitely a really useful app!
