1. 5/5Hard times working on the Beach

   Hi. I’m sure you’re job is very hard. And I’d like you to I watch the weather reports like I read the Bible. But one thing I would like ALL weather reporters to know is a lot of viewers plan their daily plans and weekly plans due to weather reports. I can’t even count how many times you all have said.., and I quote “NOT A GOOD BEACH DAY”....Or .. “ The weekend is going to be “A WASH OUT “. And it doesn’t even rain. MOST times not even a sprinkle. That puts me and ALL my co-workers standing around not making ANY MONEY because there isn’t ANY Customers coming in for lunch, the pool,or the BEAUTIFUL BEACHES we All live here in south Florida. If I may suggest PLEASE don’t tell people about rain. Maybe tell them to DEFINITELY TAKE A CHANCE... if it rains there are MANY WONDERFUL RESTAURANTS that they can ALWAYS duck into and watch for RAINBOWS OR maybe come dance in the rain with all the GREAT server. as long as there isn’t any lighting. Anyway it’s just my thoughts that you you asked for LOL

2. 5/5Best App for the 9 Hurricane Models

   It is difficult to find just one app that does everything. In order to do a fair analysis it is imperative to do a comparative analysis of other apps that attempt to do similar things. Unfortunately, no other app in Apple, provides Hurricane spaghetti models; therefore a comparative analysis cannot be done properly; hence this becomes the best & only app available for the 9 hurricane models. This is by far currently the best app available for tracking hurricane and providing you with the 9 Hurricane models (it is the only Apple map with the models I have found). Although there are more models available (13) I have yet to find an app that provides all the models as seen on channel 4 weather & news. These 9 spaghetti models have been the models with the greatest reliability and validity and these models have the least amount of variability & the least amount of outliers. Statistically speaking, these are some of the better 9 models available for us to determine future hurricane map tracking. Unfortunately, it currently does not include the European Center for Medium Range Weather Forecasting (ECMWF) which was the best global spaghetti model for 2017 tracking hurricane Irma. I encourage everybody especially in the southern states like Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Florida and all other hurricane states along the Atlantic coast to use and get this app and learn about the Hurricane spaghetti models. This is also a great teaching app for young meteorologist high school and college.

3. 5/5Max Rocks!

   I live in SE FL & I am writing this review as we wait for Hurricane Irma. I am checking this app constantly. I like the tap to zoom feature & the ease to get to any storm's cone, models, & track. Two suggestions: 1) Under the cone is the latest advisory. It does not have a date or time printed above it. Sometimes at 5 or 11 I start checking a little early since the advisory often comes out 10-20 min before the hour. I have wanted to know if it's the new advisory or not but sometimes can't be sure. So a date & time above the advisory would be nice. 2) I have been watching Max on our Ch 10 news every day & he is more detailed on TV & he does occasionally give practical, useful info about what to do when the storm hits. But his push notices & comments in the app are not. On TV & in the app, comments like "l'm getting ready & so should you!" aren't helpful. I wanted to know what the pros & cons of leaving were even for those of us who are not in an evacuation area. My husband wanted to stay & I wanted to leave. Not one news org discussed this in any way that helped. I did go on Waze & found out that from Palm Beach to Ocala the traveling speed on the major highways was between 15 to 25 mph. That helped us decide to stay, but got little to no coverage on the news (we are still keeping the option of going to a shelter open). During Andrew, Bryan Norcross gave really useful info like how to pick the safest area in ur house (for example, everyone says go to interior room, but it's better to b against an exterior wall, if there are no windows that could break, since they are the strongest), how to use a mattress for protection, reminders to turn the temp on ur AC & fridge down a few hours before impact, etc. It has been 25 years & I still remember his great advice. So my second suggestion is give information & suggestions that could help those who decide to stay be safer &/or those who decide to go to know what it looks like on the highways for them. I appreciate the long hours Max puts in, & I respect him as an expert in this field. The hurricane data on this app is great, but I wish it would have given us more practical info.

4. 3/5What happened?

   This has been my go-to app for hurricane info for years but something changed in the past weeks. All of the maps are centered on the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. That is interesting but no one lives in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Two potential systems are displayed now and it’s hard to tell but I think one is near the bay of Campeche/yucatan. And the other off the coast of Florida/georgia/south Carolina/North Carolina. And what’s interesting about that is that millions of people live near the Caribbean/gulf of Mexico/u.s Atlantic Coast and all of that is crunched over to the left of the map so details are difficult to see. Not that the middle of the Atlantic isn’t important especially mid to late season but to me the focus should mostly be where most people live with a side perspective of what is happening off the coast of Africa and mid Atlantic Ocean. And I think those perspectives are why I have used this app for years. But it was so natural I didn’t even notice until it changed in the past few weeks.

   Love this app! Yeah it doesn't really give you any hurricane info that you couldn't go online and find yourself, but the convenience of having all the latest info and updates all in one place, is awesome! It puts everything you need to know, right at your fingertips! And it even notifies you of the latest advisory updates! Along with personal suggestions and information right from Max Mayfield, himself! And anyone who's been thru a south Florida hurricane knows exactly who Max Mayfield, ex-national hurricane center head honcho, IS!! A+++ Channel 10 & Max Mayfield for collaborating on this on together!
