4/5Great app needs au3 support
So I’m very glad that Korg has kept up so many apps for so long, but I feel they are kind of behind with the importatnt stuff. By that I am am mainly talking about au3 support. Inter app audio is just not good enough, it crashes, states do not save, poor cpu handling…. Really at this point inter app audio is an afterthought, I never use inter app audio at this point. I bought this app in 2024 even though I know there is no au3 support, but I’m hoping that korg sees that there are users that are willing to buy more with au3 in mind. I have most of the korg apps but there are 2 more I have not purchased for the same reason. It’s a real shame, this app is great, no other significant complaints. I would use this a lot if it supported au3. I’ll be crossing my fingers.

5/5Underrated synth
I’m really confused as to why this has such a low score, not only is this a 1-1 port in terms of sonic quality compared to the VST but the devs also crafted a gorgeous, totally custom UI for iOS to help edit patches and navigate modulation options. It’s also worth mentioning that unlike the lauded Odyssey, the Wavestation synth is an original Korg product whose design has always been digital, thus you are getting essentially the same product people payed lotsa $$ for in the 90’s. No it’s not the same as programming the subtractive synth, but it’s meant to be a unique way of combining/layering preset synth samples over time. Complaints that the WS presets are dated is understandable but since you can edit each sample/layer’s level, pitch, asdr, lfo mod, built in fx and more, I don’t see what’s got people convinced that this is a Seinfeld music machine only. Take some time to read the manual and expand yr mind past Moog clones.

5/5AUV3 Support for iWAVESTATION is Long Overdue—Please, Korg, Listen to Your Users!
I cannot overstate how much I appreciate its incredible sound design capabilities and the unique joy it brings to my workflow. However, it’s baffling and frustrating that in 2025, this otherwise stellar app still lacks AUV3 support. It feels like a glaring omission, especially when so many of us in the community have repeatedly requested this feature in reviews, forums, and direct feedback. AUV3 is no longer a luxury—it’s the industry standard for integrating apps into modern DAWs. Without it, the iWAVESTATION feels isolated, a gem locked away in a standalone silo that makes seamless workflows unnecessarily difficult. As someone who relies on apps like this, the inability to use iWAVESTATION as an AUV3 plugin forces compromises that detract from its potential. It’s particularly frustrating when so many of your other apps already support AUV3. I understand that development resources are limited, and adding AUV3 support might not be a simple task. But consider the sheer number of users who would not only appreciate this feature but also actively promote and use iWAVESTATION even more if it were implemented. Your community is passionate and dedicated to Korg’s legacy—this is clear from the continued outpouring of requests for this feature. Korg, please don’t let this app fall behind in an ecosystem that is moving forward. The lack of AUV3 is no longer just an inconvenience—it’s a major roadblock for your most loyal users. I implore you to listen to the consistent feedback and prioritize this feature in your updates. The potential for iWAVESTATION to shine as part of an integrated workflow is too great to ignore.

5/5Sounds Amazing And Fun...
Sounds fun? Yeah. This is really a very complex app. The sounds are stunning. Just amazing stuff. But I've tried just putting things together to create my own blend of sounds and beats, etc. but I feel like I'm getting nowhere. I downloaded and attempted to read through the PDF manual but unfortunately the only time I have to do that is after work and it puts me right to sleep. The next day I don't remember what I read and have to start from the beginning. Not a complaint with Korg, just an explanation. So, when I say it sounds fun that's because that's all I have to go on. As other reviewer's have pointed out, there's a bit of a learning curve. Maybe one of these online education sites will do a class on how to use it. That would help a lot. Once you purchase this app it then becomes available to you in Korg Gadget and the Gadget version is actually easier to use. You can't do any building in Gadget. You simply open the presets and play. You can do that in the app as well but you'll want to create once you get in there. The layout is very intriguing. It works amazing in Gadget. If you don't have Gadget I highly recommend that as well. Much less learning curve and just amazing sounds.

4/5A bit confusing, but seems really capable
I am actually well versed in synthesis and sound design, but this app is like a mind bending riddle to me. It is SO DIFFERENT from the typical analog, analog/digital hybrid, or digital FM based synths I am used to working with. The loops, the mixing, filtering, envelopes and effects chains concept seems so simple when you consider that these are all factors of a normal synth workflow, but with the different loop combinations and vector morphing considered, there are probably a billion different sounds you could program this to make, and not even be halfway to the bottom of the river of potential. I know this is going to take me a while to master, but I also know it will be worth it. Thanks Korg for putting this on sale! $15 was a pretty good deal for such an incredibly deep sound synthesis application.
