4/5The Mesh is wonderful. Some constructive feedback though
1. The new update as of April 2026 (the CarPlay addition) is incredibly slow. Not sure why, but there is quite a bit of lag when switching between Channels, Nodes, Settings, etc on the bottom menu. Also when opening a channel, the view is often blank and will remain so until I try to scroll. At that point it will either start to show the most recent message (expected behavior) or will scroll back to older messages. This has taken me close to 100 messages in the past a couple times, and in both instances those were all messages I had previously read 2. CarPlay has only allowed me to send a message. I an unable to have Siri read received messages. When a new message comes in to my node, there is no notification on the screen to tap on. Also when tapping on a channel which has unread messages, I get “What would you like to say to Meshtastic?” Interestingly enough, the Channel view on my car screen showed I had dozens of unread messages in Channel 0 when, in fact, I had read all the messages. Seems CarPlay is a little buggy right now Despite these items this app rocks. No doubt it will continue to improve. I only share these things so the devs know what’s outstanding

4/5A great start - until recently
UPDATE: The Bluetooth crash has recently been fixed and the app is working again so I upgraded my review to 4 stars. I would give it 5 if not for the fact that it does still sometimes crash and it gets very unstable and laggy with more than 320 or so nodes in the database. In all, still a very cool project with some great potential. I liked this app, in spite of some annoying bugs, until I updated it a few weeks ago. It is now completely unusable on my iPhone 13 as it crashes immediately if Bluetooth is enabled on my phone . I’ve uninstalled it several times and applied all the latest updates (one of which was supposed to fix a Bluetooth crash issue) but no luck. I hope this gets fixed. If so, I will update this review. In any case, be wary of “upgrades” if you rely on this app as it is now completely broken, in my experience. I really do appreciate all the work the developers have put into this - I just wish they would test the updates better before pushing them to the App Store.

4/5Very OK for something that is just getting started.
I see so much potential. I think this is a great app. As sensors develop and move forward, I would expect to see more integration with other systems. In the meantime, to get a five star review for me, you need to start thinking about some user-friendly functions inside the app. For example, I should be able to sort my nodes either by distance, by name, by signal strength, by time of last connect, by anything that is a data field displayed in the node displayed. Given time, I can also think of other user-friendly things. Maybe some functions in the app to fill in the gaps created by the sensors not always picking everything up.

5/5Awesome Off-grid Mesh App
This app is extremely easy to use. Setup your device, connect via Bluetooth and you’re ready to go. Excellent features including node position logs, environmental logs (if setup), node control (when connected), live location view on an integrated map, ability to request a node’s location, multiple communication channels depending on configuration and direct messaging capabilities with nodes on your mesh network. Additionally, it includes numerous device configuration settings making it even easier to maintain and configure the nodes on your network. The development team is top notch! Very quick to address issues and constantly working to add additional features and capabilities and maintain overall stability. Being able to use my Meshtastic nodes within the Apple ecosystem makes it incredibly convenient. Can’t recommend this app enough!

5/5Needs simple mode
Love the app and the technology. But if you want wider and faster adoption of Meshtastic you need to have a “easy/simple” mode switch in the settings menu for beginner/non techie users. This switch would eliminate the majority of the complex settings and configure everything for the common/standard settings. The entry level users would only choose their user name and what country they are in. That’s it. Only then will Meshtastic ever have a chance at truly competing with FRS/GMRS for every day joe users.
