I’ve been using this app for several years now. Every year it gets better and has always been reliable and sometimes better than our local news and not as eager to predict the worst for every storm like some cable news and weather apps. The premium graphics are clear and detailed although the basic graphics are also very good. I live in coastal Georgia and we need good storm information that we can rely on. This app has served well through several hurricaines and other named storms. I also use it to keeep track of storms in other parts of the country where we have relatives. That kind of in depth information is not always easy to find for areas that aren’t local. I will continue to use this app for as long as it’s available.

3/5Very disappointed with latest updates.
Still a good app, better than any other "free" APP and used to be much easier to navigate the more detailed sections. Very disappointed that several things have been changed with latest update making many things no longer available for "free" now have to pay for upgrades to access info that has been free for as long as I can remember after finding and using this APP. Plus extremely aggravating that you can’t even read or study the full details of any storm / hurricane due to the constant “ UPGRADE NOW “ pop up. I have actually found another hurricane APP. Actually has extra info & detailed info. Not as easy to use as this APP but not near the hassle of this one. Only use this as back up ( until the upgrade poo up starts going on which is usually every 2 mins ) because this one more user friendly. Or was. Before greed of money set in & those ?@&$?! Upgrade now Pop up starts

Love the Hurricane Tracker App and used it a great deal during the recent visit of Hurricane Irma. Hurricane Tracker has a wealth of information that will delight the weather enthusiast and anyone who wants all the necessary information to monitor one of nature's fiercest beasts. I have sampled many hurricane tracker apps and it is clearly the best I have found. Because of that, I was surprised to find that the app does not provide a high-resolution map (for example, Google Maps) with the most probable storm track superimposed over it. Almost all the maps are provided by the NHC. They are quite low-resolution. I understand that hurricane tracks are part science (a big part) and part magic. So, for example, a high-resolution map, with a thin, high-resolution line predicting that Hurricane Irma will go just to the east of Key West would have to be taken with a grain of salt. But, I still would REALLY like to have such a map included in Hurricane Tracker! Right now, any attempt to zoom in on any map to gather a more detailed view just produces pixelated ambiguity. It's frustrating and because of that I have to use other hurricane tracker apps in addition to this product. I applaud Hurricane Tracker in many ways and have bought the iPhone and iPad versions. Hopefully, we'll get a high-resolution map feature in a future update.

5/5Good overall - a lot of data
The app has a lot of good data however I think it could use some improvements. Here are some suggestions from a life long Florida resident. Add the category of the storm to the hurricane icon. For example: where you list the storms, show the number. This is my biggest issue with the app. Especially as storms approach land, they can upgrade or downgrade at a moments notice. I want to be able to check in the wee hours of the night and right away see what category the storm is. It’s really hard to find that info in this app. You have to either read a big document and try and weed through all the meteorology jargon to find it. Add a tracking graph that the user can move a stark back in time or forward in time based on the most projected path. Kittycode’s hurricane tracker app had this and I loved it. It even changed the category label as the storm was expected to downgrade as it moved over land. Download kittycode hurricane tracker and look at some historical storms. You’ll be able to see how this feature works. Unfortunately the kittycode app retired after last season and I found this app instead. Overall, it’s still a very good app and has a ton of info. The spaghetti models section is actually better than the other app, but some user experience misses make it less than 5 stars for me.

5/5Necessity in FL
I have had the app for about 2 years now, and I’m glad I do. It has been reliable and accurate, which is more than I can say for some weather apps. It has several visual tracking methods—spaghetti, millibars, radar, etc—so you have a good selection to monitor, even if you’re not a weather geek. It also tracks storms in the Atlantic *and* the Pacific. It is always up-to-date on NOAA data and alerts as well. One new feature that tickled me—when it sends a text alert it now includes a whooshing wind sound, which definitely differentiates it from any other alert. Kudos to the developers for accuracy, dependability and a clear, easy-to-use interface. Highly recommended. Now I’m going to check on Dorian again.

- We are introducing active storm widgets! No more opening the app to see if there are active systems. See this information right on your home screen! Small widget - will display up to 4 storm types. When there are active systems, this widget will only display storm types with active storms. When there are no active storms, it will display 4 storm categories (hurricanes, tropical storms, depressions & invests) showing "0" storms. Medium widget - will always display up the 5 storm types even if they are "0". Widgets will automatically refresh and pull the latest storm counts from the server. Widgets will also update when you launch the app. When you tap on a widget, you will be taken to the "Current Storms" section of the app to view information on active storms. Storm types with active systems will animate and show the number of active storms within each storm type. The number represents how many active systems there currently are within that storm type. For example, if "hurricanes" is showing a "1" then that means there is one active hurricane we are tracking. The storm types are hurricanes (red), tropical storms (orange), depressions (green), potential tropical cyclones (blue), and invests (teal). Note: Due to limited space within the small widget, it will only show up to 4 storm types at once. The medium widget will always show the status of all 5 storm types. Widgets will display Atlantic or Eastern Pacific storm counts based on your "default basin settings" located in the settings panel of the app. - Bug fixes

          "body": "I’ve been using this app for several years now. Every year it gets better and has always been reliable and sometimes better than our local news and not as eager to predict the worst for every storm like some cable news and weather apps. The premium graphics are clear and detailed although the basic graphics are also very good. I live in coastal Georgia and we need good storm information that we can rely on. This app has served well through several hurricaines and other named storms. I also use it to keeep track of storms in other parts of the country where we have relatives. That kind of in depth information is not always easy to find for areas that aren’t local. I will continue to use this app for as long as it’s available.",

          "body": "Still a good app, better than any other \"free\" APP and used to be much easier to navigate the more detailed sections. Very disappointed that several things have been changed with latest update making many things no longer available for \"free\" now have to pay for upgrades to access info that has been free for as long as I can remember after finding and using this APP. Plus extremely aggravating that you can’t even read or study the full details of any storm / hurricane due to the constant “ UPGRADE NOW “ pop up. I have actually found another hurricane APP. Actually has extra info & detailed info. Not as easy to use as this APP but not near the hassle of this one. Only use this as back up ( until the upgrade poo up starts going on which is usually every 2 mins ) because this one more user friendly. Or was. Before greed of money set in & those ?@&$?! Upgrade now Pop up starts",

          "body": "Love the Hurricane Tracker App and used it a great deal during the recent visit of Hurricane Irma. Hurricane Tracker has a wealth of information that will delight the weather enthusiast and anyone who wants all the necessary information to monitor one of nature's fiercest beasts. I have sampled many hurricane tracker apps and it is clearly the best I have found. Because of that, I was surprised to find that the app does not provide a high-resolution map (for example, Google Maps) with the most probable storm track superimposed over it. Almost all the maps are provided by the NHC. They are quite low-resolution. I understand that hurricane tracks are part science (a big part) and part magic. So, for example, a high-resolution map, with a thin, high-resolution line predicting that Hurricane Irma will go just to the east of Key West would have to be taken with a grain of salt. But, I still would REALLY like to have such a map included in Hurricane Tracker! Right now, any attempt to zoom in on any map to gather a more detailed view just produces pixelated ambiguity. It's frustrating and because of that I have to use other hurricane tracker apps in addition to this product. I applaud Hurricane Tracker in many ways and have bought the iPhone and iPad versions. Hopefully, we'll get a high-resolution map feature in a future update.",

          "title": "Good overall - a lot of data",
          "body": "The app has a lot of good data however I think it could use some improvements. Here are some suggestions from a life long Florida resident. Add the category of the storm to the hurricane icon. For example: where you list the storms, show the number. This is my biggest issue with the app. Especially as storms approach land, they can upgrade or downgrade at a moments notice. I want to be able to check in the wee hours of the night and right away see what category the storm is. It’s really hard to find that info in this app. You have to either read a big document and try and weed through all the meteorology jargon to find it. Add a tracking graph that the user can move a stark back in time or forward in time based on the most projected path. Kittycode’s hurricane tracker app had this and I loved it. It even changed the category label as the storm was expected to downgrade as it moved over land. Download kittycode hurricane tracker and look at some historical storms. You’ll be able to see how this feature works. Unfortunately the kittycode app retired after last season and I found this app instead. Overall, it’s still a very good app and has a ton of info. The spaghetti models section is actually better than the other app, but some user experience misses make it less than 5 stars for me.",

          "body": "I have had the app for about 2 years now, and I’m glad I do. It has been reliable and accurate, which is more than I can say for some weather apps. It has several visual tracking methods—spaghetti, millibars, radar, etc—so you have a good selection to monitor, even if you’re not a weather geek. It also tracks storms in the Atlantic *and* the Pacific. It is always up-to-date on NOAA data and alerts as well. One new feature that tickled me—when it sends a text alert it now includes a whooshing wind sound, which definitely differentiates it from any other alert. Kudos to the developers for accuracy, dependability and a clear, easy-to-use interface. Highly recommended. Now I’m going to check on Dorian again.",
