   The KPRC 2 weather app is far superior to the app included with the iPhone. The ability to easily see the weather radar, and zoom in and out on it lets me accurately predict rain for my exact location for the next hour or two. And the ability to turn on/off layers such as lightning strikes is also a great feature. I also have a few other locations across the country as favorites, allowing me to quickly see the weather in remote locations where my daughters live.

2. 1/5awful redesign no one asked for

   w t h happened?! woke up this morning to an available update for this weather app, right before we’re to expect significant rain etc. from tropical storm, & so I thought to go ahead with update so I would be better prepared. BIG MISTAKE! everything’s changed, & not for the better. No longer able to find+read weather update post, or navigate to different sections using icon bar at bottom of screen, radar is a joke now devolving into a cheap 2D map where any little touch either completely stops motion that i have to then press play to start again or it thinks I want specific weather info for a spot it thinks i pinned on the map. where did satellite map go? why can’t i at least zoom in & out & pan area without having radar stop motion & force me to waste precious time having to press play constantly?! the homepage is one big hub for 3rd party advertisers now, “video forecast” launches 30sec ad before playing yesterday’s “update”. like, CMON! who approved this?! this layout is NOT user friendly & is a giant let down for those of us who have been relying on it during storm events for ease of use & convenient radar updates. PLEASE FIX NOW. I’m having to look to competing weather apps & news stations for something better because this is a HUGE disappointment to put it mildly.

   I like having quick access to current weather conditions through the maps and radar. I often use this app to check weather conditions before we leave to go swimming at the local pool. If there is a way to remove the blue menu bar on the right side of the screen, that would really improve our use of this app. The menu bar obscures 20% of the viewing screen and contributes nothing to our understanding of the current conditions. If the menu bar could be removed while viewing the maps and radar feedback, that would be great. Maybe a swipe left or right to add or subtract the blue bar? Also, I don’t like moving ads on the screen. They are annoying and distracting. I realize you need to have ads to support the website, but the moving ads are irritating and counterproductive to many users.

4. 1/5Whyyyy did you change the weather app??

   I completely agree with every single word from the other reviewer about the changes that have been made to the storm tracker weather app! Line for line, their review accurately describes the inadequacies we are now stuck with. It is AWFUL!!! What a horrible downgrade on all fronts from the previous version. It is so bad that I thought I had been hacked and quickly deleted the app. That’s how I ended up here, to reinstall the app, only to find out that this IS the NEW version of the app. Now, I just feel less informed and completely abandoned by those that I trusted. Is this because Frank left? Is this some foreshadowing to other future inadequacies that we will have to deal with in Frank’s absence? How can I trust your thinking when your thinking gave us this??? What is going on at Channel 2??? Bring back the original version of the app. Please!!! Me & my family relied on it everyday. The new version is not worthy of being an “app”.

5. 2/5New storm tracker app

   As a longtime user of the channel 2 Storm Tracker app, I just wanted to say that i absolutely HATE the new app! I have always turned to this app for all the updates regarding Texas weather, especially Houston and the surrounding areas. It was easy to navigate, immensely better than the other local stations and I could always find everything I was needing to know. This may be the newest cutting edge technology, but it is so crowded now, that you can’t see the forest for the trees! Instead of being easy and quick to find out the daily weather updates, I’ve taken to looking and the other 2 local stations weather apps for what I’m looking for. I realize this is just one person’s opinion, which may not count for much, but sometimes too much information, can cloud the whole picture. I’m really disappointed! Sincerely, Deborah Cook
