   MyTuner works fine when it’s working, but the ads come ad nauseam! Also, ads will occur anytime there is any interruption on my smart phone: Have an alarm go off? Get an add. Have a wrong number or telemarketer call and go to voicemail? Get an ad. Switch between phone and ear pods or bluetooth speaker? Get an an ad. This is especially frustrating when listening to stations that have news at the top of the hour because often times by the time the in-app ad is done, so is the news. Also, it will sometimes play the same add up to three times in a row, which is just insulting. I was ready to buy a lifetime membership to turn off the ads, when I discovered it would only turn off a VISUAL ads. There are enough ads on the radio station itself that I listen to that I do not need more audio ads. Give me an option to pay to turn off in-app ads for a fair price, and I would give you five stars.

2. 4/5Replaced obsolete TuneIn

   Update July 2024... Been using for several years now. Still Has a lot of the stations that were removed from the more commercialized platforms. Unfortunately the audio quality is not as good on comparable streams. The buffers are not large enough and doesn't appear to be a way to adjust to make them larger. What this means is connectivity is pretty horrendous and when there's a handoff from WiFi to cellular the stream will stop and not reconnect until i close the app and reopen and establish a new connection. Not even a premium version to be able to fix these two items. Others than that it's still the best streaming audio app for commercial free independent radio stations. Original review... When most of the stations I liked on Tune In were georestricted or just didn't work anymore I thought they were gone. But they're all available on myTuner. Plus many more. I wish it would sync up better with the other devices but I'm sure they'll get there.

   Well congratulations BOYS! You took a great little app that was very useable and accessible to your voice over users and turned it into ABSOLUTE JUNK! Now, with this latest update you went and BROKE the search feature! I CANNOT type in the search field I cannot inter ANYTHING to look for. This is just Stupid thoughtless inconsideration from you people!! I am honestlz done with you morons. if this is the consideration you show your voice over users then the word for you for today. IS BYEBYE! No more subscription no more app! I'm deleting this junk and NEVER coming back! I can no longer even access my favorites many of the buttons are images and thus DO NOT work! as a blind man I really resent this arrogant lack of consideration to the needs of others! This is the second time I have tried using this app, I deleted it before because it became so buggy and inaccessible it was not useable! So once again I must congratulate you. You slagged at thing good!!!

4. 5/5The World at Your Fingertips

   I have been searching for a radio app that would tune in stations from all over the world. And not just music stations, but also news and talk radio. After much frustration, having downloaded and tested several apps, I finally discovered My Tuner. This is just like having a short-wave radio, but better! The reception is crystal clear, unlike the days when you had to search the bandwidth in hopes of getting a strong signal, or having to listen at certain times of the day or night to get reception. The app is organized to allow you to select by genre, city or country, or genre within country. And best of all, it’s free! Looking forward to hours and hours discovering new stations. It truly is a small world after all.

   Second updated review: Okay, it’s happened again, minutes after my last review (below). At least part of the problem seems to be that the radio player stays on my lock screen even after I’ve closed the app! Is there a way to keep it off the lock screen? Updates review: I changed my rating from one star to three—mainly because I heard back from the developer; also, though the problem has happened more than once, I used the app for a while before it happened, so it may be a couple flukes. I considered that the radio may have come back on because I might have hit the play button on the lock screen or as I was locking the screen (and perhaps I hadn’t completely closed the app first)—but at least once the radio came on a minute or two after I had last touched my phone. (Maybe there’s a slight chance that it had had a bad connection and then finally got a good one again.) I don’t know what other details to give. In each case, it’s happened after I was recently using the app, so there’s likely some correlation. I’ve re-downloaded the app and will try it again for a while and raise my rating if it doesn’t happen again (or if it does, but I/we can figure out why). I’m trying to stick with it because (a) I don’t want to be unreasonable, (b) I’ve paid for no ads and the equalizer, and (c) it’s the only app I’ve found that has my favorite talk station (other than directly on the station’s web page, but it stops working every so often). Thanks. Original review: Sorry, had to delete. This has come on by itself several times. This last time it stopped a video I was recording and I lost the opportunity!

   ads more ads and more adds. very invasive and annoying when listening to a cranked tune, only to have an add interrupt the song at twice the volume. unfortunate as app seems to have allot of content just invasive. turn on. add, switch station. add. listen to a radio station with adds only to get more adds. no thank you. deleted.
