5/5Fantastic App
if you’re a drone pilot looking for some piece of mind this is a one stop shop. I’ve been using this app since April 2025 and I can only report good things about it. it runs flawlessly on the iPhone 17 Pro Max. This app is underrated and should get more exposure. people that say that this app is flawed need to stop thinking it’s the app because it’s not it’s your trash device !! I’ve been using this app since April 2025 and I’ve never had a problem with it. I have flown in various locations with the presence of law enforcement and without as long as you are following FAA. Rules and regulations and you have this app that certifies that you have permission to fly you are golden. I love how the monthly fee is being used to improve the app with the ongoing improvement such as latitude and longitude and active weather just the name of a few if you’re a serious pilot, then you need to consider using this app and getting the permission required before you fly it’s not worth taking chances and with the government constantly changing their mind on drones this is $$$ in the bank !! Keep up the great work !!

5/5Very user friendly AND necessary depending where you fly
I live near an airport and therefore am within a controlled area. It is not just any airport but one where the state Police helicopters and the Air National Guard fly out of - and they fly low. Applying for and receiving FAA authorization is required for legal drone flight otherwise the consequences can be very severe. This app made the LAANC process very smooth. I did not think it would be so quick and easy - especially reading the reviews about other apps. Besides the LAANC I could check for other temporary flight restrictions. This app is a necessity in my opinion for legal and responsible drone flying. Even if one does not lived in an area with controlled airspace it is still good to check for FAA TFRs. For better or worse there is going to be more scrutiny of drone flying. Apps like this take a lot of stress away from the wondering “Am I legal or not?” Keep that in mind because later this year the FAA will require drones to broadcast their ID’s. Assume you are going to be “on their radar” so stay legal, stay safe, and stay responsible.

4/5Very user friendly but I would like to see more.
I have to start this review by saying this app is great. It works well and does everything you need to register to fly in controlled air space. I would like to see more features that would be useful for my work. Now that checklists are included I would love to see a button on the mission side that lets you manually mark the mission as flown with the option to add any post flight notes needed after the mission. I would also love to see a place to list all drones and batteries owned with a spot in the missions where you can note which drone and batteries you are flying with. I have just been adding that information in the notes tab and it can be tedious. Regardless of those wishes I will be continuing to use this app as it is one of the friendliest to use out their.

4/5Mostly Great
I’ve been using AutoPylot for about a week or so across 6 flights. I’m a newly certified Part 107 pilot but my flight plans and logging have been for recreational purposes. I love the mission planning, mapping and checklist features. The near real time data for weather, NOTAMS, TFR’s and airspace is invaluable, not to mention staying on top of procedures with the checklists and tracking flight time. Checklist templates are great. But a few key things can be improved. 1.) Let me set a default checklist template or let me select on mission creation. One less step than importing it manually. 2.) Let me input my own drone insurance or disable the uninsured/sales ads. I already have business insurance that covers drones. My flights are insured. I pay for AutoPylot+. I should not be seeing these ads and my flight logs should not be reporting I’m uninsured. 3.) Let me manually input my flight time. My mission may have run for an hour, but in that hour with 4 battery packs will only result in roughly 30 minutes of flight time since each battery on my custom drone allows approximately 7 minutes of flying. The estimate flight time now reading 6 or 7 hours in my logs is more like 2-3. 4.) There is some kind of glitch where after finishing my flight, when entering “Notes” as I do for my after-action report, I am unable to safe because of an error that the system is already trying to save. I am forced to copy my text, restart the app then paste back into notes to save it. Improving those 4 areas would make this app a near 10/10 for me. So far the experience has been good, but for the sake of the quickly growing hobby and commercial use, get ahead of the competition and really make this app stand out as a rock solid choice for all drone operators to use.

5/5Easy to use. Free Flight Planning
Easy to use, one stop, intuitive app that provides awesome preflight info and easy flight approval tools. FAA approved. The preflight check list function is also super handy for new pilots like me. I was recently on vacation at the beach and wanted to grab drone footage of Sunrises and Sunsets. I fired up the app only to discover I was in a HARD NO FLY zone. I was bummed I couldn’t get the footage I wanted, but glad to leave the drone in the closet for a week to avoid potential FAA fines. Always, always, always reserve airspace approval prior to flying. If you don’t it’s on you. My understanding is that there are no acceptable excuses. How do you know your in a G zone unless you check? Even then are there temporary restrictions? While your there you might as well reserve airspace approval and confirm height restrictions. This app does the leg work for you making it easy and enjoyable. Thank You for this App.
