   I am the team parent for both Boston University men’s lacrosse and Cornell men’s lacrosse. I was introduced to Group/Spot by one of the BU parents when I mentioned I was looking for an app would help organize our games and communicating with the team in an easier manner. This app does that plus 100 times more! It not only shows game schedule, it send reminders leading up to the game if you want, can easily communicate with your whole team, groups of parents or individuals. Privacy seems to be their number one priority. You approve members before they can be a part of the group. No person can join without your approval to let them into your group. When you first go into your group on the app, it’s similar to Facebook in the sense that it is a feed with all the information you want everyone to see and follow along with. We post all of our pictures from tailgates, team meals, game pictures… Easy to take it from there and do a slideshow for end of year celebrations. Everything is all in one place - no need to have everything in multiple places. I used to send out weekly emails to both my teams but now I put everything in the app. Again - everything in one spot! I loved it so much that I added two of my other kids, high school sports teams! It’s a winner for sure. Never a need to search for another solution for anything - this literally has it all! Name it, it probably does it.

2. 5/5Outstanding for any Group Communication

   I am a high school head football coach (Glen Rock HS, NJ ) and we needed a direct means of communication and info to players. GroupSpot delivers and is top notch with many features that will help the needs of your organization. It is simple, yet has a vast amount of other tools that are user friendly. You can post updates that will be a direct notification, or you can time to when you’d like a message out. You can also create mini groups if you want to send a message to a smaller group, or a personal convo with someone. One of my favorite features is the custom ability of making the platform friendly to your group (i.e. logos), and you can see who viewed your update (which is great for accountability). We also put our calendar on this, and you can send reminders of a certain event pushed directly to their phones. There’s many more features to also navigate. They also have excellent customer service and will help you with any issues. I highly recommend this especially if you are a coach of a HS or a club sport!

   After being a part of this knitting group for the past two years, I can confidently say that GroupSpot has been a game changer! I’ve been part of the group for a while, and as a busy knitter juggling my projects and daily life, I truly appreciate how much easier it has made staying connected and engaged. The group holds several sessions a week where we can drop in and get help with our knitting projects—so helpful! With my busy schedule, it’s great to have a place where I can always check for updates and join sessions at the last minute if needed. The best part? The calendar is always up-to-date, and I get quick notifications when something changes, which is a huge relief. There’s also an active group chat, a monthly shared photo album where we can share finished projects, and a growing library of instructional videos. But what stands out the most to me is how easy it is to be part of this group. It's so simple to use—no tech headaches here! Apps should be intuitive and make things easier, and GroupSpot does just that. It really streamlines everything, from session updates to socializing with other knitters. It’s amazing how much more efficient everything has become, and I honestly can’t believe I ever dealt with all of this through email before. If you're looking for an easy way to stay organized and engaged in a community, GroupSpot is the way to go!

4. 5/5Outstanding communication support for our summer music camp

   Cannon Music Camp at Appalachian State University had our inaugural year using GroupSpot this past summer, 2025. Over the 57 years of camp we’ve certainly invented and re-invented many ways to communicated and support our music campers during the three-week experience. We found that GroupSpot, had many features that worked tremendously well for our communication needs. The feed experience, the ability to share photos, and the ability to reach out to students via the app without utilizing their personal numbers was exceptional. For our purposes we created a daily announcement slide on Canva and linked it a a news feed update. We also liked the ability to add our concerts to the calendar and be able to upload photos to each event so that we have a much better way to sort through photos post-camp to use for promotion in social media. The attendance features of GroupSpot were also helpful for us in many ways. The very best part about using GroupSpot was the exceptional support we as a staff received from John and how GroupSpot is really listening to suggestions for improvement or update that can help make the app work even better for a summer camp as opposed to an athletic program or school music program.

5. 5/5Best Book Club App!!

   It has been such a struggle organizing book clubs - from gathering emails every time we need to communicate, winding up with long annoying chains, to trying to remember what books we’ve read and who likes what, and introducing new members with no way of revisiting our history... not to mention the frustration of figuring out whose hosting, where and who’s bringing what to each meeting. Email overload. There just has never been an easy solution to keep everyone in touch and keep track of all things book club. Enter Kohort - literally the life saving solution for our book club! Honestly I think we would have fallen apart without it, instead it’s enabled us to be so organized and streamlined with little stress on the organizer. I truly believe that thanks to Kohort, our book club has not only stay active and alive but has totally thrived. Absolutely love this app. I’m loving learning about its various functions and even started a group for my family. Can’t recommend it enough!
