3/5Not sure what’s up with the new login process
I’ve been a PayPal customer for years and have an outstanding seller rating, then I made a sale last week (early June 2023), and I had to essentially start from scratch. I used to get my payments released when I would ship an item (I collect/buy/sell drums and drum gear), now it’s back to getting my payment released within a week of delivery. I’ve sold hundreds of products through eBay, Reverb, and Facebook marketplace and I get paid upon shipment, just like goods and services used to do. Then one day last week I suddenly had to provide my drivers license along with a picture of myself and wait for them to process and approve it. Not only that, my bank account was somehow unlinked from my PayPal and now I can’t re-link it. My bank comes up in the search, I log in, and it continues to tell me that I need more assistance linking my bank account..?? Then I tried transferring a lousy $12 to my debit card and that was lending for 2 days 🤦‍♂️ Of course you can’t speak to a human, you have to talk to a robot and they’re absolutely useless. I’m just gonna stop doing person-to-person transactions through goods and services. If someone wants to buy my products they can order it from eBay, Reverb, Facebook or issue a direct pay through PayPal. Absolutely no reason to basically have to start from square one as if I’m a new user or something. I’m all for security but this is ridiculous.

1/5Absolutely not recommending for small business
PayPal fell in favor for a customer who stiffed us for a job and then took $3k from our account and sent it to ACI after we contacted a support specialist and it even said in the originally in our invoice that payment was done on there no refunds. Seriously disappointed in PayPal. Switch all revenue over to get their capital loan at the beginning of the year as well. On top of that they acknowledge that we have unpaid invoices from said customer and they can take from my account. Yet can’t charge their card on file even after they said they would just had to send reminders. Well that was back in July. Still nothing from PayPal. They charged us hundreds in fees if not thousands and for what? Zero support and for them to forward us to collections? The customer had to submit no proof either and we couldn’t get the app to work in their timeframe. Contacted them by phone and they said to do this and that and call them back. Well we did and it didn’t work and then took our money without letting us submit our proof. I need to have someone from PayPal to contact me immediately. Someone who can provide us with a real solution and this so far isn’t fair at all. Right now. I don’t suggest that you should do business with PayPal and can’t trust them. I’m worst off than I ever would’ve been if I had never even bothered going with them.

5/5A Positive Experience
I have been using PayPal since 2010. With the exception of the discount feature I have never had an issue. When I draft an invoice for a repeat customer it is easiest to just copy he previous one issued and make changes if necessary. Often times I may need to change or eliminate the discount feature. When doing that, there have been instances where it shows on the page I’ve eliminated the discount, but when it sent out the discount still applies. This causes me to take a little extra time and troubleshoot before I issue the invoice. this may be user error, because I may be doing something wrong, and I just don’t have the patience to figure it out. So apart from that, I have been a loyal subscriber to PayPal for 14 years. I feel it is extremely user-friendly, and the upgrades they make are certainly positive. I love it’s efficiency. The invoicing is easy to follow and understand. The transferring of funds always go off without a hitch, and cancellations and refunds are easily done. I greatly appreciate the sales reports. I truly have no reason to give it less than five stars.

1/5It Was All Good Until My Business Grew
I’ve been using PayPal as an option for a few years but recently decided to make it my main source for payments as I have been working to grow my business. I liked the fact that I could see my year over year growth and easily create invoices with reminders for my clients. First problem I ran into when business started to grow in 2023 was a hold on my account because I reached my limit of growth. They wouldn’t let me get “MY” money because they thought it was suspicious that I was receiving more money. “I thought the purpose of having a business was to grow it” I mean it’s not like PayPal doesn’t get a cut of my money earned since I used their platform. I got over this and things were good until here we grow again. Business started picking up and now my account is deactivated for feature use like receiving payments, sending invoices and communicating with my clients through PayPal. I had to speak to someone who said that I was tagged for fraud because of the increase in general invoices. The invoices weren’t general, I used the templates that they provided with detailed notes to explain to each customer terms/conditions and recaps of service information. This was confirmed with a PayPal representative that everything looked legit but they still have my account deactivated pretty much stalling my business from being able to send invoices or cancel invoices sent out to keep my money from being held by them. So frustrating and because of this I have to move my business elsewhere. Can't wait for them to figure out their mistakes. Especially when they couldn't confirm it would not happen again.

1/5Unethical Business Practices
Beware Beware Beware!!!!! My account was “limited”/terminated with no policy infractions, no broken rules, zero notification, zero explanation, zero communication on any level, just terminated with my money frozen! I feel violated beyond the words to articulate it! This was the second time it happened with them! After resolving it as part of a problem ON THEIR END the first time, they did it again only this time having frozen all the money my business has in the app TILL FEBRUARY 2025 in the event of charge backs. We’ve never had one, have a stellar reputation in our community, and sell services not merchandise anyway. The biggest problem though is not being able to speak with anyone on the phone about it. U can call sure, speak with someone who tells you they can’t do anything about it and you’ll here from the people who can in 4-5 business days. We’re in the middle of our largest fundraiser of the year which my business depends on to survive and PayPal has literally sunk my business and taken food off our table. The conduct on the account hasn’t had a questionable or unethical actions since its beginning with them. Even if they were to make this right, now experiencing and learning of their business practices and non existent customer service, it’s hard to ever think of conducting business with them in a trustworthy manner again. It’s INFURIATING and they haven’t heard the last of this….that much I promise!

PayPal business held my funds and restricted from using the app. I find the app hard to understand,contact details for PayPal take long to respond. I verified my bank but can't transfer my funds toy bank cos they permanently restricted me out of my account. I can't add FNB eWallet eighter,like I said it's a complex app. Not everyone is informed.

this app is a scammer app filled with scammers and when you try to close your account they make it extensive hard and the app WILL NOT LET YOU UPLOAD YOUR ID OR PIC TO VERIFY YOUR IDENTITY so PayPal can use your account to scam people or if money using you're name and you're account. SO NOT CREATE A PAYPAL ACCOUNT OR YOU WILL BE SCAMMED BY PAYPAL AND THE SCAMMERS THEY EMPLOY

          "body": "I’ve been a PayPal customer for years and have an outstanding seller rating, then I made a sale last week (early June 2023), and I had to essentially start from scratch. I used to get my payments released when I would ship an item (I collect/buy/sell drums and drum gear), now it’s back to getting my payment released within a week of delivery. I’ve sold hundreds of products through eBay, Reverb, and Facebook marketplace and I get paid upon shipment, just like goods and services used to do. Then one day last week I suddenly had to provide my drivers license along with a picture of myself and wait for them to process and approve it. Not only that, my bank account was somehow unlinked from my PayPal and now I can’t re-link it. My bank comes up in the search, I log in, and it continues to tell me that I need more assistance linking my bank account..?? Then I tried transferring a lousy $12 to my debit card and that was lending for 2 days 🤦‍♂️ Of course you can’t speak to a human, you have to talk to a robot and they’re absolutely useless. I’m just gonna stop doing person-to-person transactions through goods and services. If someone wants to buy my products they can order it from eBay, Reverb, Facebook or issue a direct pay through PayPal. Absolutely no reason to basically have to start from square one as if I’m a new user or something. I’m all for security but this is ridiculous.",

          "body": "PayPal fell in favor for a customer who stiffed us for a job and then took $3k from our account and sent it to ACI after we contacted a support specialist and it even said in the originally in our invoice that payment was done on there no refunds. Seriously disappointed in PayPal. Switch all revenue over to get their capital loan at the beginning of the year as well. On top of that they acknowledge that we have unpaid invoices from said customer and they can take from my account. Yet can’t charge their card on file even after they said they would just had to send reminders. Well that was back in July. Still nothing from PayPal. They charged us hundreds in fees if not thousands and for what? Zero support and for them to forward us to collections? The customer had to submit no proof either and we couldn’t get the app to work in their timeframe. Contacted them by phone and they said to do this and that and call them back. Well we did and it didn’t work and then took our money without letting us submit our proof. I need to have someone from PayPal to contact me immediately. Someone who can provide us with a real solution and this so far isn’t fair at all. Right now. I don’t suggest that you should do business with PayPal and can’t trust them. I’m worst off than I ever would’ve been if I had never even bothered going with them.",

          "body": "I have been using PayPal since 2010. With the exception of the discount feature I have never had an issue. When I draft an invoice for a repeat customer it is easiest to just copy he previous one issued and make changes if necessary. Often times I may need to change or eliminate the discount feature. When doing that, there have been instances where it shows on the page I’ve eliminated the discount, but when it sent out the discount still applies. This causes me to take a little extra time and troubleshoot before I issue the invoice. this may be user error, because I may be doing something wrong, and I just don’t have the patience to figure it out. So apart from that, I have been a loyal subscriber to PayPal for 14 years. I feel it is extremely user-friendly, and the upgrades they make are certainly positive. I love it’s efficiency. The invoicing is easy to follow and understand. The transferring of funds always go off without a hitch, and cancellations and refunds are easily done. I greatly appreciate the sales reports. I truly have no reason to give it less than five stars.",

          "body": "I’ve been using PayPal as an option for a few years but recently decided to make it my main source for payments as I have been working to grow my business. I liked the fact that I could see my year over year growth and easily create invoices with reminders for my clients. First problem I ran into when business started to grow in 2023 was a hold on my account because I reached my limit of growth. They wouldn’t let me get “MY” money because they thought it was suspicious that I was receiving more money. “I thought the purpose of having a business was to grow it” I mean it’s not like PayPal doesn’t get a cut of my money earned since I used their platform. I got over this and things were good until here we grow again. Business started picking up and now my account is deactivated for feature use like receiving payments, sending invoices and communicating with my clients through PayPal. I had to speak to someone who said that I was tagged for fraud because of the increase in general invoices. The invoices weren’t general, I used the templates that they provided with detailed notes to explain to each customer terms/conditions and recaps of service information. This was confirmed with a PayPal representative that everything looked legit but they still have my account deactivated pretty much stalling my business from being able to send invoices or cancel invoices sent out to keep my money from being held by them. So frustrating and because of this I have to move my business elsewhere. Can't wait for them to figure out their mistakes. Especially when they couldn't confirm it would not happen again.",

          "body": "Beware Beware Beware!!!!! My account was “limited”/terminated with no policy infractions, no broken rules, zero notification, zero explanation, zero communication on any level, just terminated with my money frozen! I feel violated beyond the words to articulate it! This was the second time it happened with them! After resolving it as part of a problem ON THEIR END the first time, they did it again only this time having frozen all the money my business has in the app TILL FEBRUARY 2025 in the event of charge backs. We’ve never had one, have a stellar reputation in our community, and sell services not merchandise anyway. The biggest problem though is not being able to speak with anyone on the phone about it. U can call sure, speak with someone who tells you they can’t do anything about it and you’ll here from the people who can in 4-5 business days. We’re in the middle of our largest fundraiser of the year which my business depends on to survive and PayPal has literally sunk my business and taken food off our table. The conduct on the account hasn’t had a questionable or unethical actions since its beginning with them. Even if they were to make this right, now experiencing and learning of their business practices and non existent customer service, it’s hard to ever think of conducting business with them in a trustworthy manner again. It’s INFURIATING and they haven’t heard the last of this….that much I promise!",
