1. 1/5Very dangerous! Beware users

   I have the Curts override button for 2 years and I was happy with it until it forced us to change this new app. The purpose of the override button is you can control the brake of trailer with out the app. But this app disabled my button. As soon as this app is closed( working in the background, not turn off) the button stop working! I was glad that I found out earlier. Imagine that people didn’t know that and had fishtail need to control the trailer. End up the button is not working! It gonna lead to injury/ law suit for this company, even worse that someone lost their life! The company suppose test it and make sure it working well before you publish this new app and “force” close the old app. I did call the company and tell them the problem and they said they were aware this issue and it is a “glitch” of the app. AND DON’T KNOW WHEN CAN THEY FIX IT! That pricy button now is a decoration in my car…. Apple should force them to remove this app. Dangerous

2. 1/5App Update is DANGEROUS.

   UPDATE: The newest app version needs to be tweaked. To make it work properly you need to completely forget the echo device then re-pair it. In order to change setting like sensitivity nd Max Output you need to make sure your font size settings in the IPhone settings is set to default and not larger font. larger did not allow the brake controller changes to be made. Seems odd but it is the way it is. After these things were done the app began working properly. THESE WERE THE ISSUES WE WERE FACING. App worked fine before. Now with version 2.0.0 we can’t change sensitivity or maximum output settings with our Curt brake controller. So we’re forced to drive with settings not optimal for our rig. With this flaw we will be looking to change brake controllers. This is unsafe and horribly irresponsible for Lippert AND Curt. Can’t recommend this to anyone until the problem is fixed. When safety is involved this is a massive flaw and needs attention ASAP.

3. 1/5The update makes the break controller unusable

   In our first camping trip for this year after the winter season, I was asked to upgrade to a new app and everything started not working after registration and set it up at the beginning of the trip. For some reason, it does not recognize the trailer anymore even when the 7 pin cable is connected and the LED stays solid blue all the time not turning into green at all. It was very strange and after hours of troubleshooting (deleting the profile and app, redownloading and setting it up on other phones), we had to gave up on using our trailer brake and decide to finish our trip without it. How come the company fails to test the app if they force the user to switch to the new app? Why we can’t use the old app even if we wanted to? Don’t understand what you guys are thinking and why you risk customers’ lives with such a hasty decision? We now have to look for a new trailer brake controller!!!! 😡😡😡😡😡

   Like so many other companies, they want your personal information first before you are able to use a product you just purchased. However, they are especially greedy because in addition to your full name address and phone number that they are demanding, for a controller that you are going to plug into the back of your car, they want access to your location. PERMANENTLY. Always. The application then lies to you and states that without granting location data it will be unable to "search for Bluetooth devices" which is EASILY proven as a lie: Bluetooth device devices work within a 30 foot range of wherever you are standing. You don't need location data to make that work. You just want it because you can then sell it. No. I WILL NOT ACCEPT YOUR TRACKING ME. Do not lie to the customer and tell them that you are "required" to get the location data because of trying to blame Apple software requirements. I have plenty of Bluetooth devices that don't care about location data and don't ask for it in the slightest. Headphones, dongle, adapters to plug into cars to read diagnostic data… None of them require location data DO NOT LIE IN YOUR REPLY TO THE CUSTOMER. You are doing this for marketing data and it is patently obvious. You could disable this feature at any time but you do not want to. The company has also disabled the previous application that worked with these brake controllers, manufactured by the Curt corporation which apparently they now own. I have paid a significant amount of money for this product and it is crippled because I refuse to be turned into a product for you to then sell to someone else.

5. 1/5They refused to publish my last critical review

   Suffice to say, garbage product, because of the app. Curt/lippert have ZERO control over the app, and will lie thru their teeth when they tell you their app team has reproduced the issue and is working on a fix. This app deserves ZERO stars. I’ve been trying to get this shoddy thing to work properly, but haven’t found an iPhone or *other* phone that the app works properly with. 4 months of support calls and I got Nowhere. I’m sure they will respond to This review with a message to please call them M-F for support, but those canned responses are as worthless as their support teams. Crazy, when you call support they don’t even know how their hardware works, they don’t know how to use, pair, or replace the battery on the external button. Also, I hit a deer last month towing my trailer because this app did not work properly. Very dangerous!
