1. 5/5Great in Theory, Trash in Practice

   When I first went into fred meyer I was pretty impressed. Few weeks later, I try to set a pick up order so I could try the fred meyer experience. Trash, buggy mess. Items getting removed while youre shopping due to availability. I finally get my over $80 list of groceries together WITH MY STORE SELECTED. I go to pay - buggiest mess ever. Suddenly cant find my store. Then it does, I go to pay, problem with payment just spins. Go back, fix card info. Same issue with bugginess trying to get into the payment section only to be told YOUR ITEMS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS LOCATION. Then I go back and check each item, seems fine. CORRECT LOCATION ENTERED. Go back to pay, ITEMS NOT AVAILABLE yadayada. Go back hope the glitch fixes, finally get back in and boom payment section bugs out again. Triple check my card info. I just wanted to shop, take a nap from my NIGHT SHIFT and get up and go grab groceries. Should've went to winco who was OPEN when I was in need. Aside from meats and organic products, I could have grabbed all my snacks for the week from there and actually saved money, got rest and got up and hit up safeway or trader joes. Thanks for the most ridiculous app experience ever. the layout and options are sick. Super un-optimized though. Gotta keep it moving when shopping not sit here wondering why the deals wont load for the half the coupons until the 3rd time you open it. All for a cherry on too finish with no way to pay.

2. 5/5Works wonderfully when it works right

   This app, through its various updates, has had the same issues—every time you look something up to add it to the list (in my regulars) sometimes I have to recheck everything, sometimes I don’t. Usually I have to uncheck things I didn’t have checked. I think it confuses the app, but it would be nice if it could remember what was and wasn’t checked. That leads to the second issue—double listing of a product in your list, and if you try to delete one, it deletes both of them, and if you add one back, it adds two separate listings again. The only way I have found to work with this is to just go through the cart and undouble things that it has doubled the amount of. Another problem (and this becomes user/app problems at this point) is that if you’ve had to add a few things, you may have gone back and forth and re-checked items so many times that even though you have really tried to be careful, you inevitably forget something because you _thought_ it was checked. Don’t get me wrong—I truly appreciate this app and the being able to just pick our groceries up. It makes things so much easier. I think if I were a mom with little kids this would be a fantastic thing—but hopefully not having the issues ordering that I have been. I keep thinking with each update that it’s going to stop, so maybe it’s my phone/tablet. I am grateful it’s here, I just wish the process was smoother.

   First, I’d like to say that because of health reasons I love having the pick up and delivery options. However, I’m not as impressed as I used to be. This app used to show the ingredients on almost all of their products, and now the majority of the ones I need actually show them. Having celiac disease and allergies to foods, it’s imperative I know what I’m getting. Also, the other app was easier to find qualifying products for coupons. Navigating through the app is not as easy now. Often times I search a product and it says there isn’t anything matching that description, but I can word it the same way another time and it brings the product up easily. Before, it was clear what promotional items to purchase to receive free delivery. It’s much harder to find now, but even after finding a coupon valid today for free delivery on purchases of $75 or more, it would not apply it to my order. Therefore, on a $211 purchase I was charged $9.95 for delivery and $11 for a tip (I live 2-3 minutes from the store). Maybe the tip for the driver should be based on delivery location. Lastly, I was able to include notes about the actual delivery in the past, and the app does not have a place for that anymore. I really need to have that option, so I find this very frustrating.

   I don’t know if my app is broken. I have asked people in the store about certain things on the app that make me think it could be broken, but no one has been able to give me an answer. I wonder if it’s broken because, online shopping, ordering for pick up, or even just searching available products are completely nonexistent features. it makes no sense to me and I don’t understand how anyone is even able to order anything for pick up, as almost nothing shows up on the app when you search for a product. Nothing ever shows up, that makes sense on the website either though when I search for something. Aside from that, I guess the most basic features of, scanning mobile coupons, accessing your past orders with your rewards card or looking up receipts for returns are operational. Although I have used the app to return things many times I have never been to a Fred Meyer where they were aware of that possibility. I’ve had to convince them at customer service to do it every single time, so that seems weird. I’ve never used a retail app that doesn’t comprehend what someone’s asking or looking for in the search. It’s really weird and frustrating. Fred Meyer very clearly doesn’t treat their employees very well either because I’ve never been to a Fred Meyer where the employees were not completely irritated and grumpy to be working or where I was able to get answers to any kind of questions like these.

5. 1/5Worst service ever

   I had trouble logging in to my account after years of shopping without issue. The app and website wouldn’t allow me to reset the password. I called Kroger Connect Customer service both via phone & website chat and received the worst customer service. After holding about 10-15 min, someone responded on both phone & chat so I went with the phone call. On the phone she sounded disinterested and assumed I knew the meaning of their technical jargon. When I questioned what she meant she would only give me minimal info and I frequently had to ask multiple questions for something she should have already told me. For example. She asked me if I created an alternate ID. It took multiple questions for me to realize an alternate ID has to be a 10 digit number. She then placed me on hold for about 10 minutes, eventually transferring me to a different department who was nice but told me that the original person should have helped me and then transferred me back to a “supervisor” from the original team I contacted. She was kind but also wasn’t always clear in some of her requests. For example, she had me click a link that provided info on my device. She asked me for my iOS version and I told her, but later learned she was looking for something at the link she had me click. All around a dissatisfactory experience. Also, don’t bother trying to do a chat with customer service from an iPhone. It’s not designed correctly and you can’t see what you’re typing.
