  1. 5/5Hands down best organization!

I am the team parent for both Boston University men’s lacrosse and Cornell men’s lacrosse. I was introduced to Group/Spot by one of the BU parents when I mentioned I was looking for an app would help organize our games and communicating with the team in an easier manner. This app does that plus 100 times more! It not only shows game schedule, it send reminders leading up to the game if you want, can easily communicate with your whole team, groups of parents or individuals. Privacy seems to be their number one priority. You approve members before they can be a part of the group. No person can join without your approval to let them into your group. When you first go into your group on the app, it’s similar to Facebook in the sense that it is a feed with all the information you want everyone to see and follow along with. We post all of our pictures from tailgates, team meals, game pictures… Easy to take it from there and do a slideshow for end of year celebrations. Everything is all in one place - no need to have everything in multiple places. I used to send out weekly emails to both my teams but now I put everything in the app. Again - everything in one spot! I loved it so much that I added two of my other kids, high school sports teams! It’s a winner for sure. Never a need to search for another solution for anything - this literally has it all! Name it, it probably does it.

  2. 5/5A New Destination for Groups

Initially, it was hard to imagine how this tool could replace other group applications like Facebook or TeamSnap, but, after using it for 6 months, it is clear Kohort is so much simpler and effective - it has all the tools you need to communicate with a group on one platform. It keeps everything in the same place - no need for tracking down emails, evites, signup geniuses, google forms, etc. - all of those functions are available on one dedicated platform. Best of all, there are no ads and your information is only shared when you want it to be. Privacy is prioritized. This app is flexible and just simply works for group organizers and participants. Our community has adopted this app for youth and high school sports and activities. Our coaches post schedules for practices and games. Our kids have taken responsibility for monitoring schedule changes because they receive direct notifications and it is easy to use. There is a chat feature where they can communicate with their teammates and coach. Parents and grandparents are able to stay on top of schedule changes, game addresses, roster details, etc and our group organizers post action photos that are shared with the entire community. These photos can be easily downloaded and saved to your own digital photo library. Everything is stored in one place and serve as a terrific memoriam for past seasons. The applications for this app are endless (family keepsakes, memoriam, celebrations, etc). We plan to setup a group for our extended family. We don’t need thousands of people viewing and commenting on our family activity - just us!

  3. 5/5Outstanding communication support for our summer music camp

Cannon Music Camp at Appalachian State University had our inaugural year using GroupSpot this past summer, 2025. Over the 57 years of camp we’ve certainly invented and re-invented many ways to communicated and support our music campers during the three-week experience. We found that GroupSpot, had many features that worked tremendously well for our communication needs. The feed experience, the ability to share photos, and the ability to reach out to students via the app without utilizing their personal numbers was exceptional. For our purposes we created a daily announcement slide on Canva and linked it a a news feed update. We also liked the ability to add our concerts to the calendar and be able to upload photos to each event so that we have a much better way to sort through photos post-camp to use for promotion in social media. The attendance features of GroupSpot were also helpful for us in many ways. The very best part about using GroupSpot was the exceptional support we as a staff received from John and how GroupSpot is really listening to suggestions for improvement or update that can help make the app work even better for a summer camp as opposed to an athletic program or school music program.

  4. 5/5GroupSpot HITS the spot for busy parents!

As a user, I can’t say enough great things about GroupSpot and how easy it has made it for me to not miss an announcement, submission deadline or event for the various school and sport groups I participate in. In the past, I would frantically scour through the countless emails I would get each day to try and retrieve an email I knew I had seen at one point, or that form link I needed to make sure we were registered for an event. Now all of this information is contained in the app within my Groups and right at my fingertips. It’s already so easy and intuitive to use the app but the best part is how responsive the GroupSpot team is to feedback. Here and there I have submitted a few requests for things I would like to see in the app and not only received immediate responses but also got to see this feedback carried forward. Their level of commitment to meeting their customer’s needs and making all our lives easier is truly unmatched. Thank you for saving me so much time and helping me stay on track, GroupSpot. As a busy parent where each day is a delicate balancing act, there is no greater value than this!

  5. 5/5Group Spot the Best for School Organizations!

We struggled to find a vendor who could adequately handle a mobile directory for our large school district (5,800 students). That is, until we found Group Spot. Not only did Group Spot develop a timely, fabulous, highly functional and streamlined school directory for each of our 9 schools, they have revolutionized the way we communicate to our school communities. The ability to post tons of information to every member simultaneously, pin those posts to get more views, use the app to immediately poll parents on issues and ideas, and include all kinds of attachments, sign-up sheets, etc. has made our jobs so much easier and our parent/guardians very satisfied. Group Spot has become the first stop of the day for thousands of our community members to get their information and insight- and the app continues to improve- the developers are extremely open and responsive to feedback and have made multiple fast enhancements to better the user experience- I anticipate we will be providing the app to our school communities for a long time to come! - Kathy Marshall, Federated Home and School Association, Ridgewood, NJ
