1. 5/5Ipsy WAY BETTER THAN BOXY CHARM!!!!

   My daughter and I decided to try IPSY and boxy charm at the same time so that we can get a real time accurate feeling for both and decide from there… I can tell you that I’ve had no issues with Ipsy other than a little confusion on how to upgrade my box to the next level. If you are seriously looking into beauty boxes I want to warn you that boxy charm sends out products that are damaged and dirty. I used a liquid eyeliner that I paid for separately through the drop shop and it completely messed up my eye it clogged up my tear duct causing an eye infection which then caused my contact to fused to my eye which I did not know so when I tried to take it out at night it literally peeled off part of my eye (All of this occurred within 48 hrs of using the newly purchase eyeliner) I don’t know what the heck was in that eyeliner but it really jacked up my eye! I’ve worn contacts for 20 years and never experienced anything like it. They also have no customer service!! I spent a total of $260 in their drop shop and they forgot one of my items and WILL NOT RESPOND! Choose IPSY!!!!! They are great! They actually listen to your answers in the beauty quiz also I got use out of every product that they sent me! I was so satisfied that I immediately upgraded to the next box! also who the heck doesn’t want a free make up bag every month you literally get a little mini bag!! All for under $14!!

2. 4/5Fantastic but with a few minor flaws

   I adore pretty much everything about Ipsy. Their products, customer service and their app. It’s very easy to use, full of great content and such a convenient way to manage subscriptions and to shop for beauty products in general. My only major issue is that fairly frequently the back arrow to return to the previous screen disappears so you must then choose from the menu at the bottom and go from there to return to the desired page. This can mean clicking back through several screens and while not super time consuming it is pretty annoying. My only other issue is that in the Shopper section (where I spend far too much time and money) products are sometimes missing part or all of their descriptions. Usually this is only mildly inconvenient as I can just go to the product’s company website but occasionally there are some major blanks. For example, while shopping for Nails, Inc. products over half of the polishes had not only no description, they didn’t even have a name. A few were just labeled “Nail Polish” with a pic but NO other descriptive info (except about the company in general) and some (about half of the 66 polishes) were even called “Shopping Bag.” 😄 To be fair this is the first time I’ve seen this level of missing information but I felt it was worth mentioning. But again, overall it’s a great app I use at least daily and definitely more often than nearly all of my other apps, particularly for shopping and/or beauty products.

   IPSY is by far the best way for beauty and skincare products at a great price. I had tried other beauty companies before I went to IPSY in April. I absolutely love the products they pick for me and the choices they give me to pick from each month. Although skincare is my main focus these days, I have also received some makeup products from IPSY and I have absolutely no complaints about anything I have gotten. The only problem I’ve had was with my June bag, I only received half of the products from my June bag, and when I messaged them they immediately had a replacement bag sent out to me. Unfortunately it was minus one of my choice products and one of my add on products in which they issued refunds for. I also never received the June bag itself, which kind of bummed me out because I had promised it to my granddaughter, and I felt really bad when I told her that it wasn’t coming because they had ran out of the bags. Anyway everything else has been amazing and the August glam bag X which I upgraded to every quarter was delivered sooner than I expected, and it has been the best yet. I can’t wait to get my bag for September, because it’s totally packed with skincare products which I absolutely love because I’m 53 and was starting to see the signs of aging, until I’ve started using the skincare products I receive from IPSY. They are amazing products and I’m noticeably seeing the difference in my skin. I would absolutely recommend IPSY to anyone who is looking for great skincare and makeup products for a great price. Love IPSY!!!!!

   I was at my sisters home on vacation in July when I heard of Ipsy for the first time ever! I was intrigued not only by the gorgeous product bags she received with her membership but from what I saw were Quality beauty products as part of her membership. That did it for me and I immediately joined. I for the last four months have been estactic each time I received my monthly products. So...... I decided to go from the regular bag onto the Glam Bag Plus and my gosh I haven’t been disappointed! Now to the customer service issues I’ve heard via Instagram I can’t so far disagree more with some negative issues regarding the Representatives. I had an issue with not receiving a bag for August due to my changing my address while on vacation. My fault I forgot to change it back to my home. Long story short it does take some time via email response but the two representatives I dealt with thru the email process went above and beyond to resolve the issue. Again I emphasize, My Fault, yet it was immediately resolved by shipping my bag to my home in leu of it already being sent to an out of state address and had not yet been returned to Ipsy! Now that’s Quality all the way around. Not much more can be said about this Gem of a company. Thank You Ipsy! This is a true and valid account of my experience and I have not been paid to write this review! Kathy Linus

5. 4/5My preferred subscription.

   I really do like Ipsy, out of all the subscription services I’ve been with this one the longest. It started off just the sample bag but I upgraded to the ultimate box, cause I like having the gift to wait for every month. The product variety is quite nice and the retail value always far exceeds the box I paid for. My only complaint is that the company does not pay attention to the user preference quiz we fill out, not the additional survey I spent like 5 minutes filling out hoping it would adjust my preferences for what I get. I understand their explanation of limited supplies but I’m paying 50 a month, I would at least like to get a nail polish from the brand they have to send me that I will actually wear. I’ve said I don’t want face masks, I almost always get them - I’ve said don’t send me anti aging and wrinkle cream as I am 22, and I got 4 last box. I think our preferences should at least be considered, or remove the quiz and don’t have it there for the illusion we have that control. November’s box was terrible and upset so so so many people, however my December box while I’m not super excited at least was closer to my preferences. The add on option is great. I do wish however, just like how we can add one product that we like, that we can have one removed that we absolutely do not want and either exchange it for a preference or even a different random available option. That is a widely shared forum opinion and I’d like to see it implemented.

   if I could give a negative start review, I would. they said it would be free but than they make me have to pay. on top of that it's very basic information you can Google, and googling it is faster. don't get the worthless app.

   EDITED to downgrade from 2 to 1: is this the year 2000? I never leave reviews but it is SO SLOW, and I have a really good phone. ORIG constantly freezing and crashing, unbearably slow on a good Android. Can't make wishlist (but I think this is intentional sales strategy because can't on web either). Also, UXUI problems: going "back" doesn't work in intuitive way (or at all). also given that they are selling merchandise, would be super to have more pics, or at least option to filter by a shade.

   I love picking my monthly Ipsy boxes. I get the Ipsy Original so i get a makeup bag and the Ipsy Extra full size products and they are AMAZING!!! Love when it arrives and I get to see what extras they picked for me!!!

   if i could give it 0 i would. i doesnt conferm if you want to upgrade to naother box and then taxed money out of your account without consent. it took over 70 dollars from my account and when i tryed to exsit out of the utimit pacage it cuarged me anyways when it was a pop up. im beyon angry about this. be warned if you want to try this app it will take from you and freeze up to make you get a more expensive pacage!
